    Hey my friend,
this is exactly the same way as i do that here in Germany.
A friend od mine found a sandblasting company and for a good and reasonable price they clean the inside of the grill.
After that procedure the Q looks even better than factory fresh.
    Cant wait for part 3
    Best regards
    Dee

Same here. Just yesterday I bought a Q1200 for like nothing. So I will clean it and resell it next week.
Meanwhile my wife’s car has to stay out of its garage, because I need it for storing all those grills. Hahaha.

I found a flap disc on an angle grinder is much quicker than a wire brush wheel to clean open surfaces of the grill box and lid. It has more control and better safety too as you're not fighting to control the tool so much and it doesn't want to spin off & eat you like a wire wheel.

Suggest you use a ss painters wire brush on the grates. They do an amazing job on crud of any sort. Tried all sorts of brushes and now have settled on the painters brush. Ss is a must.

If you have any guitarist friends, have them save their strings or string clippings. You can use those like torch tip cleaners. Theyre also great for cleaning paint guns.

Enjoying the video. Tell me, does the wire brush clean only the baked in food remains or it strips down the paint (coating) as well. I don't want to damage the grill, just make clean it. Thank you

    • @GallaghersGrub

    • @GallaghersGrub

The way you clean it grill at 5:40 with the steel brushes, doesn't that break the material down so that it's a lot harder to get it off next time? obviously it doesn't matter, if the you you'd choose to clean it always would be with a steel brush on a screw machine.

    • @GallaghersGrub
      @GallaghersGrub 3 роки тому +1

It's doesn't appear to. Maybe if you did it all the time eventually it would break it down. I'm not certain. Sure gets it nice and clean though. Cheers Nikolaj!

If you have a self-cleaning oven, you can put the parts in the oven, let it run its cycle. Wife will be happy you cleaned the oven and the parts will be clean. I did that with my smokers grills and heat deflector. Disclaimer, my parts were steel.

Does anyone know if it’s okay to spray paint the outside bottom of the grill? Of course high heat paint, What about sand paper what grit would be good for light sanding?
    TIA

I'm sure it would be fine. Make sure to use a high heat paint used on fire ect. Can get it in cans.
Grit - start fine and see what doesn't scratch.
