I arrived from Dublin into Brum. We had to pass through a special branch check point. I recognised one of the staff and we chatted as we approached the check point. On reaching i just got waived through without my passport being checked..

Not written by Dahl. Very few of the stories after season 2 were written by him. And so many plot holes! Interviews with the passengers after disembarkation would have highlighted the fact that there was a female and a male flight attendant on board, but the airline’s records would have shown only one - Milly -being rostered on for the flight. Likewise with the ATC recordings of the cockpit conversations. And no reason for Milly to confine herself to the toilet after the passengers had disembarked.
Actually it's the internal pressure that keeps the doors sealed in place like a plug. At 3000' and depressurised they should open ok. We have a procedure with smoke where if it's really bad you open one of the cockpit windows to land just to clear the air enough so you can see the runway, same principle and by that stage the aircraft has equal pressure inside and out.
I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I like that this show doesn't give a censor-approved follow-up, such as we get from Hitchcock's series, that lets us know that the bad guys did not, after all, get away scot-free.
Steward (Sean Barratt) also does the announcement in Father Ted (A Christmassy Ted). This is followed by a parachute-style exit from the department store.
