Fun facts about Proof of a Hero: - Each Monster Hunter game has its own unique rendition of the song. - It’s basically the theme song of the Hunter, and there are a very select few monsters in the games whose fights allow you to hear it
@@AleXiS-nk2ht When fighting Lao Shan Lung in Freedom Unite hits so hard for me cause it triggers at the final section of the fight where it's do or die
Almost all of the themes that play when you're fighting have two distinct parts: fight, and chase. They loop seamlessly between the two, and fights can take on average 15-20 minutes on a normal run. Sometimes longer if you're not really prepared. But of course with repetition and practice you can bring those times down by a lot.
Also, Proof of a Hero has been the main theme of Monster Hunter since the beginning, although World moved away from it slightly. It did get quoted in Pride of a Nameless Hunter (the woodwind part). It also almost always kicks in at the final phase of the final battle and it ALWAYS amps you up for it.
Proof of a hero usually plays in a huge endgame boss near the end, and so its become a meme that anytime a monster hunter player hears it, they become an unstopabble force of nature The song is kinda a final moral booster to push you to finish a long, grueling battle
Monster Hunter is more than simply fighting monsters. Each creature has a place in a massive ecosystem, we aren’t fighting demons, we are maintaining the order and learning everything we can about new animals and how they and we fit into the grand scope of nature. The hunters thrive in a culture of danger, we live for the action and smile in the face of adversity. And we aren’t just cave men either, we have organized units and teams dedicated to different facets of research across this incredible world of believable yet fantastical beasts!
in theory: yes agreed that is the canon. in practice: I am absolutely murdering as much monkés as I can to beat the crap out of an animal nicknamed "Archdemon of the Abyss" 👀☕️👌

There are soooooo Many Bangers in the Monster Hunter Franchise The og Proof of a Hero Mizutsune's theme Fatalis theme Safi'Jiiva Freaking Valstrax Malzeno Nargacuga There's soooo much to choose from. You can get to enjoy a wonderful musical variety. I will hope for more of Monster Hunte Reaction because it tickles my joy of seeing people non familier with Monster Hunter get to enjoy what it has to offer at least partially.
Pride of a Nameless Hunter has a very special place in a lot of world veteran hearts, because the final dev talk for the game had a very nice montage of all the special moments and events from the game and the updates, followed by an extremely sweet collage of community clips and photos from event game nights and such, giving the final iceborne update a very heartwarming sendoff.
Ever since the community post, I've been checking my phone nonstop for the notification. I really, really hope you check out more Monster Hunter soundtracks in the future!
Other good songs from monster hunter world specifically: safi'jiiva medley, kulve taroth medley, raging brachydios theme, tales spun through song, succession of light, fatalis medley, arch-tempered velkhana, arch-tempered nergigante. None of them are conected so u dont have to hear in any especific order, the ones with "medley" are 3 to 4 themes from the same boss so the are conected. If u dont know which to pic i sugest the safijiiva medley. The battles take around 30 min mostly.
To give some context: Bazelgeuse is a monster who's main attack strategy, is carpet bombings, and kamikaze dive bombs, and essentially only ever shows up when you're already fighting something else Also if you ever come back to this, you must absolutely listen to "Deviljho's theme" because it really gets across the theme of "this thing exists to ruin your day"
"there's a lot happening" is a VERY fair comment. Nergigante is a hyper aggressive monster and the music is meant to match the absolute ferocity and unceasing attacks that the monster performs. The constant driving beat, unnerving and restless energy from the strings, and the constant dissonance just leave you in a constant state of adrenal anxiety. AND I LOVE IT!!!!
Ok just a couple pointers for every piece: -Stars at our Back: yes it's the main theme for Monster Hunter World specifically. -Nergigante's theme: imagine a buff dragon with massive horns and covered head to toe in spikes. Next, give it Wolverine's regenerative powers and you get this absolute menace of an Elder Dragon (Elder Dragons are some of the most powerful and nature-defying creatures in the MH universe) which predates and EATS other Elder Dragons. Change the forset to a volcano/the back of a colossal turtle-volcano and you're right on the money. -Pride of a Nameless Hunter: it plays durings some especially difficult missions with some of the toughest Monsters in the game. It uses parts of the Main Theme as a leitmotif. -Bazelgeuse's theme: imagine if a bomber plane suddenly became sentient and decided to mess up someone's day. That's basically Bazelgeuse. He's a massive invasive flying wyvern that loves to fight anything that breathes for territory, he uses some specialized scales filled with an extremely volatile substance on it's neck and tail as a method to attack and protect itself, shaking them off and making them explode. Notorious for butting in your hunts with other creatures and creating incredible havoc. -Song of Guidance: iirc it plays during the credits? It's sung in the Monster Hunter language, which is 100% fictional. -Proof of a Hero: the Main Theme of the series. In this case, it the rendition made specifically for World (i'd give the OG version a listen, it's absolutely fire) and it plays in crucial moments during the hardest fights in the series.
