I noticed after about three years of heavy use I could no longer hit seat temps of 550. I thought it was the small propane tank, converted to a 20lb tank. Still was hitting only 500. Cleaned the grill, took special care in the manifold and noticed the flame was yellow. I looked at the air inlet, and it was dirty. From years of grease smoke, the mesh had become covered in dirt and grease and was dark. I cleaned it with an old toothbrush and all purpose cleaner. Dried it with paper towels, flames were blue. Grill hits 575 after 17 minutes. Just thought I’d share.
Fire Escape Griller did you try cleaning like this guy suggested? I don’t use my q1200 enough for it to be so dirty, but I have to think that cleaning it this way will fix the problem. The q1200 is too simple a grill to have any complex issues.
I've got a 2200 and cleaning the inside of the lid makes a real difference - as it blackens, less heat reflects back and therefore it struggles to hit the high notes (though very rarely do i need to cook anything >400)
I bought my Q1200 (in green, like yours) after watching your videos. The grilled whole chicken recipe that you did has become legendary in my family. Thank you for all the great videos and recipes!!! The grills are easy to take apart and clean up. Mine still looks new after a year of use.
I use and abuse mine. Took it camping into the deep woods on more than one occasion and never cover it. Still works great! Roast chicken with the za'atar... you know that. Cheers Dave!
My Weber Q 120 was the predecessor to the Q 1200. February was 4 years since I purchased it and it's still going strong. Push button electric ignition gave out but it's no big deal. I give it a deep thorough cleaning about twice a year and I could not be happier. Thanks for all you do and KEEP ON GRILLIN!!
Hi! Thanks for the excellent review. I've had my Q1200 for almost 5 years now with no issues. I love it! Just wanted to let you know that was able to take out the smoke stains on the cover! Just bring the temperature up to almost 500 degrees and the stains should be easily removed with a damp microfiber cloth. The stains should come right off! Give it a try! Take care and thanks for all your videos!
In Australia I used spray on (foam) oven cleaner on my dirty lid externally and it worked a treat ,using oven cleaner on the inside was ok ;however, please do this is a well ventilated area or preferably outside as that stuff is toxic ,wear PPE ie a quality mask and follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
Loved the review! I picked up my Q 2000 (used) last summer after I watched just a few of your videos, I had to have one even though I had a Genesis on the patio. You just cant beat the functionality of this smaller gas grill. My Q has become the Go-To for steaks and I have since developed an excellent sense of touch-for-temp on steaks using this grill that has no thermometer. Keep on grillin'!
After I bought the griddle and did some really greasy cooks, it seems like the thermometer has been reading low. I'm not sure. I will replace the burner tube soon though. See what happens.
I got a Weber Q1200 on ebay that the guy had only used twice for $100.00. He also threw in the cart brand new in the box. And it was in my favorite color, blue. Love this grill. I usually grill using charcoal and I own the Smokey Joe, Jumbo Joe, and the 22" Performer. This is great for a quick cook. Never had any issues with it and ended up buying a 20 pound propane tank which seemed to last forever. Glad I picked one up and great video as always.
Great video as always. Had mine just over a year and it cooks beautifully. High quality, robust and does exactly what it's supposed to. No complaints. It's worth the cost - money well spent. I have the roasting rack and a small vegetable basket. Both highly functional.
Grill Hack!..... Especially to those buying a new Weber Q, if you line the inside lid with foil, that will keep it looking new and then just change it out as needed. Now, I like grilling on a flat surface for things as you covered such as eggs bacon pancakes and onions and peppers. So I ordered the BlackStone tailgater. I just received it so I’m not going to open it and immediately send it back due to your review showing the flat griddle accessory. I’m very pleased that I can keep my new Weber Q 1200 in (Orange) with the cart. The first thing I will do after opening and assembling it will be lining the inside lid for the two reasons that I mentioned. Thanks so much for all you informational videos. I’m always looking forward for your next video.
I like grilling on the flat-top too. Breakfast items like you mention and burgers. Good hack with the foil. I'm taking a short break from video-making, but I'll be back. Thanks for watching, Latada.
Have two of these in stead of one larger. You get better heat distribution and also can do different kind of food style in the two if needed. Highly recommended.
I have the small and medium Qs and use them when guests come over. So much easier to use and clean up than the Genesis Gold I have. Throw chicken burgers and dogs on the two of them.
