Yeah, I noticed that too. They're just trying to stay alive and maybe give some workers not on strike a little bit of dough. And, sadly, it's still relevant. But therefore, it's also still fun to watch. 😂 Though I do hope the studios give the workers a decent agreement soon! There is so much great material out there right now, and we need that influence and comedic relief around it.

That’s the issue with ultra conservatives: they’re raised to be patriotic af, and since strong patriotism relies on an unshakable belief in one’s own country, anyone who questions that belief is automatically seen as unpatriotic and evil by them… Even though the ability to question basic narratives is an absolute necessity, now more than ever. Of course, some of them see themselves as being able to do so (tinfoil hats), but really they only ever do so when it fits their narrative, and never do it in any sensical way (read: using one source as fact when a thousand more speak against it)

What you saw there at the end though was this- those girls are gonna go look more into what happened and then also realize that everything else has been a lie and a grift. Literally anyone with internet access can use AI to write unfathomable amounts of text, vet or not vet it any way they like, then publish it in various ways. People hate to look like a fool and so they just make up an excuse to continue feeling like they are justified.
We did an activity in a critical thinking class that was essentially a crime solving exercise. The first round we were given information on the suspects and formulated a theory on who did it. The second and third round we were give conflicting information that threw off our theory. Most of the guys in my group were going to stick with the original theory. I told them no, it doesn't work anymore. He couldn't have done it, this person seems like a stronger case now. The guys in my group agreed to go with my theory.
So the conclusion? The other group did exactly what my group was going to do. They stuck with their original theory regardless of blaring conflicting information. My group had won the exercise because we changed course when we saw our theory no longer worked.
This exercise was a lesson in biases and how assumptions can be made and kept regardless of conflicting information. We were doing this for our job, these people and pretty much most of America have never taken such a class and never will. We need more critical thinking and media literate classes. This is a serious problem.
I think the scariest thing about this is that they’re so willfully ignorant that even when they’re showing the truth, they’re unwilling to believe it

My uncomfortable wake up was my years of ignorantly believing people were motivated by clearly demonstrated fact. I actually believed that human beings, when presented with facts, changed their opinion. They simply don't. I was a fool to believe they do.
I still struggle to understand that mentality. When someone shows me I'm wrong, I enjoy that. I like learning. I grew up thinking everyone was like this but man reality hits hard when you think that way.
One thing that is absolutely consistent about "Magars" is that they always give us a whole lot of Laughs,
which is a little bit strange because they are Notorious for NEVER having a Sense of HUMOR!
