Really sad Mathew lillard didn't want to star in this. He knew his decision was going to make or break this movie. If steve-o knew his best friend had a child. Uncle Steve-o would be there to guide this teenage bastard.
+Mark Johnson He might have a cameo - you never know. It would be pretty hilarious to see a straight laced looking steve-o roll through everything...then open his mouth and basically shit on everyone with words, lol.
+Mark Johnson Nice thought. But Lillard's character realized he was a poser. And decided to go to college and be a rich lawyer like his father. Which, for those of you who still entertain the idea that the punk scene is an authentic way to rebel... didn't get. So go see if Hot Topic is having a sale or if Brodie Dalle has suddenly gotten some talent. Of course, anyone rebelling in SLC has got major balls, so more power to them.
+Mark Johnson This is not what happened. Stevo never came back to SLC. We wanted to tell his story which for James Merendino takes him in a lot of different places in the world. We might be able to pull an SLC punk 3 but it's a much bigger budget. So James focused on the part of the script that was about the scene in SLC 20 years later in Punk's Dead.
+SLC Punk! 2 Fans The main character matches the lead from girls to much but as a male. Also his look is wrong and the supporting cast are to Disney cookie cutter. Should of had a rewrite mid way through shoot and actually got Lillard. Flop and not a classic. Just like Hackers 2.
This was a great trailer to allow me to only spend minutes of my time to tell me to never watch this movie. It even does the thing where it basically tells you what happens at the beginning, the middle, and the end. Thank you to whoever edited it.
i'll never watch it either. it's just a bunch of clueless zoomers trying so hard to be cool like the older generations that their snowflake asses try so hard to emulate. annoying fucks.
First impression when I heard about this movie being made: This is going to suck. First impression after seeing the preview: Looks like we'll at least get a good soundtrack out of it all. Second impression after seeing the preview: Refuse to read comments because no matter how good or bad this movie actually is, people will still be starry-eyed fanboys or elitist fucktards about it, and at the end of the day we're all just a bunch of posers anyway.
+John Doe I think the whole punk scenes are posers. Because all they do is judge you by how you look, and by how cool you are. I never stop myself from having friends from any kinds of groups just because the way they dress. I was always up and about to either do good or evil, depending on my state of mind. I dont see myself as a poser because I was not a comformist ( and I dont see anyone as poser who are like that ) but I do see any punks that comfort themselves to the punk norms to be posers. +jo ad it does. SLC Punk was a chapter connected to youth and rebellion and the early days of Punk music. This chapter is 20 years later. Mixes aging characters with a new generation in a time when punk rock is an established music niche that has gone mainstream. Punk's Dead is more of an homage to the earlier times and nostalgic.

I was on the fence about this when I first heard it was being made - I still am a little bit, but it doesn't look nearrrrrrrrrrly as bad as it could look. I'm in. I don't and no one should expect this to be as magical as the original, honestly. You cannot capture the magic they captured in that first movie - but this looks like a decent spiritual successor.
+Trucitktub GAMES You're on point. First issue with re-ashing the first one, it was the beginning of the punk movement as in Fresh. The sequel happens a generation later. Can't be the same even storywise.
+SLC Punk! 2 Fans I know u get this question everyday, but any approximate release date, and is it hitting main theatres cuz lots of youngsters are gonna want to turn, well you know...
@@blairlohnes8103 To be fair, it's not punk at all. At all. BPM's thats it. MGK produces the gayest punk music ive ever seen. Punk music should talk or act punk. Not make music about needing drugs because you're sad about a girl. What's punk about that? Punk ass more like
They turned a social commentary of the human need for connection and meaning and finding it through music into a fucking coming of age road trip movie. Fuck this shit.
+Justin Rolfson They're also probably in the movie. They played a show that was filmed for the movie at least. Also Dog Party, 8 Bucks Experiment and Screeching Weasel were there. Good show.
Everyone looks so clean it looks fake... The old you dont have problems believing the characters... But theres something about this new one that doesnt feel raw. It feels like make up. Maybe its MGK he brings the balenciaga fashion punk into the mix and it hurts the story for me.

This movie definitely was missing the Steveo factor big time! Also, seems like Trish went from being a cool underground chick into a neurotic Mom type and Eddie became a rich, right-wing douchebag! For the most part the movie was disappointing. The first movie is where it started and should've ended right there.
Just watched it. It was ok. Not bad not good. First one was definitely better. Thought nd hoped there would be a greater ending. hope this means a slc 3!!
They should make another slc punk called Punks Revival and Steve-o deals with his trouble making kid but end the movie with Steve-o’s son not being a poser kicking someone’s *** standing for something. “MY SON IS NOT A POSER”
I'm definitely skeptical, not gonna lie, but Im holding out serious hope for this film. Not expecting it to try to live up to the original, as it shouldn't, just hoping for a good experience with some authentic punk vibes. Very excited for this.
+Michael Brown it's 20 years later so a little nostalgic of the era of the previous movie but showing that of course punk will always stay alive as new generations of rebels will keep it alive.
Does anyone know the legit reason Matthew Lillard didn't reprise his role as Steveo? I've read that he straight up declined the role but I'm having a lot of trouble believing that without hearing his reason why. "Quick cash grab" or not, it's nice to see what these characters are up too all these years later. I'm just sad we don't get to see Steveo pop in.
Everything that had to be said was done in the first movie. Idk about this.