This takes me back. I swear some days I wish nothing more to forget everything about monster hunter just so I could play through this game again with fresh start and re-experience those memories all over again
Well, something I really like about MH is that it's a really epic franchise... but also a really wholesome and positive one. Every character is energetic, wants to help and support you, there are practically no bad guys. One could say the Monsters, but the Monsters are just creatures living in this world and most of the times you hunt them for ecological reasons or to avoid people or other monsters to be harmed.
Nergigante is a monster thats known for hunting down elder dragons (monsters also known as natural disasters). It is not living in a forest but the running for your life vibe is accurate. That theme literally goes every time you fight it. Bazelgeuse is the b52 bomber plane of monster hunter that just drops on you out of nowhere. I can hear it's scream in my head every time i hear that theme. The theme makes you uneasy because bazel does. I'm a bit sad that deviljho's theme wasn't included tho.
"SPARKLES......things have changed..." caught me SO of guard I was cackling. Only just found your content and I love seeing your pure reactions to hearing these themes for the first time.
So a fun bit of lore, Song of Guidance is meant to be sung by The Diva, a semi-recurring NPC in previous games (but not World) who would do actual performances that you and your friends could watch. The Diva's voice stands out for her having such a strong Alto. She pops up in another Iceborne song and it's perfect.
I think if you listen to the Astera day theme as well as the Monster Hunter:Iceborne soundtrack: Nay! The Honor Is All Ours, and the Nergigante Arch Tempered theme etc You'll be able to appreciate a few more leitmotifs they had incorporated within these soundtracks here. Monster Hunter definitely has some of my favourite soundtracks in the games I've played. I love how you pick up all the other instruments and dynamics that people don't really mention when listening to the soundtracks, it's a breath of fresh air seeing you appreciate how it all comes together.
I have two favorites theme in Monster Hunter series. One is MH4 main theme “Wind of Departure “ which pumps up hunters. It is very cheerful. Another one is MHW “Stars at our back.” It shows the story of Monster Hunter World. The beginning is expressing the nature of the new world. Great wildlife and creatures live in. 1:24 how human do in this new continent they found. Build a base, preparing for research and explore it. 2:24 how both monsters and humans can exist together, main theme of the Monster Hunter World. How can we find the way to live with monsters and environments? Monster Hunter World is not just hunting game. It asks us a question who we are and how to live with environment. Stars at our Back Is presenting theme of story very well.
If you ever make some other monster hunter content, I’d recommend “succession of light” “raging brachydios theme” “Rotten vale theme” among others. They’re great tracks! The “shara ishvalda” and “safi’jiiva” themes are really good too
It's always a pleasure to see people react to Monster Hunter OSTs, and these are definitely some great tracks! Would definitely loved to hear more from Monster Hunter World and Iceborne because there are sooo many good tracks :3
Let’s set the scene for the Bazel theme: You and a monster are fighting to the death, trading blows, locked in combat. Then, out of the blue you hear an ear splitting roar, followed by the opening string triplets and the trumpet fanfare. A monster that’s as big or bigger than your current opponent flies overhead, scattering explosive scales over you and the other monster before dive bombing and crashing into you both. This fight has gone from a duel to a free for all, with you, the other monster and Bazel fighting for supremacy. You learn VERY fast to react to those opening notes before Bazel crashes the party.
The Monster Hunter franchise tends to take on a bunch of different journeys with their theme songs, I strongly suggest you check out a bunch of the actual Monsters theme songs. The Nergigante theme is great but I suggest you check out Fatalis, Brachydios and Raging Brachydios (Raging after the regular one), Cedeus, Safi’jiva, Kulve Taroth and Zinogre. Fatalis theme is on YT and the proper one to react to is about 9:35 long (I think it’s that long). Lastly the fights in MonHun CAN be up to 50 minutes long but that’s typically if you’re under equipped, first time fighting the monster or are VERY rusty.
Stars at our backs will always be one of my fav monster hunter music because it was my first time getting into the franchise. Next you should give monster hunter world iceborne a go. Then check out mh rise (ibushi, narwa, narwa the all mother theme) then sunbreak (mizutsune, malzeno and gaismagorn's theme). These are some really nice bangers.