Nice review. I've had my Weber Q 1200 for about 2 years now and I still love it. I bought mine to keep on my boat and it stows away nicely in a storage bin below the deck, and unlike the super expensive marine grills, it gives me excellent temperature control. I got the black one, so it doesn't show the discoloration so bad after long term use. I love my little Weber Q and highly recommend it. I enjoy your channel and your videos...you've inspired many great meals on the boat !
I have had a q220 for, what..., 6 years now. All parts are original other than the split grates I ordered. When I grill with gas this is my go to grill. It has outlasted 3 standard gas grills I owned previously (not Webers). I am retired for 3 years now and grill a lot! This grill might outlast me! No rust, no broken parts. This is my go to grill for sweet corn grilled in the husk. I grill a dozen ears at a time, cut the corn off the cob and freeze! Oh my god, so good! I still have enough for 8-10 meals in the freezer (freeze in bags flattened. Keeps a lot of corn in a small space). Anyways, this has been a great grill. Thanks for your review on your model.
Thanks for the kind words. I can't wait until corn season here. Some of the best corn in this area comes from New Jersey, believe it or not. Sweet and delicious. As far as the Q, these are great little grills, built to last. My ignition still works on one press and I've never changed the battery. Cheers and thanks for watching, maddocce!
Your review of the Q1200 convinced me to buy one. It lives on my small patio along with the Weber 22” charcoal kettle. Keep those recipes coming. Thanks.
I bought a used Q2000 with a cart for $50. After a few years, I replaced both the grate and the burner. In all, I had it about six years. Totally awesome. Made roasted leg of lamb, bread, you name it. It was just a bit too big to move when I sold the house, so I sold it to a grateful neighbor. Settled into a new place, and I am definitely getting this one. The 1000 isn't domed enough for some of the things I want to cook.
Great review Mike! I've had my Q2200 for over 2 yrs and couldn't be happier! Truly an awesome tailgate grill! Thanks for your time and effort in producing quality videos!
I have only just bought my Webber q and I love it so far I have cooked a perfect roast pork with amazing crackling and a breakfast of sausage bacon and eggs , I wish I bought one years ago best barbecue ever ,and so easy to keep clean .absolutely love it .
Best grills ever.Had mine for years and use it often.Easy to clean and still works like the day I bought it.Purchased the small one last week to take camping.
Since I bought my roasting rack ... I have a cast iron casserole pot I’ve mage amazing curries and Stews on the Weber ..... the roasting rack is amazing .... thanks to u and your Chanel
I've had my Family Q for 5 years, I grill every weekend, it looks and performs as the day I bought it.. Only word of advice clean the inside of the lid every 4 cooks, the smoke stains are really hard to remove if you don’t up keep.
I absolutely love my 4 year old Q1200. I hacked it to quick change right off my RV duel 30 pound supply. No annoying one pound cylinders. I am planing g to buy a Q3200 for my deck at my seasonal RV. It comes with a cart attached. While it uses a 20 pound, I will hack that right out of the box the same as my 1200. The Q grills cook so even and get very hot quick.
I love taking my Q1200 on the road. I've never tried the Q3200, but I used a new Weber Genesis II E-330 the other day, and it's pretty great for a family sized gas grill. Cheers Brian!
I just bought one for camping, and the griddle, and the portable stand. I am excited by how easy it will be to clean up the grease and mess. Now looking for some really neat recipes that I haven't tried before.
For a while I was hesitant to buy a weber gas grill, but thanks to you and your awesome videos. I now own a weberq 1200 and have recomend it to other people and insisted to watch your videos
Weber tends to make a fine product across the board. Especially when compared to Charbroil or some of those other brands that make pretty grills that just don't work that well or last that long. Enjoy your Q mgalvlo35!
I have to agree with everything you said. My Weber Q is only a year old but works and looks great (mine is Blue) It has been the perfect companion to my Kamado Joe Classic (1st Gen).
Thank you for the review. We just got the 2200 and are hosting Father's Day! But you video calmed some of my fears, mostly about the gas tank, which we have never dealt with.
The 2200 is a great grill and super easy to make amazing food. I've been using mine almost every day for the past month. You will have a great Father's Day cookout!
Thanks for the video. I was trying to make a decision on which one to purchase, the Q1000 or 1200 and you've just made my decision easier.. Going with the 1200. Great video and I like how you kept it simple. Thank you
Great video! I never realized the LP version had a higher domed lid. I owned the electric version for 10 years until the electric element broke. I loved this thing because I live in an urban area so charcoal smell would loft over to my neighbors. Originally we owned a large kettle version of Weber’s Black Charcoal grill. That thing lasted over 10 yrs too. The issue with the electric was the dome wasn’t as high. I did cook 4 pound leg of lamb on medium for 3 hours in December and it came out so tender. I did use some bourbon soaked chips in it too but it’s a bit tricky with electric. Weber does sell or used to a nice grill platter I use for veggies. Thanks for this info about the gas because I believe I will go this route!
