Probably Stanzi's finest drive of his career. 12:25 Also love the head referee for some reason. He makes me think of a drill sergeant with how angry he makes the calls.
Great game. I was at a wedding during this game but I remember having to constantly watch the sports ticker on espn at the bar to get the scoring updates while the game was being played, and I was shocked and happy to see the highlights of the win moments later. Yeah I don't live in Iowa and I didn't have the Big Ten Network at the time.
i was in Burger Hall as a freshman watching this game with my roommate. suddenly everybody ram out off their room and screaming and cheering. gosh time needs to slow down!
If there's one team in the Big Ten that I really dislike it's Michigan State. I remember how they had so many "injuries" during last year's game when Iowa was marching down the field.
Sammy Shellenbarger Iowa is about like MSU, history wise. They are both good teams though look at the schools they have to play year in and year out: OSU, UofM, PSU, and Wisconsin!!! In my opinion, if you can hang with those schools pretty much every year your not bad at all.
The flag was thrown because helmet-to-helmet tackles are a violation of game rules. I'm sorry that you want people going out there trying to kill each other. It's just football.
I’m a spartan fan and the first thing I said when I saw that was that’s got to be a penalty. Especially looking at it today his ass should’ve been ejected
Greatest finish to an Iowa game I've ever watched, just remember freaking out when McNutt caught the slant! Awesome memory!

This was a team of NFL players being NFL ready. Miss these days
That look of astonishment from Dantonio at the end always gets me. I feel even pain even as a Hawkeye
Even though I know what's going to happen, that final drive still gets me nervous every time.
It’s not that either offenses were bad or played bad, their defenses were just amazing. Great game

Am I cheering ten years later? Maybe...of course I am!!! Go Hawks!
What a game. Hopefully we get a game just as great this saturday. Go Hawks!! #oniowa
Nice choice as always...thanks!

We don't like you either. Your coach is old.
I didn't know that Wayne Larivee called for the Big Ten. Super interesting listening to the packers radio announcer call a non-Packers game.
Would ware still be in the game today
IOwa went on to play in the Claim Jumper Bowl
Is that what the Orange Bowl was called?
The greatest ending ever.
(I don't mind the MSU basketball team though).
Was at the game and every fan on both sides including me were talking trash
That boy got knocked out.. I don't want my kids to play football.
I was at this game 🥺🥺🥲🥲
Go Hawks!!
Iowa hawkeyes vs Michigan state Spartans football
I will go to my grave with this, that hit was clean. Total crap call.
Yep. The flag was thrown days after the play was over, only when it was apparent he was really hurt.
@@Rodanguirus Exactly
Lot of missed calls against st
Targeted by Ware
And numerous pass interference by at.
And IOWA pinconed st good
Go HAWKS
Remember how Iowa isn't good at stuff ??and this play is sadly one of their best highlights of all time?
+Sammy Shellenbarger What exactly are you talking about?

typical Iowa. Atrocious offense !
Great defense will stop even the best offense!
Oh and that shitty personal foul call because dude got his ass lit up.

I believe that is a new rule. I may be wrong, but the only foul at that time was leading with the head.
Nope, at that time it was any helmet-to-helmet. It was recently changed to leading with head, which would result in targeting.
I'm from Iowa but that looked like a clean hit
that personal foul call was worst ever
I agree, I was there, awful!
How exactly is it a terrible call when helmet-to-helmet tackles, which is exactly what it was, are illegal. The personal foul was properly called.
Should have been ejection

Has Iowa ever had an offense?
Have you never not been a troll or a stooge?
