Thanks for the video! To get the belt back on, you need to do the reverse of what he did to 'walk it off'. You need to turn the pedals clockwise, and start the belt on 2-3 threads at the bottom (6 o clock position). When starting, the belt will be on the threads from 6 o'clock to around 11-12 o'clock where it will be too tight to stay on. Find a thin flat piece of metal, something like the blade of a butter knife. Wedge that metal between the belt and the wheel at the 11-12 o'clock position. As you rotate the pedals clockwise, hold the metal piece steady, and the metal piece will help lever the belt into place on the wheel. At this point, you should have the belt fully on 2-3 threads of the outer wheel. To continue to walk it further on, push/guide the belt further on the threads at the 6 o'clock position and continue to turn the pedals clockwise. This will work it further onto the wheel.
No, I don't think It has anything to do with the crank arm. you may have seized bearings or the drive belt may have gotten caught. the actual issue may become apparent if you remove the side shields.
the belt routing for this bike is pretty straight forward but make sure it is around the crank and flywheel pulleys with the ribs against the pulleys. The nuts on the Eyebolts that hold the flywheel in place can be loosened to bring the flywheel back toward the crank pulley if you need les tension on the belt.
I had to replace the flywheel and cannot get the belt back on either. It’s too tight. I’m going the opposite direction in which it was walked off. What’s the trick to get it back on?
It all went well until I got to the right crank arm. It seems to be completely stuck whereas in the video it just seems to slide off at that point. Any advice?
If the threads for the pedal strip out (usually because the pedal is not assembled tightly) you may need to replace the crank arm. Some very early models had a warp In the pulley that cause a rub on the frame and this is how you would swap out the pulley.
There is no trick. It can be walked back on the same way it was walked off. If you need to make adjustments to the belt those instructions are in the users manual.
Thank you so much for posting this, I have been so irritated with trying to replace this damn thing. Who would have ever guessed you had to take all of that off?
The center screw on the older unit is 3mm and the 2 clamp bolts are 5mm. there is a new crank bolt that uses a larger size it is either 4 or 5 mm. I'm not sure which.
@@FitnessEquipmentHelp Is the new crank bolt with the larger hex part #6106369? I need to replace my old one since it strips out easily. It only has a a few tightens before it strips. Not going to replace it with the old part.
@@summerville22432 The new crank screw is not backwards compatible with the older style crank arms and crank pulley. Some are also left hand thread. The crank screws are specific to your model and version of the bike.
Nice video! How much does it cost the crank arm with pedal..My pedal after a couple of usage broke..precisely the male thread of the pedal turns loosen inside the female thread so basically need to change the crank arm + pedal..Would appreciate if someone will tell me the price for it ?
The cap that holds the left crank in place often unscrews itself while riding. I first tighten the cap and then the 2 screws on the shaft. Am I doing something wrong? Could I be over tightening the screws?
@@whitelighting4815 Truth is… I haven’t exactly “fixed” the problem. I do, however, keep the proper size Allen wrenches nearby, and I tighten the cap and side screws every 2-3 rides. I don’t crank them hard! I just lightly hand tighten as needed, and they haven’t fallen off since. I figure that’s just regular required maintenance, the same way you’d check your tires on a real bike.
I put a little loctite thread lock on it and it stayed on for a year until I had to replace the bottom bracket. I had to cut a slot into it and use a screw driver to take it back off. The 2mm hex wrench head on it is wayyy to small for a part that important.
@Fitness Equipment Help Can you share a video of "just reversing the process" in order to get the belt back on. That has not worked and I've had two grown men try. I am a grown woman and would like to have my machine working again. It's a fine video for the most part, but it does seem like the trickiest step has been left out intentionally. Or anyone please help!
I'm sorry walking the belt back on is not usually tricky. If you are finding it difficult then I would recommend moving your flywheel by loosening the nuts on the end of the eye-bolts so the fly wheel can move closer to the pulley. you will then need to re adjust the tension of your drive belt once it is back around the flywheel and pulley. I won't have the ability to create a video but you can watch this gentleman's video where he show's how he put the belt back on. He also loosened the nuts on the flywheel I bolts to make the process easier. ua-cam.com/video/90LUwQzz3Do/v-deo.html I hope this helps.
@@FitnessEquipmentHelp Thank you for the reply. I have tried the loosening of the flywheel without results. Do you have a video of walking the belt back on?
Would you happen to know the crank arm size, such as 172.5 mm, 170 mm etc... It does not appear in the manual. I have the s10i model but I am sure it is the same for both the s15i and s22i.
My left crank arm won't just slide off the crank. Anything to try to get it off? Also, it would be nice if the video showed putting the belt back on just to make sure if you have to make any adjustments that they get adjusted right.
The left crank arm should come off easily when the clamping bolts and the center hub screw are removed. I haven't seen one that is difficult but if needed you could use a jaw/pulley puller to help pull it from the axle. Make sure the allen head screws are loose and the hub screw is removed. :)
@@FitnessEquipmentHelp I'm having this problem as well. We have removed everything and have been fighting with it for weeks. It won't budge at all. It's like it is stuck. We even put WD-40 to help loosen but still nothing.
@@susanphillips9432 You may want to employ the use of a jawed pulley puller tool. WD-40 is good but it may not penetrate deeply. you may want to get a lubricant that is designed as a penetrating oil if you are having too much difficulty.

you may want to add a drop of blue (non permanent) thread lock on the cap threads. make sure to tighten the cap with the 2 clamping bolts loosened then tighten the clamping bolts to help hold the cap. Make sure to tighten the bolts at least two times. (After tightening the first bot and then the second bolt, go back to the first bolt again and tighten it a little more. Then go back to the 2nd bolt.)
This repair is only required to replace the right crank arm or crank pulley. You can use any pedal you wish (that uses a 9/16-20 thread) by simply unscrewing the pedal from the crank arm and attaching you own pedals. You will find it helpful to use a pedal wrench. Many adjustable wrenches may be too beg to get the pedals tight. It is also good to know that the left pedal is reverse threaded. This video may be more useful:ua-cam.com/video/iSH9Wy0Acfk/v-deo.html
@@FitnessEquipmentHelp Appreciate the info but I'm using Look Keos because that's what I have on my road bike and my bike shoes, and they don't have the 15mm nut on the spindle. You have to install them via hex wrench on the end of the spindle.
