I have a pair of siblings that I am not breeding and who knows if the hen will ever lay any eggs, I just love them! They are the same age but she is so much smaller and delicate and he is now trying to "get" her. She sounds like a little girl when she screams and I feel awful. Not sure if he's been successful or not, but I think he just hit puberty. Should I separate them?
polish chickens arent very hardy, so they die easily. we just got two babies last year and died right away, so dont get your hopes up when getting polish.
Do you feed them extra protein? I’ve read some say they need extra. I have 5, 8 week old buff lace they have been doing fine on what I feed the rest of the flock.
I have a polish rooster with the white crest and he’s a little but head he loves to flog you and peck but he’s so darn cute just like the other day he was not going to let me back in the yard not sure what to do
Do you have to clip the black and white Polish wing feathers to keep from flying over your fence? I have one I am thinking to free range and he's the "adventurous" one of the flock!
I have a buff laced rooster. He was handled a lot while growing up. He’s 21 weeks now and is not docile I. The least. He’s come to charger me stomping his feet and attacking me. He never stops crowing even at night in the coop. He’s a menace at times to the girls. I don’t know what has gotten into him or what to do.
Hormones kicked in. I don’t get roosters until they’re well over 6 months old so I know what their real personality will be. I learned that hard lesson with a leghorn I raised from a day old..always sweet and handled then around 6 months he started attacking everyone and is very aggressive. He stays in a run with a few of his hens and is not allowed in the main yard.
Hi, I loved your vlog, and the star of the show. I had a silver laced polish years ago, named Tenny she was so fun. And the others use to pick on her, she would follow me around, all day. I have plans to get a new flock, and rally enjoyed watching yours run around ,, I call it chicken TV,
I moved into a house the first of the year that has a big chicken coop and a small one. I have never had chickens, however, my daughter has around a dozen. She bought a few Polish ones about a year ago & I think they are the cutest things. She set me up with non-Polish chickens, 2 hens & a rooster. I just got my first eggs yesterday, that was really cool.😊 I am wanting to get some polish laying hens & a Polish rooster. I don’t know of anyplace around here to purchase some so I plan to order them online from a hatchery. I was thinking of around 5 hens and one rooster. I live in NW Georgia. Did you purchase yours online as baby chicks or full grown chickens?
You are very lucky to have gotten a house with chicken coops already! I am on the east coast as well and I go to tractor supplies and sometimes they will have chicks and also a lot of states have chicken swaps. I got to at least 10 of them a year. People sell so many more things then just chickens they are a lot of fun and a way to meet other chicken lovers. I would ask your daughter if she has heard of them or if she could help you find some 🥰 good luck!
In animal encyclopedias, these chickens are of Polish origin. I think you've read some bad sources.
Nice bird.

How to tell male from female, can two males live together without females?

Adorable
We bought 2. My wife thinks they may be roosters. How can we tell? They are about 2 months old.
The roosers have kind of like a Rockstar tophat like the one I am holding in the thumbnail. The hens are more of a pom pom tophat, the look neater.
My favourite white crusted hen
Wow look so cute thank you for share the video+

@@jtgnative thank you 🙏🏼, I will ask my daughter about it, that does sound like fun😊God bless you and keep you in His loving care🛐❤️🛐
Overall, a good basic overview of Polish! With proper crest management they do rather well in colder climates.