Nergigante's theme is cool but you gotta listen to Arch Tempered Nergigante's theme Its amazing Some other great monster themes are:- Safi'jiiva Raging brachydios Malzeno Valstrax Ceadeus Narwa the allmother Kulve Taroth Fatalis (iceborne) Alatreon Whire fatalis The original proof of a hero
Monster Hunter music reactions could be a series unto itself, every game has a unique town hub theme, their own opening theme, several monsters have their own themes as well, the hunting grounds have their own themes and combat themes for the monsters that don't have their own themes. Shoutout to the coral highlands combat theme, I heard that so many times farming Kirin and Legiana... Special shoutout to Astalos, Zinogre, Mizutsune, Magnamalo, and Valstrax themes.
Stars at our Backs gives you a feel of what the life of a Hunter is outside the Hunt. Nergigante is a fight where half way thru you will start begging him to calm the hell down its after that you start offering him your cat as a chow toy so that he might calm down. Pride of a Nameless Hunter is your adventure music and in town music and if feels so good to hear its how you relax in MH and A Nameless hunter is every Hunter. Bazel thinks he is the main hero of the story and loves showing up while you are fighting any other monster he has bomb scales and its his job to show up and ruin your hunt and bully the hell out of unprepared hunters since he punishes mistakes more then most monsters if you are not paying attention to everything around you and the two giant monsters trying to kill you you will be taken out good fun thou. The Language is made up for the games and its a combination of Japanese whit a few other languages so you could actually learn the language its called Wyvarian the oldest people of the Monster Hunter world. Proof of a Hero is your Theme the theme that gives us the power to take that extra step every game has its own Proof of a Hero but they all share the same grandeur and that DUN DUN DUN is what gives you this "I GOT THIS I CAN DO IT" feeling no matter how bad thins look this is your Theme and they love blending Proof of a Hero in to Really oh shit fights
15:26 okay, so the general gameplay loop of Monster Hunter games is fairly simple. The loop is thus: Go to the quest giver, select the monster you want to hunt. While the quest loads, go to the food zone and eat to get your buffs and max out your health and stamina bars. Start the quest. If hunting, you have 50 minutes to wander the map, gather materials for item crafting, and actually hunt your quarry. Even for a complete rookie, if you're just gunning for the monster to hunt, it shouldn't take more than 25-30 minutes, the time limit is very generous. Veteran Hunters can usually push hunts down to around the 12-15 minute mark, speed runners can end them in under a minute of actual combat time. The music will fade in and out dynamically as combat progresses, as monsters can lose interest in a fight and run to another arena on the map, if that happens, the combat track will pick up where it left off as the ambience track fades out.
Oh MAN there's so many themes to cover. 20 years of the franchise, well over 200 monster battle OSTs alone, and Wilds comes out next February so there'll be even more, and the music seems to have been stated as even more dynamic music during battles. Welcome to the World of Monster Hunter! Glad you could make it :) EDIT: also for fun, the monster theme titles are as follows, along with a little bit of info about the monsters themselves for anyone else interested outside of anything presented in the videos: 06:16 Nergigante: Even Elder Dragons Tremble. (He is called the Eater of Elders, and Elder Dragons are walking nautral disasters incarnate, and Nergigante hunts and eats them) 15:47 Bazelgeuse: The Invading Tyrant. (The fact that the introduction to his theme sounds like sirens really hints at what kind of monster he is lol. He is a nasty monster who was actively programmed to respond to monster roars in the locale from what I remember. He would come in and carpet bomb your hunt (meaning you and the monster you're hunting) and then often flies away.) Invading monsters have been a feature in the series for a while, but they would usually just be in a particular zone you may run into and have to deal with. In World, they brought about seamless hunting locales, and with it came this monster that would actively come to ruin your hunts.) For potential future themes that some members may want to think about for selections, might I suggest: The Voracious Devil (Deviljho, either variant is fine by me lol) Morning Star of the Dark Tide (Namielle) The Legend Descends (Fatalis, Iceborne version) The Brilliance That Rules the Everstream ~Fury~ (Arch-Tempered Kulve Taroth, final phase, very specifically the part that plays when you break her horns off, it goes all out.) Sparkling Blue Light (Zinogre, any variant is awesome tbh) Red Afterglow Running in the Darkness (Nargacuga, any variant as well) Kokoto Village theme (My personal bias for this theme because it was MH1 was my introduction to the franchise) Dance of a Thousand Blades (Seregios theme) Furious Rampage and Tyrant of the Massacre (Bloodbath Diablos' themes from MH Generations Ultimate. Honestly such a good set of themes for one monster) Lunar Abyss and Moonquake (Ceadeus themes. Utterly perfect elder dragon.) To One With Life (Monster Hunter Tri's theme. It's so gorgeous, genuinely one of the few pieces that gets me emotional like Proof of a Hero) Brutish Indigo Rages (Raging Brachydios' unique theme added to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. So raw and brutal.)
