Great playing as always mate. Thank god for a bass player on UA-cam who understands that slap isn’t the whole deal!
WAIT WHAT? ILLEGAL!
Slap is the monkey spanking of bass playing.
Can't stand slap bass
Rather than thanking god, why don’t you just Thank this guy - it was his choice - I doubt he was influenced by the heavens...
BASS player here, PLECTRUM....YESSS!!!!
thank you! First time ever I apreciate a thing like that in my signal path
As soon as I heard that chorus and octave combined, I knew this was for me. Awesome review!
Nice review as ever, Dan!!
That's a great review. I'd not seen these before. Thank you.
This review was an absolute blessing. Ordered one before even finishing the video! Thank you!
Love your reviews Dan. Only problem is I end up wanting to buy everything you review - 9/10ths of which is certainly down to how good a bass player you are and how well you explain things.
This demo made my buy one of these on Black Friday...
Nice..I want one. Good tour,
Saw this review, sealed the deal. Got one. Love it.
Great demo on this incredible effects strip. I am new to Bass (having spent the last 25 years playing guitar and not progressing after 10 years..) and I wish I had heard about this device sooner (like a month sooner. Could’ve saved some serious dough if I bought this for $125.00 instead of the 3 pedals i have acquired so far @ $150.00-200.00 a piece 😬)
Still gonna grab up one just because of the price point! I mean, how could I NOT?? Lol
Got one!
Awesome review. Looking to get this. Wanted to know if the tuner can tune to sharps/flats. Need to tune half step down. Thanks
Really appreciate your review. Just ordered one and now I'm sure I've made a good choice.
Good choice!
What your thoughts about this gear 2 years later?
I just impulse ordered this thing, and I have a sneaking suspicion I won't regret it one bit. :D
Good review. Everything is truth. Very good pedal.
So when everythings turned off, its in bypass?
Was about to order the valeton gp 100 and then came across this. Dammit
Is possible use ony the fuzz option without the filter?
Do you know what the preamp output voltage is on this? I'm planning to run this into a QSC gx5 power amp, which requires 1.2 Volts of input voltage.
Thanks!
Can anyone who has this speak to how well it does tracking direct and sitting in a recorded mix?
Does the two outputs work at the same time? Like your jack output to your amp, and the xlr to the PA? or does it mute one or the other?
Great review. Can you put this together with an Orange Bass Bulter on a pedal chain? Or one preamp may damage the other?
I couldn't see why not :) You could experiment with placement in the signal chain, but you won't damage anything!
I have the Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig and I love it (although I rarely use it) but I'm not fond of the octaver or the distortion. Also, for $300 it should have come with a bag or case.
I really wish I had seen this first because it checks more boxes and the octaver looks a lot more usable and user friendly. I'm seriously considering getting rid of the Tech 21 Fly Rig and getting this one.
Hi i have a zoom B1x four, do you think I need to buy this one? I'm not an expert on bass guitar effects. Your advice would surely help. Thanks.
I bought a B3n and was instantly disappointed with the OD/distortion. Otherwise love the B3n. I bought this too a week later to compare. I'm leaning toward returning the B3n and keeping the Dapper Bass.
@@limestonetheband8104 Thank you so much. I might try to buy this one and see how this sounds.
Would anyone recommend this one better or the sonicake boom ave? Both sound like pretty solid options for me
I'm also interested in this question!
This has a little bit more quality to it as far as tone is concerened, the octave is we bit slow on tracking on the sonic boom but the Valeton is an awesome and functional piece of hardware!
All I use is this valeton and a cheap tc electronic fuzz pedal, and I have a really good tone for under 250
Boom Avenue is cool. This is waaaaay cooler.
From what I have found, they are both similar as far as construction goes. I believe this is the age old case of "no name" gear having the same supplier, just tailored to different needs.
Did I hear a cheeky bit of Doctor Who in there?🤔
The cousin of captain slow is right Nice bass pedal
Would one be able to use this for bass and the guitar? Or is it just for bass only?
On the Amazon questions the reply was bass, but they make one for guitar according to them. Hope this helps.
@@chizorama helps a lot actually, appreciate it
Hey Mr. V., nice review but you keep convincing me to buy stuff!!!
Can a regular guitar be played through this?
Yes. Literally anything that has input/output can be used on both. Whether you will get a serviceable tone is up to the knobs.
I used it as part of a guitar pedal board for a couple years. Excellent pedal for funk, soul, r&b guitar.
Octave moog ❤
That Precision sounds wonderfully fruity.
It says bass amp so is it a bass amp head or something like that?
Yeah kinda... a bass preamp
@YRD991 How would one go about using it with headphones? as far as I know, it doesn't have a headphone out, so it wouldn't work, right? It's the only thing keeping me from buying it tbh...
Pair it with a power section, and it certainly could be.
@@Changeproductions21 in my setup, I go from the DI out into a Beringer MA400, then out from there to the board (both XLR connections). MA400 headphone amp has volume for 2 channels, one mic and one monitor. Neat solution for what I needed
@@MegaDoug That is a good solution. Wasn't aware of the MA400, that looks like it would work for a lot of home playing/recording situations
Sounds like the Dirty Q is a Bassballs clone
I wish all the other bass pedals that look like this swapped their octavers out for a chorus. Kind cool that this one has both but the others could use a much needed chorus
Sounds like an amplified fart