The Q1200 and the Q2200 are both great ways to go because you get the domed lid. The 1200 is smaller (good for a couple). The 2200 is called the family Q. One nice thing about the 1200 is the great colors you can choose from. The 2200 only comes in one color.
Those electric ones are very cheap on the used market near me. Probably be easy to find another heating element and other extra parts such as grates, etc.
just bought one mostly for the portability cuz we aren't allowed to have grills at my condo - it's super discrete and easy to clean and hide away in a matter of minutes - I disconnect the propane tank and store it outside for safety reasons - i'm definitely loving it so far
I have the family Q ...320AU guess AU means Australia, we love it and have cooked many of your recipes, so many thanks. Asked at our local barbecue shop about the roasting rack and ready made aluminum foil, and they are still available in Australia ( I know you know that. ) The gentleman said he thought the racks were made in the USA, and was surprised that they were no longer available over your way ... strange. Keep on grilling! Regards, Brian.
The roasting racks are also no longer available in South Africa, hence I opted for a cheap oven roasting pan, the fat dripping into the pan adds awesome flavor and the upside is it is re-usable. Quick wash and ready to use again.
This is when UA-cam is best, regular person presenting some structured user experiences, Excellent ! You just helped me determine what small gas grill I am getting for my friend, thanks ! And yes, I own bigger ones like the Napoleon LEX485 and Traeger Pro 22, but this seems a quality product for my not so "BBQ crazy" lone parent friend...
I highly recommend the Weber Q for small families. It's really easy to use and cooks an excellent steak! Everything else comes out good too. Thanks for watching Hobbee Swe!
Very happy with mine. Have you had to replace your regulator? I dont get a good light when starting the grill. Burner is new. I usually have to shut the top and let it warm up before the entire burner will light.
we've had our Q1200 for 4 years or so. Love this thing. Best grill ive personally ever owned. Not that that says much, Ive never owned any bigger grills
I absolutely love my little purple Weber Q.💜. I even went out and got a few of the many accessories that they offer for it. Thanks for the tips. Good vid.
Thank you ,, the first video ive seen that addresses the hose to use a bigger tank , and hook up ,,, awesome , you've sold me on this grill bcus im a cheap ass and always trying to cut corners and save a buck . Thanks bro ,nice channel and videos , keep it up , im counting on you Lol
City Escape Griller ok I will Thanks ,, my grill is on the way , I should have it within the week , going to enjoy a lot of your recipes , keep them coming 👍
seriously considering this grill since it will be the perfect size for my apartment balcony I have an electric grill/smoker from cabelas but you don't get that nice flavor like you do from a gas grill
Nice video and would have like to see how easily it can be transported with the wheeled base. Is the barbecue stable while being moved on the wheeled base?
@@GallaghersGrub they are out there I found mine on Amazon link below, it's 1gal (5lbs) I like it because it's easier and lighter to carry, even when full, compared to the 20gal. I have a family Q 3200, epic BBQ. It does help to clean them once in a while though, it may affect the temp, amount of smoke etc. I clean mine annually, for the price I want it to last forever.
I need to do a deep clean very soon. Take off the tube and see if there's any grease blocking things. Thanks for watching Ken. Should have another Q vid out by the end of the week.
I cant tell you how long I’ve had a Q, now I realize one of MT three Q’s is well over 15 tears old?? I have bases on two, all kinds of stuff. All their accessories are great. I usually have a large remote tank, but one has a small tank and its a go anywhere unit...Durable, replacement perat are easy to find...Great cooking too..
15 years! Nice. I found mine on the street in Brooklyn 4 years ago. It was basically brand new and some woman was throwing it out to get a "big grill." It was like rescuing an unwanted dog that turns out to be an amazing pet. Lol!
I have a Q2200. I noticed my temps not going as high as 500 over time. I took off my burner tube and cleaned out the inside of it with a pipe cleaner. That corrected it for me. There was some build up inside. Maybe that will help with yours.
Love our q2200, I use foil to line the grease tray, cheaper than Weber trays. Also use thin grill mats on the the grill keeps the grill nice and clean, and you still get the grill marks on your food as well as being none stick, have you tried them. ?? 👍🏼👍🏼
I usually use foil too. Actually sprung for the Weber trays just to make this video. I have not tried the grill mats but will look into them. Thanks, Sid!