Bazelgeuse happens to be my favourite monster. Essentially a giant bomber plane wyvern. the soundtrack is a good listen, and feels like a real battle (also the memes surrounding him are top tier). Also his roar has air siren inspiration, which just adds to it. IT ALSO HELPS THAT HE ALWAYS ROARS AT THE SAME POINT IN THE THEME, YOU CAN HEAR HIS ROAR WHEN YOU LISTEN TO IT AFTER FIGHTING HIM A BUNCH. he also just carpet bombs you randomly on hunts I just love Bazel, they broke him in Rise :(
You really need to go through Monster Hunter hits like The Ceadeus and The Amatsu/Amatsumagatsuhi themes. And the Tri opening theme. And the Jazz. A lot of jazz renditions of different themes. Also I'd love to see your reaction to just Qurupeco in general. Ya'know what, just do a play through.
There's a lot more than I can describe in a comment going on in the audio design in reaction to the changing scenario of the fighting, from being overwhelmed to gaining an upper hand and eventually triumphing over the monster. Each layer is brought in and out of focus depending on the situation. Hiding from the monster, running away, being at low health, or the monster becoming enraged, and eventually running away in fear of you. Also, there's a monster called Devil Djho that is very T-Rex inspired. The theme music for it is based on Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring that plays during the old Disney Fantasia T-Rex/Stegosaurus fight.
One of my favorite tracks from World is from the Iceborne expansion, titled "Nay! The Honor is All Ours". It's such a driving piece, filled with purpose and tension, struggle and victory. It's incredible.
The first track you heard is the credit track iirc. That's why it's such a "looking at the memory we've had. Now we happily carries on" theme. And also why it referenced so many other motifs.
Monster hunter as a series is so great that its hard to put into words as corny as that sound however in short its an amazing world that immerses you so well that you'll lose count the amount of time you put into it and judging by the 1500 hours I clocked in on world I think that speaks for itself
Between this OST and 'Just Look My Way', your friend Arc makes some good suggestions! You're right in thinking that _Monster Hunter: World_ feels adventurous. In brief, you play as a Hunter (think a combination of big-game hunter, nature preserve warden, archeologist, xenobiologist and zookeeper) who travels with a globe-trotting expedition to study dragons (though the franchise's definition of 'dragon' is pretty _generous_ in what qualifies). There's also a team of cats who cook up mouthwatering meals for the team, because Capcom is apparently the place to go if you're a furry foodie looking for a game design career. The fights' length isn't fixed. Most expeditions into the field have a time limit, but most of the time, you'll run out of _lives_ before you run out of _time_ -- you can only be knocked out three times before the mission's aborted, and the hunts that _need_ the full half-hour will push you. I've typically heard the names pronounced 'Ner-ji-GAN-tay' and 'BAY-zel-guyce', but there's some disagreement. Bazel's theme sounds like 'Night on Bald Mountain', though, doesn't it?
Something I recommend checking out is that each monster fighting theme has a few versions. One for one you're chasing/ being chased by the monster, one for when youre fighting it, and one for when you're rodeoing on the monsters back trying to knock it down. Bazelgeuse's mounting theme is quite different from its normal one
MONSTER HUNTER IS AMAZING BRING BACK UNDERWATER !!!! Thank you Arc for making her listen to MH osts, we both know MH only has really really good osts for the language for the last music, I don't know if it's true or not, but it's said that it's japanese words translated into French and then pronounced by japanese. But as a French, I've never noticed a single words in over 10 years
Interesting note for non-Mon Hun players. Each game has its own unique arrangement of Proof of a Hero. It is often the case that the version of Proof that was in a player’s first Mon Hun game will emotionally hit MUCH harder than any other arrangement. You play me any other version of Proof and I’m ready to fight the whole godsdamn world…and win. You play me Proof from Mon Hun 3 Ultimate, my first game…and I’m immediately in my feels and my eyes are watering.
