Way too many chickens per coop. Ratio of roosters to hens is off and they definitely don't have enough room. Did you notice not 1 feeder had food. They probably ate it all and he just needs to refill but before filming his "chicken Mill" he should be filling food buckets. I personally was appalled by his set up.
Okay, we can see you put in A LOT of work in making your birds look good; nice bodies, beards, and full crests. And you get that from your hens. Whilst the color and the lacing from your males. So, if you ever want to "fix" those lacing (pattern) flaws or improve color you have to get the best looking males to do the job. Show quality polish are ubiquitous and easy to come by so you can easily do it. Rarer birds I could sacrifice a little bit of form with my males, but never with their pattern or color and vice versa for the gals. Your gals have great bodies so breed them, even though they have less-than-perfect pattern.
Hi, great channel I love the setups as I've been going through the videos. I noticed it's been a while since you have done a video. I would love an update!
@@dutchbrothersfarms1967 I'd recommend setting up maybe even some blue tarps and scrap boards that you can throw over top quick during heavy snow or sleet. that way you can uncover it again once the weather passes.
Do you have an email? I’d love to ask some advice. We have6 polish chickens now. The two oldest are the golden lace crested polish. At first we thought they were both hens. Then we started thinking they were both male because neither of them had the perfect round for like our black crested. Now one of them has developed small long feathers sticking up all through the top of the head. Looking very much like a roo but still not sure about the other because the feathers are fuller but nothing like the other. I’d love to send you pics if you don’t mind. I also have some questions about the breed
Thanks for the video!:) I have a question about polish chicks.I just got 2 this week they are like barely a week old,one buff laced and one gold laced,if you know how to tell if it’s a male or female when they are this small? 🙏🏻 thanks so much!:)
I'm sorry but in my opinion, some of your chicken coops are over crowded. You're going to have them pecking and bullying one another and no space to run away. Over here in Australia, it's 1'1/2 feet space requirement per hen. Good luck!
This video made me sad for these chickens. Concept is a great one but he's basically a "chicken mill". If there was half as many chickens or even less than that it would be more humane. Plus he should of filled the feeders before filming. 😢😢😢
Agreed. I made a comment about some of his pen were overcrowded. Here in Australia, it's 1 1/2 foot requirement for each chicken. Because they're hemmed in, it can cause pecking and bullying problems. Admittedly, I've never known a Polish chicken to become bullies. They're too gentle and docile, but here, that could change in such close quarters.
Oh you have beautiful chickens wish I could get out here to
I just came across thies beautiful stunning birds. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing the update, everything is looking good. Looking forward to more videos. Very nice looking Bantam Buff Laced. -Elijah.
Love these coops. Love the concept on how you build them. Awesome video. Love looking at all the different kinds of chickens.

What do you put on the ground of the coops? Alfalfa?
looks like you kept back a good number of each group to go through winter with. Any plans to cover the top of the runs or no?
No I didn’t plan on covering the top completely. I may do that though eventually.