What an awesome idea, I have seen these advertised in the local retailers, but have always been wary of using it on the Weber Q. Will most definitely give it a try!
I have the q100 for 8 years now. And I can agree with everything you say, which holds true after 8 years as well. Except for your conclusion about the temperature gauge. After 8 years the maximum temperature drops down even more then what you've noticed, and it becomes noticeable when grilling too. My conclusion is that this is caused by the q100/1000/1200 not having flavorizer bars and occasional grease drips on the grill tube can't be prevented, clogging up the holes, preventing the gas flow making the flames smaller even at full power. I am not sure if a thorough cleaning would fix this or if I would need to buy a new tube. Other that that, it has served me well for 8 years.
Great video. I am giving my son my Weber Genesis and buying a Q1200 for us . There is just the 2 of us and that grill should be plenty big enough for us. Your vides are great. Keep up the good work.
I got my q2200, which is the same as the q1200 just a little bigger, a couple of days ago and I love it!!! The q series are amazing and have great built quality.
@@alexandrosparavatos5100 GREAT - SO Happy for you!!! Yes, I am amazed at the quality of this grill. Talked to one lady, she bought hers in 2007 and has rebuilt it (burner tube, etc) due to use and still loves it!
good night my friend! big fan of the channel here! I bought this model after your reviews, I mainly like to cook grilled steaks, so it's perfect for me … however, I would like to ask you if it's possible to smoke w/ this one? do you have any videos of, for example, smoked brisket on this one? is it possible to do it? thanks in advance!!
I have a couple of ribs videos. The Q doesn't go below about 350 F, so you can't really do low and slow. It's not really the ideal grill for pork butt or brisket.
Fire Escape Griller I couldn’t resist your cooking and couldn’t wait for the weekend. I ended up buying the Q 1200 this afternoon and will try your buffalo wings recipe. Thanks from Sydney, Australia!
Thanks for the review. I'm looking at picking up a unit for my terrace here in Seoul, South Korea. I've seen comments regarding the robustness of the barbecue, and it being totally fine uncovered year round. My only concern here is extreme temperatures with nearly 50 deg C up and down (-15C / 5F to 35C / 95F). Would a 160z (1 pound / 450g) canister be okay in these conditions when not in use? I'd also like to purchase a cover, so as to protect the bbq from the elements.
The Q is the perfect grill for a terrace. I never cover mine and have had no issues even in snow or rain. It still lights with one push of the button after 3.5 years. I'm not sure about the canister. I have had no problems, but I typically use the 20-lb tanks. Check with the manufacturer. They can tell you more. You will not regret getting this grill. The only question is which color?
When I got mine I didn't have a stand. I found a cheap crappy grill for free locally and removed the grill box and attached wood to the top and used the legs for my grill stand. I added some wood and hooks to the sides for my accessories. overall I like it and it is a little higher than the normal height of the stands. The ONLY think I am not too fond of with the Qs is the side shelves. They serve their purpose but sometimes a little too flimsey especially if you are out and about and the ground isn't perfectly flat. I use the shelves on the salvaged legs and they are much more stable for home cooking. It's easy to pop off the shelves that come with the Q so they don't get in the way!
I have been so busy I have had troubles keeping up with my favorite Utubers, and your one of them. This vid is a bit different from your normal stuff, yet really well done. I believe you have finally convinced me to get a " Q " . So keep on grilling and filming. 🍔📹
Nice video, are you still getting to use your Q1200 since you move? The roasting rack and the foil shields are still available in Europe, I have just stocked up on some of the latter for the new season even though I have some left over from last year. It's worth mentioning the rotisserie for the Q1200. It's great for chickens and small/medium roasts but can't handle the accessories that Weber sell to work with their other rotisseries with the exception of the skewer/kebab set (but only using the short skewers). I was thinking about your comments about the thermometer. Have you tried using a clean grill brush to brush across the burner? I found with mine the holes in the burner close up with a little rust. This is easy to remove with a grill brush but make sure it hasn't been used to clean the cooking grate. If it doesn't improve you could try replacing the thermometer or using an ambient temperature to check how the grill is performing.
I haven't grilled in a few months. There's no grilling area in my new complex here in Manhattan. Once the weather warms up a bit, I'll take the Q on the road for some grilling vids in the country. I also may be able to grill on my buddy's rooftop overlooking the city. That should make for some good vids. Thanks for the tip on the rotisserie. It's definitely something I should look into.