2:01 It’s funny you say that because a regular quest can have a time limit of 60 minutes and a lot of times the quest will ACTUALLY get close to that time until you get really strong.
bazelgeuse is scary. imagine a giant dragon that can fly and has evolved scales that he can drop at will and each scale is a 100 kilogramm bomb. and he does bombing runs. he also is an invader so he goes anywhere and claims new territory and stuff.
The bagel juice theme is not only alarming and hectic. Monster roar during hunts to signify that they are doubling down. Bazel geuse's roar sounds almost exactly like a bombing raid siren
I love that your covering monster hunter but the songs you used other than nergigiante and bazuelgese are more of title screen and credit songs. They don’t emanate what makes monster hunter MONSTER HUNTER. The best songs that are specific to this series are Nay the honor is all ours Roars across the hinterlands Splendiferous silver sovereign Safi’jiva Dancer in the coral highlands Alatreon Fatalis
A brave new world, adventure around every corner. Dangers lurking, ancient monstrosities that unleash calamities just by existing. These aren't just battle with monsters, they are fights to the death in their own habitats and think these pieces really truly express all these qualities.
Oh heck yeah, finally a Monster Hunter game. One of my favorite series of all time, its music is one of the things that I love most about it. If you have a friend to play with, you’re gonna have an amazing experience with any game in the series, such great games :))
the nostalgia it hurts i Wana go back in time and into the Futcher to hear the next ones almost kept myself from crying then that last one hit and i crumbled
If you make a second part i would say that looking an image of the monster either in the middle or after the song. I believe it would make a good work creating an image of what could be at stake if the hunters failed to finish the monster off. though in canon a lot of the quests hunters go on are to help carriages with supplies and or help the ecosystem if i'm not wrong.
In regards to how long fights can take, a speedrun/super optmized player can finish a fight in less than 9 minutes, and this also hinges on the difficulty level of the monster as well of course, meanwhile, you can also have hunts where the battle against the monster can last longer than 30 minutes
Stars at our backs... 😢 the culmination of all the triumph and tribulation of reaching the pinnacle of a hunter's strength. So that even we can reach higher than the stars...
One of the things about Monster Hunter is the concept of Harmony. The main hunter theme is meant to be both evocative of the heroic and optimistic hero and the idea that you have your place in the world. In the lore humanity and their related sapient species were driven to near extinction by nature and you have only just reached a niche that works in the world. The monsters are the dominant force in the world and you are just fitting in with them. When you hunt, it's not because you want the advantage, but to stop an environmental incursion or catastrophe that is befalling your civilization.
i have a feeling about nergigante theme like its gladiator music, it fits in style of nergigante because besides being a spiky boy he is a skilled warrior looking at things he hunts and his fighting style
All these videos have been amazing, a game with an amazing soundtrack to listen to is shovel knight, it has so many good songs, I hope that you listen to it eventually.
MH music would sell out theaters hundreds of years ago. it is utterly gorgeous one thing to mention. the MH teams make a main theme (stars at our backs in this case) and they will reuse that same motif/theme throughout the entire game. SO many of MHW's songs have that one little part in it some way or another. gives me the damn chills. music is magic bazelgeuse is an invader. so this track will play over whatever is already playing when you're fighting another monster let me tell you....the MF'N PTSD THIS SONG GAVE US lastly, i recommend fatalis' theme. it is easily the 'scariest' theme of the game. nothing but terror. i believe they literally *chant his name in latin*
If u want to listen to a monsters theme properly I suggest looking up for one of the many medleys people have made for monsters. A personal favourite being kulve taroths, rajangs and fatalis' medleys. Mainly because when listening to them the way the music changes also tells you the current state of the hunt. as it gets more intense in different ways it indicates who has the upper hand.
The game gives you a standard time limit of 50 minutes on any normal quest, most of which last less than 30 minutes usually. Challenging quests can give you a run for your money (time is money, as they say).
Oh my God your facial expression Nerg's theme song. Priceless. If you haven't already please look up pictures of these monsters. It's a very aggressive monster. If you don't figure out its mechanics. The fight does not last 5 minutes lol.
Fights go between 2 (speed runners) and 50 minutes depending on the fight in question and the skill of the player. 10-20 minutes is pretty standard. Bazelgeuse is traumatic. You’ll be fighting one monster and then you’ll hear that theme hit and know that the big flying bomber monster is about to wreck your day 😂 This version of Proof of a Hero is maybe the least impressive I’ve heard, but it’s still great. It’s the “you did it!!” Song played when you have finally overcome a great challenge. Each (or at least most all of them) game in the franchise has a different orchestration of that theme.
