Bob. You rock. I wish I would have known this when just weeks after getting my bike the pedal fell of and the belt misaligned. IFIT replaced the belt but it was all problems from there. I’m 160 pounds, ride 3 times a week for the last year and this problem I just fixed due to your video makes my bike feel brand new. It’s the tight smooth ride I expected. Mine had gone on so long that the bearings inside were busted up and the old casing was shaving off. If you take your cover off and you see metal scraps and have the sound and grinding it’s likely the cheap stock they put in. A little tip if you can’t get your left pedal shaft cover with the tiny hex off and it has stripped out. Get a drummer tool, metal blade and cut a slot over the hex insert so you can use a screwdriver to loosen and take off the left crank. That’s why I had to put up with the worn out grinding on the bike because I could not get the pedal off to see the damage. Thanks so much for your video.

Also Amazon had the part but it was 5 days. I just called my local bike shop and they had the exact part for the same price. I bought the tool, it’s critical to get it off on put it on right. Putting the belt on and off I just hooked the front first then started the belt on the back in the groves and just turned the pedals to force it on.no problems and I don’t have to mess with the tighten loosen mechanism

Bob I appreciate your video. My only suggestion is you could mention socket and wrench sizes. I am headed over to the in-laws, they are tool challenged so I will have to take the whole toolbox to ensure I have the correct tools. Just some feedback, your video was very helpful. I really like the tape on the socket trick. Thanks so much!

This video was very helpful. Thank you for the recommendation of Shimano bearing. The only difference between my experience and your video was getting the old bearing off took a lot of effort. Was not as easy as you showed it. Might be due the first assembly. I paid for professional assembly. Putting the belt back on was a bit of a challenge too.

Thank you so much. I followed your instructions and replaced the bottom bracket on my S22i with the new Shimano like you recommended. When I removed the original bracket it was in pieces inside and ground up.The difficult part was removing the belt and putting it back on. Make sure that you align the belt right in the middle and that the spin wheel is centered right over the magnet so it doesn’t scrape on the sides. Otherwise brilliant instructions. My bike does not make one sound. The crank assembly moves like butter.

What a great video. It's terrific you had the patience to show everyone how to replace the bearing. Also you indirectly exposed how NordicTrack/iFit chose to spend $10 less to use an inferior bearing to increase their profit margin rather than to provide a higher quality product. I mean when everyone's cheap bearing fails who's going to want to spend money on all the tools you used to do what you accomplished?

Great video. Was having noisy bearings after four months, found this, and with a few hours work got it smoother than ever. Thanks, very well done, took a bit longer for me as I had tried to grease the shaft, and that made it too tight to turn etc, so had to take the crank shaft back out and clean off the grease and just let it ride on the new bearings.

My s22i was making an intermittent click and pedaling seemed to be rough. After combing through iFit/NordicTrack Facebook pages it was suggested the bottom bracket bearings may be bad. I searched on You Tube and found this video. I ordered the suggested parts and after following the video we were able to easily change the bearings and it makes a HUGE difference. When we took them off, nothing looked wrong to the eye, but the quality is much better with the Shimanos. Thanks for the great video!!!

For the 22i the bearing specification is BC1.37x24T This is a British standard for Bottom Bracket Bearings - not Italian 70mm. There are several bearing sets that are available that meet these standards. I was advised to avoid ceramic bearings because they fail.
I have had my 22i since 2019 with daily use. This is my first adventure replacing the bottom bracket bearings.

@@jeremiegrund Any 68mm english threaded bottom bracket spec'd for a 24mm spindle will work. The OEM bottom bracket has a 44mm cup size which is the size of the tool used to take off the bottom bracket shown in the video. The bottom bracket I bought had a smaller cup size than the original one but it still fits on the frame because the threading and width are the same. It's hard to find the larger 44mm bottom brackets now since it looks like most manufacturers have gone to a smaller size.

The NT bearing is crap. It can be purchased online for ~$10-15 (or of course, going through NT). If you are doing the work yourself I suggest upgrading to a better compatible bearing ~$40 (if I recall correctly).