@@GallaghersGrub Thanks for the reply, I look forward to seeing you taking the Q on your road trips (something I must do more with mine this year). Maybe you ought to get yourself a Weber Pulse for a little bit of indoor cooking. I'm quite lucky as I have a back garden (yard?) to cook in. I have the Q1200 plus a few other Weber Charcoal BBQs of various sizes plus a Smokey Mountain. I often use the Q for smaller after work/weekday cooks if it's just me and my wife eating. The thing I love about your channel is that you don't let your lack of space prevent you cooking up some great food. I'm sure you will find ways to be creative in your new situation (inc some of your most recent videos) and I look forward to seeing more.
i love mine but i wish there were two burners for indirect heat. The rack is really great I do the same with a copper chef tray and rack but without the tin foil it burns.
Any idea how many ‘cooks’ one can get out of the little 1lb propane tank before you have to change it? I worry that I’m switching to a new one before I need to.
Nice video. I own an older Weber Q model 200. Came with a different style cart where the 20lb tank sits on the cart under the grill and it came with the adapter hose and cover as well. Doesn't have a split grate like the newer models. Overall it served me well over the years. Like you I leave it out exposed to the elements with the Weber cover over it. Two faults with it: 1 - The burner does not have a shield over it and over it appears to get clogged with grease? and/or debris and does not light all the way around until it gets hot then all the little holes ignite. 2 - The dedicated Weber cover is not that good. The back portion that sits over the lid is made of a mesh fabric. Why mesh? The grill sits outside and the cover is supposed to protect it from the rain, snow, whatever. Mesh does not protect it. Bad design Weber. The good, still lights with one push of the igniter (partially as explained above). Overall I would definitely buy another one and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a smaller portable type grill. Weber is still the best in gas grills!
Yes, I highly recommend this grill. I think the domed lid makes it better than the portable Coleman grill. I don't bother covering grills anymore. Bought a cover a long time ago for an old Weber Genesis and never used it. I feel like they just trap the moisture inside with the grill. And they're kind of a pain to put on and take off all the time.
Just love your vids, keep them coming, you say you can't get the trays in the U S ,strange as we can get them in theUK, And here in France,a great extra is the spit roast .
Yes, it's very strange. I wrote Weber an email last year and they said the roasting rack or shield are no longer available for the U.S. market. I do need to look into that spit roast. Thanks for watching, Jeff!
Dude, I love your videos. I especially liked this one because of the mysterious saw sticking on the door. Its near Halloween and I was just wondering what might go on in that building. LOL
Had mine around 4 years now..not used much to be honest 10/15 times. Love it tho..Whats your thoughts on the new Weber® Traveler LP..Used one yet? seen one yet?
Not sure if mine is defective but, the flame (on high) is so minuscule you cannot see it in daylight. I couldn't even cook JiffyPop on it on high. I was able to cook eggs but I had to close the lid over the skillet and leave the handle hanging out.
@@GallaghersGrub yeah was just hoping I didn't have to bake everything and would be able to cook on it with the lid open but, doesn't look like it. Kinda weird having a skillet on the grill with the handle sticking out hehe
I have a 10.5-inch cast iron skillet with a shorter handle that fits in perfectly with the lid closed. Check out my beer brats vid here: ua-cam.com/video/TxSy-fm3fiI/v-deo.html
I'm having the same problem. I bought mine used. Almost seems like there's not enough pressure. Am using the small green bottles. I wonder if the hose attachment with a real tank would make a difference
@@AZTLANSOLDIER13 There is an attachment I bought on Amazon for under $10. Haven't used it didnt want to lug a big tank camping. I thought pressure might be the problem but, now I'm pretty sure it's the way it works. I may go ahead and spring for the griddle that you can swap out with one of the grills.
The little one pound tanks don't last very long. Maybe 3-4 hours of nonstop cooking. If you're going on a camping trip, I would recommend bringing two bottles. If you're grilling at home, the 20lb tanks seem to last forever.
I had mine for two years and it stopped working. I guess it’s the regulator valve. Did I get a lemon? It is covered under warranty but I have to wait a week and then install it - I had friends coming over to cook out. I’m definitely disappointed.

Fire Escape Griller did you try cleaning like this guy suggested? I don’t use my q1200 enough for it to be so dirty, but I have to think that cleaning it this way will fix the problem. The q1200 is too simple a grill to have any complex issues.
When you say air inlet, where is that? Where the heating element connects to the manifold?

Thanks Stuart. Seems like a good life grilling out on your boat... Enjoy!