Alright, lore time. Nergigante (theme: Even Elder Dragons Tremble): Flagship of MHW. Title: Extinction Dragon. The Eater of Elders. A highly aggressive, thorn-covered elder dragon that hunts down other elders. While other elders are veritable forces of nature, Nergi overpowers them through sheer strength and its regneration. Second most popular monster in the series. Bazelgeuse (theme: The Invading Tyrant): Title: Explosive Scale Wyvern. A massive flying wyvern considered nearly as big a threat as elder dragons. Glands on its neck and tail produce an unstable material that explodes when struck, which it uses to carpet-bomb opponents. While usually a scavenger, it is infamous for interrupting hunts due to its habit of seeking out the strongest monsters in its area. Has a fierce rivalry with the brute wyvern Deviljho. Proof of a Hero: Main theme of the original Monster Hunter, frequently getting a new version for new entries. The Hunter national anthem, and recognized theme of "let's f*cking goooooo".
Since we in monster hunter era now I figured Id throw a recommendation in "Crimson fatalis theme" from monster hunter frontier. And "White fatalis theme" from monster hunter frontier.
hope you do a part 2 and include the Rotten Vale battle theme, as well as some of the stuff from the Iceborne DLC the original Monster Hunter 1 version of Proof of a Hero is also part of the Iceborne DLC so that's a good enough excuse to listen to that one too
I recomend to listen the seliana theme (seliana is a hub theme and have a day & night version), without a doubt one of the best themes of this game. This is an opinion from someone who have played this game around 800 hours.
Fun facts about Proof of a Hero:
- Each Monster Hunter game has its own unique rendition of the song.
- It’s basically the theme song of the Hunter, and there are a very select few monsters in the games whose fights allow you to hear it

Fatalis theme
Safi'Jiiva
Freaking Valstrax
Malzeno
Nargacuga
There's soooo much to choose from.
You can get to enjoy a wonderful musical variety.
I will hope for more of Monster Hunte Reaction because it tickles my joy of seeing people non familier with Monster Hunter get to enjoy what it has to offer at least partially.
Dont forget (raging) Brachydios
And also non monster themes like seliana
Zinogre, MHW mount version especially
MHW Rajang
Amatsu
Ibushi, Narwa, and Allmother Narwa
Gore, Chaotic Gore, and Shagaru Magala
Val Habar my dude!
Raging brachydios
Shara ishvalda
7:09 Well, mostly right. Think less of a forest but instead on the back of a volcano sized dragon
Or crystal volcano zones
Pride of a Nameless Hunter has a very special place in a lot of world veteran hearts, because the final dev talk for the game had a very nice montage of all the special moments and events from the game and the updates, followed by an extremely sweet collage of community clips and photos from event game nights and such, giving the final iceborne update a very heartwarming sendoff.
Ever since the community post, I've been checking my phone nonstop for the notification. I really, really hope you check out more Monster Hunter soundtracks in the future!
Im glad your friend begged you to be here! Monster Hunter music is incredible and underappreciated!
To give some context: Bazelgeuse is a monster who's main attack strategy, is carpet bombings, and kamikaze dive bombs, and essentially only ever shows up when you're already fighting something else
Also if you ever come back to this, you must absolutely listen to "Deviljho's theme" because it really gets across the theme of "this thing exists to ruin your day"
"there's a lot happening" is a VERY fair comment. Nergigante is a hyper aggressive monster and the music is meant to match the absolute ferocity and unceasing attacks that the monster performs. The constant driving beat, unnerving and restless energy from the strings, and the constant dissonance just leave you in a constant state of adrenal anxiety. AND I LOVE IT!!!!
anxiously waiting for the Iceborne video
Ok just a couple pointers for every piece:
-Stars at our Back: yes it's the main theme for Monster Hunter World specifically.
15:47 "Oh sh*t, here he comes..."
“Monster Hunter World Must Be An EPIC Adventure.” Must be? I think you mean is
Please listen to the fatalis theme
Raging brachydios theme
Alatreon theme
And arch tempered nergi theme
Velkhana theme
Kulvetaroh medley
Rotten vale theme
You need to hear some REAL good musics too
Raging brachydios
Fatalis
Malzeno
Magnamalo
Valstrax
Mizutsune
Safijiiva
Somewhere on YT there's a Fatalis "suite" that stitches together all three phases and Proof of a Hero. Worth a listen.
Hello, I'm French, Monster Hunter (whether it's World or the other Monster hunters) have great music!!!