forget what anyone says this is going to be badass!!! Fucking so stoked need a release date~ SLC!!!!
I'm so excited!:D People need to be patient, this is going to be the best!
I don't think it'll be as good as the original, but just having The Dwarves on the trailer will make me watch it
I will NOT be watching this in theaters!
I kinda feel bad for the ones that did….
Where can one purchase the dvd to this movie?
+Cesar Gustavo Macias tinyurl.com/hjq9dst
there you go!
Bob’s real Mohawk was a lot better than the fake one he wears in this movie
i c no punks right here
I dont think anybody is a punk anymore, just a bunch of brainwashed consumers looking to buy the next best fashion and stay trendy
+SLC Punk! 2 Fans I know u get this question everyday, but any approximate release date, and is it hitting main theatres cuz lots of youngsters are gonna want to turn, well you know...
rigoleum check this link it is playing in 20 cities feb 11 tugg.com/titles/slc-punk-2
Thanx :)
What's the song at 1:37?
+Reggie Lovato Everybody's girl by The Dwarves
SLC Punk! 2 Fans Thanks :) And the song at the end that mentions Salt Lake City?
Whats the name of the song at the end????
+Poison Ivy I'm not going to Salt Lake City by The DWarves

Does Mark come back or do they even mention him ??????
+prpunk187 SLC PUNK 3
but wait, there's more....there is? Lots more
SLC PUNK 3? JUST STAHP.
This movie is so good I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT
its on netflix....CRASH IS SO HOT
Machine gun kelly? Lmaoo wtffff
+Jake NHale lol this is such trash I cannot take it seriously and that's a huge reason.
In 4 years from this comment MGK will release a pretty killer punk album... Who knew. 2020 is fucked.
Watergun karen!!
@@blairlohnes8103 To be fair, it's not punk at all. At all. BPM's thats it. MGK produces the gayest punk music ive ever seen. Punk music should talk or act punk. Not make music about needing drugs because you're sad about a girl. What's punk about that? Punk ass more like
Where can I watch this? I don't live in the US
it's out everywhere mate
Is this movie ever going to be released?
so, is it any good? anyone?
Is this about beating some sense into heroin bobs emo son?
They turned a social commentary of the human need for connection and meaning and finding it through music into a fucking coming of age road trip movie. Fuck this shit.
When is going to be out?
Dwarves are on the soundtrack, have to see it.
+Justin Rolfson They're also probably in the movie. They played a show that was filmed for the movie at least. Also Dog Party, 8 Bucks Experiment and Screeching Weasel were there. Good show.
I remember this trailer with way different music cues.
When in Italy??
the existence of this movie is proof that punk really is dead
Yo wtf. Could've sworn it was called " punk's not dead "
Where can I buy this!!
+D.A .R everywhere
The first one was really cool, I have high hopes for this movie. Make me proud!
+Sabrina Avila we are just trying to keep you entertained.
Everyone looks so clean it looks fake... The old you dont have problems believing the characters... But theres something about this new one that doesnt feel raw. It feels like make up. Maybe its MGK he brings the balenciaga fashion punk into the mix and it hurts the story for me.
is that MGK?
yes
+Javier Avelar Well fuck me, that is MGK. When was this filmed? He looks like a kid in this movie.
OMG knew it
+Panicked Manic 2014
yo where steve-o..
What is the first song ?
The dwarves- I will deny
Check out our interview with the delightful Jenny Jaffe on Kettle Of Fish. We got real serious about mental health...then semi-serious about SLC Punk 2...then really silly about Pandas! Enjoy!
kettleoffish.libsyn.com/jenny-jaffe-talks-about-pandas-problems-and-punk-rock
Soooo.... where's Matthew Lillard as Stevo?
+Firrinys he left SLC and never came back. We told his story in SLC Punk.
Ahah aha. Where can I watch this Rad Bring back. 😁😄
Where can I watch this??
it bothers me that steve-o isnt in this one.. lol oh well ill still give it a shot.
+guinness4life He said he didn't want to do it.
Thought nd hoped there would be a greater ending. hope this means a slc 3!!
alguien sabe si se estrenará aquí en México y la Fecha? 💀
I'm just sad we don't get to see Steveo pop in.
woah. I know exactly where those grain silos are. I see them everyday :)
