This is a most dynamic and astonishginbg recording of one of my favorite pieces of music. Need to hear Ariels's other renditions of Beethoveb quarstets. How lovely the adventre in mjsic can be,
I made all sorts of typos in the comment above. Ssorry. Can't see well enough to correct what I write. Getting deaf also, nevertheless at 85 what joy! I could die happy listening to the second movement. If that only could be arranged, I'd do it.
I love this piece incredibly and the Ariel Quartet plays it with the passion and artistry that envelops this first quartet of Ludwig Van Beethoven. What a startlingly beautiful rendition of such a powerful piece. Thank you so much for sharing it and I look forward to your future recordings.
Beethoven had allowed that the second movement of this piece portrays the separation from one who is deeply loved. Yet movements three and four are very light and happy. What is he telling us about confronting losses? If he, perhaps the greatest composer the human species has produced, could deal with saying goodbye to the sense of hearing, I suppose I can stop whining about my son having gone off so far to college.
im actually happy that the person coughed at the rest/fermata. Because now i can download the audio and cut the cough out of the recording. Rather than trying to remove it while the strings are playing.
@@ArielQuartet Thank you, folks! This is the best interpretation of this opus. I wonder how you are all so well in sync without a single conductor to string the performance together. It’s beautiful to watch and listen and learn.
Maybe that is so, but I think you can't deny that the way they play is incredibly expressive! Their movements may appear robotic because everything 'in terms of individual and quartet technique' is accpunted for to allow for such expressive playing.
The musicianship is a given, the accuracy is astonishing!
Already one of the greatest pieces of music, experts and artists all. What a performance. And that second movement. Goodness.
Agreed ❤️
This looks like it was so much fun! Great performance!
Absolutely was!!

"This entire final work of Ludwig van Beethoven"?
@@agseu3668 A late response to your query ... indeed, it was his first quartet composition. I have edited my comment.
very impressive performance.. thank Ariel Q.

La musique est apolitique, j'espère

het adagio: een evocatie van de grafscene uit 'Romeo and Julia' als hoofdthema 'Ich denke dein' aan Gravin Josephine Brunsvik de Korompa
We'd like to know the musicians names.
Excellent, thank you guys!!
Gershon Gerchikov, Alexandra Kazovsky on the violins; Jan Grüning, Viola and Amit Even-Tov, Cello. Thanks for listening ❤
extraordinario !!!!
thanks to the person who coughed up at 14:25, right on the "fermata"...
There are even trolls present at such things.
Even worse, it is not a fermata but a general pause!
People cough. Get over it. Why is this the top comment?
im actually happy that the person coughed at the rest/fermata. Because now i can download the audio and cut the cough out of the recording. Rather than trying to remove it while the strings are playing.
わたしは、この四重奏団は知らないが、音が生きてる。 溌剌として、力があり、魅力的な解釈で、エロース豊かな音。今を生きるベートーヴェンで、すばらしい。
O, Beethoven, o life!!!! 😁😁👍❤❗
Agreed 😊
is there a number by Gluck which resembles this?
Just delicious !!!
The portion from 19:00 is excellent :D Love the composition and the playing :)
Thank you ❤

OMG I LOVE #SonataForm :-)
Us, too 😊
Played this for Solo & Ensemble, but a bit slower lol
So did I ^-^
Consummate musicians.
Thank you!
Why men no show any skin, but women..... how is that?
Listen to the music !
rather noisy audience
their actions all look so robotic

Its a string quartet, for god sake, what would expect. Excellent performance

they're not robotic at all, they are feeling the music so much they can barely stay in their seats! how is that robotic?
Not sure how you'd expect them to play... Very curious, indeed.