I had a q1000 back in California. I just ordered a q1200 yesterday. I love these things.
Yes, they are great portable gas grills. And definitely make a great steak.
Your review of the Q1200 convinced me to buy one. It lives on my small patio along with the Weber 22” charcoal kettle.
Keep those recipes coming.
Thanks.
How do you like it, thinking about one perhaps as well versus a fuller size gas grill.
I agree. I think the higher dome really makes a big difference. Cheers Anita!
Great review! I found your channel after getting my first Weber gas grill! It has been a great joy learning from you! Thank you and cheers!
Great review Mike! I've had my Q2200 for over 2 yrs and couldn't be happier! Truly an awesome tailgate grill! Thanks for your time and effort in producing quality videos!
Thanks, Cris. Glad you're enjoying your 2200. My name is Brian btw. Cheers man!
I have only just bought my Webber q and I love it so far I have cooked a perfect roast pork with amazing crackling and a breakfast of sausage bacon and eggs , I wish I bought one years ago best barbecue ever ,and so easy to keep clean .absolutely love it .
Easy to use and gets great results. Definitely a great design by Weber. Cheers Jean!
Best grills ever.Had mine for years and use it often.Easy to clean and still works like the day I bought it.Purchased the small one last week to take camping.
For a little gas grill, it performs surprisingly well. Cheers Sam!
Since I bought my roasting rack ... I have a cast iron casserole pot I’ve mage amazing curries and Stews on the Weber ..... the roasting rack is amazing .... thanks to u and your Chanel
The roasting rack opens up a whole world of possibilities. It's way more than burgers and dogs.
Ive owned mine for about 7 years! ..stays outside uncovered grilled thousands of pounds of meat and still going strong with zero problems
Seven years and still going strong. Love that!
I've had my Family Q for 5 years, I grill every weekend, it looks and performs as the day I bought it..
Only word of advice clean the inside of the lid every 4 cooks,
the smoke stains are really hard to remove if you don’t up keep.
I probably have close to 100 videos featuring the Weber Q. You’re in the right place
Thanks Hobby addict. I would love to try a Kamado Joe someday.
Well, if you are ever in New Brunswick Canada, drop by!
Do the burners get greasy with fat dropping on them? The bigger Webber’s have the flavouriser bars that keep grease off the burners.
Yes, grease gets on the burner and it needs to be cleaned every once in a while.
Appreciate the long term review. It's nice to know the Weber Q will hold up over time. I'm really hoping Santa brings one at Christmas.
The fact that the ignition still works on one push I find amazing. Cheers Matthew!
Thanks for the video.
I was trying to make a decision on which one to purchase, the Q1000 or 1200 and you've just made my decision easier.. Going with the 1200.
Great video and I like how you kept it simple.
Thank you
Definitely go with the Q1200. Now the only question is which color??
The red one 😀
@@happyandprosperous3188 Nice!
Got the Q1000 - had it for about 3 months. Very happy - good size and portable
Yeah, it's a great portable. Cheers Stix!
just bought one mostly for the portability cuz we aren't allowed to have grills at my condo - it's super discrete and easy to clean and hide away in a matter of minutes - I disconnect the propane tank and store it outside for safety reasons - i'm definitely loving it so far
Not to mention it cooks a fantastic steak! Cheers Weston
Very strange indeed. I think the Weber Q's are just more popular in Oz. Cheers Brian!
I just use an old toaster oven rack and it's a perfect size for the Q. Thrift shops or yard sales possible places to find a used one.
Great idea Sea BrzJo!
The roasting rack is a must have. I did molten cakes and a loaf of bread on mine.
A must have indeed! Not sure what molten cakes are, but I'll Google it. Thank for watching man.
Good job. Just got my first BBQ (W Q3200) & I’m looking forward to getting started.
Nice! I haven't tried the 3200, but people love it. Enjoy George!
We just got ours and it's perfect for our apartment and boat. The meat cooks nicely. Good quality grill and cool color options too.
Love both your videos and those from Chicago Griller.
Awesome! Thank you!
Very happy with mine. Have you had to replace your regulator? I dont get a good light when starting the grill. Burner is new. I usually have to shut the top and let it warm up before the entire burner will light.
I have not had to replace the regulator. It sounds like you may have a problem with yours.
we've had our Q1200 for 4 years or so. Love this thing. Best grill ive personally ever owned. Not that that says much, Ive never owned any bigger grills
Got me all the details I was looking for, and more! Thank you for the review!!
Glad I could help. Cheers!
