As someone who was able to go in blind everything you've said is right on the money, it's an amazing game that compelled me more and more every chapter. Some of the best humor in any game I've played while also being super endearing. My only regret was playing it RIGHT before this new version was announced.
I mean hey, your stream was extremely fun to spectate, and the modern version really just overhauls the music and graphics. Not a bad thing to have in a collection for when the dementia sets in.
I can't even complain that there is an entire half of a video I can't watch. Because this looks AMAZING. Something with a vibe this good is just what I needed after walking into work to read a memo dictating the expectation to do the work of 2-3 jobs going forward.

(Spoiler ahead) Like, if any other story would try to sell me on the fact that a fucking meteorite fell from the sky, pierced a guys chest and made him a poltergeist I would think "What were the authors smoking?" But this game is just so fun that it somehow works
Literally everyone who's played Ghost Trick (myself included XD) at someone showing even the slightest bit of interest: *chanting* "DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!"
Okay, but, important question: is the puzzle logic as infuriatingly "press the witness on every statement and pray"/"just google a guide" as Ace Attorney can be? Because I'm playing the tail end of first AA now and sometimes it feels like slamming your head against the wall or lucky-guessing over actually deducting. (The muffler wordplay puzzle in bonus 5th case can go and get shot in an elevator for all I care.)
As a huge hater of AA 1-5, I wouldn't say so. The meanest that this game's puzzles get are giving you a checkpoint after you pass a point of no return (you need to make a jump mid-animation and the checkpoint happens after it's already done)
The only infuriating thing is the prison section. That's about it. Nothing else that remains rampant throughout the game. And if you are having a difficult time, the game assists you in finding the answer. There's no wordplay. What you see, is what you get.
There are a few small moments that can be super frustrating: one checkpoint saves past a point of no return/guaranteed puzzle failure -though it's early on in the puzzle and the characters will point it out so it's not too much of a time sink to undo, one 'escort mission' that is easy aside from one very specific part, and specifically in the new port one puzzle requiring a specifically shaped object; the original DS version showed displays of possessed objects on the 2nd screen so it was a non issue there but the remaster removed that feature so the puzzle now has an additional layer of difficulty it didn't before. Other than those key moments though, the key thing about Ghost Trick's puzzles is that there's very little penalty for screw ups (specifically trial and error/poking at random things so you can work out 'what specifically needs to move when' is a core part of the gameplay so most if not all wrong solutions have hints on what you're meant to do, unique character moments, funny banter and the occasional bit of optional foreshadowing, so screwing up deliberately just to see what the characters have to say about it is not uncommon), and while you still might accidentally 'lucky guess' a few solutions while still in the 'testing stuff out' phase or end up slamming your head against a wall because you've overlooked a specific thing once or twice (later is pretty much always 'oops eyes/brain just didn't see that' which tends to be more a 'player needs break' than game issue I think), the vast majority of the time the puzzles are fair, the solutions don't require minimal moon logic *gives my otherwise beloved Ace Attorney a glare* , and about the only true frustration is the lack of a sped up button when once more waiting for the 'correct timing' moment to roll back around again, and even that's fairly minimal most of the time. Ghost Trick will always be one of my favorite games ever. I'm so glad it's finally getting its due so more people can experience it.
I already played AND beaten this game back when it came out in 2010 and loved it ever since.

I'll be real with you chief, BG3 is probably a better bang for your buck given that game's length. But keep this at the back of your mind.