Maybe MH Rise next? Malzeno's, Mizutsune's and Magnamalo's themes are a must 👀
M&M's lol
If i remember right there is a certain motif for the hunter in every monster theme usually whenever it starts sounding triumphant
The Honor Is All Ours, and the Nergigante Arch Tempered theme etc
You'll be able to appreciate a few more leitmotifs they had incorporated within these soundtracks here.
Anytime you listen to a monster hunter game make sure you listen to it’s version of “Proof of a hero” it the song that is king in the games
Lastly the fights in MonHun CAN be up to 50 minutes long but that’s typically if you’re under equipped, first time fighting the monster or are VERY rusty.
what we need is to listen to the Safijiva theme, HE'S A SIMPLE GENTLE SAILOR!!
Monster Hunter fights can last up to 50 minutes before resulting in you losing the fight
Nergigante's theme is cool but you gotta listen to Arch Tempered Nergigante's theme
Its amazing
Some other great monster themes are:-
Safi'jiiva
Raging brachydios
Malzeno
Valstrax
Ceadeus
Narwa the allmother
Kulve Taroth
Fatalis (iceborne)
Alatreon
Whire fatalis
The original proof of a hero
15:26
okay, so the general gameplay loop of Monster Hunter games is fairly simple.
The loop is thus:
Go to the quest giver, select the monster you want to hunt.
As a hammer main, I think that the Bazelgeuse theme is horrifying.
Oh come on, hes hammer fodder. Moreso for ice bow. But hes still hammer fodder
Me as a heavy bowgun (sticky ammo) main: "DEPLOY ANTI-AIRCRAFT BARRAGE"
@@endertuber8300LBG main here, same!
If you do another monster hunter reaction. Def recommend zinogres theme
Oh MAN there's so many themes to cover. 20 years of the franchise, well over 200 monster battle OSTs alone, and Wilds comes out next February so there'll be even more, and the music seems to have been stated as even more dynamic music during battles. Welcome to the World of Monster Hunter! Glad you could make it :)
EDIT: also for fun, the monster theme titles are as follows, along with a little bit of info about the monsters themselves for anyone else interested outside of anything presented in the videos:
06:16 Nergigante: Even Elder Dragons Tremble. (He is called the Eater of Elders, and Elder Dragons are walking nautral disasters incarnate, and Nergigante hunts and eats them)
15:47 Bazelgeuse: The Invading Tyrant. In World, they brought about seamless hunting locales, and with it came this monster that would actively come to ruin your hunts.)
For potential future themes that some members may want to think about for selections, might I suggest:
The Voracious Devil (Deviljho, either variant is fine by me lol)
Morning Star of the Dark Tide (Namielle)
The Legend Descends (Fatalis, Iceborne version)
The Brilliance That Rules the Everstream ~Fury~ (Arch-Tempered Kulve Taroth, final phase, very specifically the part that plays when you break her horns off, it goes all out.)
Sparkling Blue Light (Zinogre, any variant is awesome tbh)
Red Afterglow Running in the Darkness (Nargacuga, any variant as well)
Kokoto Village theme (My personal bias for this theme because it was MH1 was my introduction to the franchise)
Dance of a Thousand Blades (Seregios theme)
Furious Rampage and Tyrant of the Massacre (Bloodbath Diablos' themes from MH Generations Ultimate. Honestly such a good set of themes for one monster)
Lunar Abyss and Moonquake (Ceadeus themes. Utterly perfect elder dragon.)
To One With Life (Monster Hunter Tri's theme. It's so gorgeous, genuinely one of the few pieces that gets me emotional like Proof of a Hero)
Brutish Indigo Rages (Raging Brachydios' unique theme added to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. So raw and brutal.)
ALSO! you gotta check out the original version of Proof of a Hero from MH1. It's a phenomenal contrast to the version in World.
Bazelgeuse happens to be my favourite monster. Essentially a giant bomber plane wyvern. the soundtrack is a good listen, and feels like a real battle (also the memes surrounding him are top tier). Also his roar has air siren inspiration, which just adds to it. IT ALSO HELPS THAT HE ALWAYS ROARS AT THE SAME POINT IN THE THEME, YOU CAN HEAR HIS ROAR WHEN YOU LISTEN TO IT AFTER FIGHTING HIM A BUNCH. he also just carpet bombs you randomly on hunts
I just love Bazel, they broke him in Rise :(
You really need to go through Monster Hunter hits like The Ceadeus and The Amatsu/Amatsumagatsuhi themes.
I am happy to see you getting into the Monster Hunter World OSTs, there are some really good songs in the game!
MONSTER HUNTER IS AMAZING
BRING BACK UNDERWATER !!!!