I have BBQ for many years using charcoal then moved to gas but then the Weber 2000Q has enhanced my barbecuing experience to a different level.
The Weber Q is a great design and I highly recommend it.
Came across your channel while researching what typ2 of portable grill to purchase. Just picked up the q1200. Enjoy your videos. Subscribed.
Welcome aboard! Enjoy your new Q. It's a great little gas grill.
Great review! We just bought ours tonight and I can't wait to try it out!
Well... how'd it go?
@@GallaghersGrub We haven't had a chance to try it yet because we haven't been at home to do it. But hoping to try this weekend!
I absolutely love my little purple Weber Q.💜. I even went out and got a few of the many accessories that they offer for it. Thanks for the tips. Good vid.
I probably have close to 100 Weber Q videos. Definitely lots of ideas for you.
Great review! Looking to buy this grill soon.
Thanks Rupak. It's a great little gas grill.

Great Review! My mom has one, I love to use it when I’m at her house. If I ever buy another gasser it will be a Weber Q.
this review exactly what ive been looking all over for cheers
Thanks for watching Luna. It's a great little grill that I think you'll enjoy
seriously considering this grill since it will be the perfect size for my apartment balcony I have an electric grill/smoker from cabelas but you don't get that nice flavor like you do from a gas grill
This is an absolutely perfect grill for a balcony. You will love it!
Thank you for your video... I am looking to buy a small gas grill as I live alone and usually cook just for myself.
The Q1200 is a great little grill. It's perfect for 1. Easy to use. And built like a little tank.
Nice video and would have like to see how easily it can be transported with the wheeled base. Is the barbecue stable while being moved on the wheeled base?
I have the same one love this thing, I have a cover, steel braided hose, and 5lb tank, and portable cart
Not sure we have 5lb tanks here in the U.S. but you can't go wrong with that set-up. Cheers, Jeschitown!
@@GallaghersGrub they are out there I found mine on Amazon link below, it's 1gal (5lbs) I like it because it's easier and lighter to carry, even when full, compared to the 20gal. Very convenient for travel and last good amount of time. Cheers brother like your videos!

It's a great little grill for a small family and taking on the road. You can't. go wrong. Cheers Anthony!
I love my Weber Q 1200 as a nomad it's perfect for me and use it daily.
Me too, Mike. It's perfect for my situation. Thanks for watching man.
Lol!
Another great video. Thanks for finding the time to keep informing us. Mike
Thanks Mike. Thanks for watching. Cheers man!
I have a Q2200. I noticed my temps not going as high as 500 over time. I took off my burner tube and cleaned out the inside of it with a pipe cleaner. That corrected it for me. There was some build up inside. Maybe that will help with yours.
I think I'll give that a shot.Thanks Joseph.
I use tip cleaners that are used for oxy/acetylene cutting tips. Works perfect. You can get these from a welding supplies shop.
It might not get as hot. But it still sears a steak to perfection. Cheers Stephan!
Great video. I am giving my son my Weber Genesis and buying a Q1200 for us . There is just the 2 of us and that grill should be plenty big enough for us. Your vides are great. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, Bill. Both of those grills are excellent choices. Cheers!
I get my Q1200 on Wednesday, 5/13/2020 - CAN'T WAIT!!!
Let us know what the first thing is you cook on it. So many possibilities...
I got my q2200, which is the same as the q1200 just a little bigger, a couple of days ago and I love it!!! The q series are amazing and have great built quality.

Weber released new Weber Q models. Are you going to review those?
Thank you! Helped make my decision
Enjoy your new Q. Cheers Nikki!
Love your videos man. Just bought a Q3200 down in Aus. Agree with the Charcoal sentiment too...Happy grillin' brother....
Thank you mrchopper72. Cheers man!
I’ve had mine for about 5-6 years and now replacing parts & still not working yet 😫 next trying starter & regulator hope that does it .
good night my friend! big fan of the channel here!
Great vid, I'm getting one this weekend! How long does or how many BBQ's can you do with one propane can?
The small 1lb tanks only last me about a week or if I'm grilling a lot about a weekend. The big 20lb tanks last months, even with long cooks.
Thanks for getting back to me matey! Cheers
Cheers Red!
Fire Escape Griller I couldn’t resist your cooking and couldn’t wait for the weekend. I ended up buying the Q 1200 this afternoon and will try your buffalo wings recipe. Thanks from Sydney, Australia!
Bought the baby Q in early 2005, it is 2023 and still have and use it regularly best investment I've ever made
Yep! It's a great little gas grill. Cheers G L.
