My armchair psychologist diagnosis, from a 30 second clip, makes me suspect that the guy may possibly have some sort of learning difficulty. Which makes it so much sadder if he is being scammed by the MAGA cult. But also a huge indictment of all the other MAGAs that he was able to see through it, when they can't

There’s no hope for these cult followers
Studying WWII history as a high school student, we always wondered how the German people could become that way. How they could fall into the rabbit hole of fascism, and if it could ever happen to us. This video is answering all those questions. These people can't throw themselves down that hole fast enough, and they're not mincing words on the way down. These people are begging for dictatorship.
Klepper's videos are going to be archived and taught to the school children of the future. When the kids ask how America became a fascist dictatorship, they will be shown this video.
I love Klepper's humor, but man, this is really disturbing.
In 2016 I kept seeing people worried about this very thing and I was one of those people who believed it couldn’t happen to us because of our access to the internet and how real facts were right at our fingertips, boy was I wrong. I definitely underestimated the level of stupidity within these people. We are watching it all unfold and it is very disturbing.

These are people with families that love them that have gotten swept into a bad crowd. A close relative of mine just scrolls on her phone all day reading MAGA tweets and Meta posts supporting Trump.

As an observer from across the pond it’s bewildering to see these people draping themselves in the US flag while apparently not having a clue what your country used to stand for.
As a fellow observer it some times feels like the personification of Gandalf saying: "Madness. Madness and stupidity."
As an American, I'm bewildered too. But after learning about the atrocious decline in education, especially in southern states, it makes sense. My husband had a coworker who moved from the northeast to Florida during the pandemic because he could work anywhere. He moved back in 6-8 months because his saw his children becoming dumber every day. We had a military family move into our neighborhood. They had been stationed in Georgia and Florida for the most part. Their son had to repeat 2nd grade (7-8 year olds) because he didn't have the skills to go to 3rd grade.

Well. That's an honest man knowing his limitations. Not someone nodding to "more like the Mussolini kind of dictator", not knowing who Mussolini was and embarrassing themselves like total hicks. It's not a sin to have your limitations; we all do one way or another. It's a sin to pretend you know while you're completely oblivious.

What I thought too, initially. Unfortunately I hear too many examples from friends that the majority of their high-class work colleagues are also for Trump: surgeons, engineers in high tech, etc. Had to reevaluate my assumptions. And a man like that does not get such overwhelming support poll after poll without huge approval across social & education backgrounds.

@@raphofthehills4405 Trump has never won the popular vote. And the higher the education, the more blue, almost overwhelmingly so. Old people and uneducated people are huge voting blocks. Gerrymandering helps.

Thinking about the situation as mostly "uneducated people = Trump" seems to fail to capture the whole picture.
Jordan's rally videos do not broadly represent the larger electorate. The kind of people that show up or that he interviews do not seem representative enough to explain what I am hearing in 'white collar' circles.

The affluent know their spot in the pecking order and support Trump's policies because they benefit them. They would never be caught dead at a free Trump rally, they go to the paid donor parties where the quieter parts are said out loud. They know the direction these unpopular policies lead; they're counting on it.
Vote, because you know all of these people sure will.

I disagree, education looks very different state to state and republicans have been gutting it faster in Red states for years now. School choice has allowed wealthy families to remove their kids from under performing schools and fk the rest of the kids. Those same low income kids with low education are then groomed to be bigoted angry maga republics even as the man they vote for tries to make things worse for their kids. With stuff like pragerU being allowed in schools it's only getting worse across the board. @@VoodooV1

Let us not forget that "Black people benefited from slavery because it taught useful skills." Was a standard the Florida State Board of Education put forward last year. Kids are not getting the same education we did in some states anymore.

Fortunately these folks only represent around 30% of registered Republicans, but as you can see, they are definitely die-hards. There is room for hope, since as we saw in Iowa, Drumpf won 60% of the caucus votes, but only 15% of registered Republicans voted. That's the lowest turnout in over twenty years. So, Drumpf has his cult followers in lock-step, but the majority of Americans are not going to vote for him in November.