Thank you Arc for making her listen to MH osts, we both know MH only has really really good osts
for the language for the last music, I don't know if it's true or not, but it's said that it's japanese words translated into French and then pronounced by japanese.
My favourite theme from MonHun is definitely Khezu's theme, iykyk
I love that your covering monster hunter but the songs you used other than nergigiante and bazuelgese are more of title screen and credit songs. They don’t emanate what makes monster hunter MONSTER HUNTER. The best songs that are specific to this series are
Nay the honor is all ours
Roars across the hinterlands
Splendiferous silver sovereign
Safi’jiva
Dancer in the coral highlands
Alatreon
Fatalis
there are definitely other good ones from this series that just aren't from World
@@VelvetAurafor example: Silver Winged star. God that is epic, just dont listen to the remix. That is a weird one...
If you have a friend to play with, you’re gonna have an amazing experience with any game in the series, such great games :))
the nostalgia it hurts i Wana go back in time and into the Futcher to hear the next ones
almost kept myself from crying then that last one hit and i crumbled
Going to need a part 2 of this! Monster hunter is rich with amazing music.
The themes would go well with the accompanying monster roars, as you would hear them in game.
In my head,
i heard them
Hard disagree
In regards to how long fights can take, a speedrun/super optmized player can finish a fight in less than 9 minutes, and this also hinges on the difficulty level of the monster as well of course, meanwhile, you can also have hunts where the battle against the monster can last longer than 30 minutes
Stars at our backs... 😢 the culmination of all the triumph and tribulation of reaching the pinnacle of a hunter's strength. So that even we can reach higher than the stars...
As an avid monster hunter fan. About time
One of the things about Monster Hunter is the concept of Harmony.
MH music would sell out theaters hundreds of years ago. it is utterly gorgeous
one thing to mention. the MH teams make a main theme (stars at our backs in this case) and they will reuse that same motif/theme throughout the entire game. SO many of MHW's songs have that one little part in it some way or another. gives me the damn chills. music is magic
bazelgeuse is an invader. so this track will play over whatever is already playing when you're fighting another monster
let me tell you....the MF'N PTSD THIS SONG GAVE US
lastly, i recommend fatalis' theme. it is easily the 'scariest' theme of the game. nothing but terror. i believe they literally *chant his name in latin*
If u want to listen to a monsters theme properly
I suggest looking up for one of the many medleys people have made for monsters. A personal favourite being kulve taroths, rajangs and fatalis' medleys.
Mainly because when listening to them the way the music changes also tells you the current state of the hunt. as it gets more intense in different ways it indicates who has the upper hand.
Stars at our backs gets me so much man. So beautiful. Pure beauty of nature.
Stars At Our Backs and Song of Guidance play back-to-back in the game’s credits.
The themes for Zinogre and Teostra are really good aswell
15:40 That one is pronounced as "Boeing B-52" a very fitting theme...
The music in this game is amazing.
YES, I love this soundtrack, so happy you're listening to it
Absolutely loved mh world's music and am excited to see what they cooked up with wilds so very excited!
Gotta shout out for Teostra's theme. Nothing else like it in the soundtrack.
Bazelgeuse was like the secret bonus track that cuts off another song and makes you poop your pants 😂
Awesome, I’ve been hoping you would do this reaction for a long time!
You should hear monster hunter rises music. Its all old school japanese sounding with almost a festival vibe.
Fights go between 2 (speed runners) and 50 minutes depending on the fight in question and the skill of the player. 10-20 minutes is pretty standard.
Bazelgeuse is traumatic. You’ll be fighting one monster and then you’ll hear that theme hit and know that the big flying bomber monster is about to wreck your day 😂
This version of Proof of a Hero is maybe the least impressive I’ve heard, but it’s still great. It’s the “you did it!!” Song played when you have finally overcome a great challenge. Each (or at least most all of them) game in the franchise has a different orchestration of that theme.
You actually nailed Nergigante. 👍
Since we in monster hunter era now I figured Id throw a recommendation in
"Crimson fatalis theme"
from monster hunter frontier.
And
"White fatalis theme"
from monster hunter frontier.
hope you do a part 2 and include the Rotten Vale battle theme, as well as some of the stuff from the Iceborne DLC
the original Monster Hunter 1 version of Proof of a Hero is also part of the Iceborne DLC so that's a good enough excuse to listen to that one too
I recomend to listen the seliana theme (seliana is a hub theme and have a day & night version), without a doubt one of the best themes of this game. This is an opinion from someone who have played this game around 800 hours.