Good review! It looks like it's holding up well. I never noticed that you can hang your tools on the stand. I'm really happy with mine as well!
I just noticed the tool knobs this summer after owning the cart for almost a year. It's the little things...
Good review, thank you. I just ordered mine
Hope you enjoy it! It's a great little grill you can take on the road. Cheers!
Great review, decided to go with the q2200 for our camper!!
Sorry I missed this comment. Enjoy your new Q!
EXCELLENT!!! THANK YOU for your Wonderful Review!!!🙏🙏🙏
Glad you enjoyed it!
Can I use this for a small deck
Yes, and it'll be perfect. You'll love it!
I need to get the griddle.
Yes, it's especially great for smash burgers. Check out my sliders video for inspiration. Cheers Jim!
i love mine but i wish there were two burners for indirect heat. The rack is really great I do the same with a copper chef tray and rack but without the tin foil it burns.
I think I need to use mine more often thanks for the review.
Anytime. Thanks for watching!
Cool review, I'm about to order one of these on Amazon and thanks for the info about the black grease, so I'm gonna order the black one. Thanks
I think you'll be pretty happy with this grill. Cheers Lucian!
Great work my friend.
Thank you! Cheers!
Any idea how many ‘cooks’ one can get out of the little 1lb propane tank before you have to change it? I worry that I’m switching to a new one before I need to.
I made a video on the Coleman tanks a while back. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/rKzj-U-8UyE/v-deo.html
I have the Q2200AU in black. It’s a great colour for hiding those grease smoke marks.
Black really is the way to go. I've got the light colored one and it's stained too.
Just love your vids, keep them coming, you say you can't get the trays in the U S ,strange as we can get them in theUK,
And here in France,a great extra is the spit roast .
Yes, it's very strange. I wrote Weber an email last year and they said the roasting rack or shield are no longer available for the U.S. market. I do need to look into that spit roast. Thanks for watching, Jeff!
Thinking about buying the 2200 or the spirit II... not sure yet
Tough decision. I just used a Weber Genesis II this weekend and it might be worth the extra $$$. Good luck!
Curious as to why you don't cover a $200 grill ?
Covers trap in moisture when it rains.
Dude, I love your videos. I especially liked this one because of the mysterious saw sticking on the door. Its near Halloween and I was just wondering what might go on in that building. LOL
Haha. This is at my cousin's house in Brooklyn. That saw handle is a custom handle he made to open and close the shed. Cheers Wayne!
Had mine around 4 years now..not used much to be honest 10/15 times. Love it tho..Whats your thoughts on the new Weber® Traveler LP..Used one yet? seen one yet?
I haven't tried one. I am thinking of picking up a Go Anywhere or Jumbo Joe this year. We'll see. Cheers man.
Not sure if mine is defective but, the flame (on high) is so minuscule you cannot see it in daylight. I couldn't even cook JiffyPop on it on high. I was able to cook eggs but I had to close the lid over the skillet and leave the handle hanging out.
With the lid closed, your grill should reach around 500 degrees F.
Check out my beer brats vid here:

I'm having the same problem. I bought mine used. Almost seems like there's not enough pressure. Am using the small green bottles. I wonder if the hose attachment with a real tank would make a difference
@@AZTLANSOLDIER13 There is an attachment I bought on Amazon for under $10. Haven't used it didnt want to lug a big tank camping. I thought pressure might be the problem but, now I'm pretty sure it's the way it works. I may go ahead and spring for the griddle that you can swap out with one of the grills.
Got the black one. Wanted orange or blue, but didn't want to wait for shipping. Very hardy. Ive beat it up and it keeps on ticking!
Weber makes very robust products. My Q is going very strong and I've got a 15 year old Weber Kettle that works great. Cheers Fenrir Fire!
Great review...how long does the little bottle of propane last?
The little one pound tanks don't last very long. Maybe 3-4 hours of nonstop cooking. If you're going on a camping trip, I would recommend bringing two bottles. If you're grilling at home, the 20lb tanks seem to last forever.
I had mine for two years and it stopped working. I guess it’s the regulator valve. Did I get a lemon? It is covered under warranty but I have to wait a week and then install it - I had friends coming over to cook out. I’m definitely disappointed.
Weber quality with up to 12 years warranty

I bought 4 portable Weber Go Anywhere Gas Grills a few years ago for a total of $200 and 3 of the Grills are still new.
I've not tried the Go Anywhere grill, but it seems pretty light and portable. Weber makes great products, so I'm sure they last. Cheers rhino62!
