    Phil is such a good rep for the community. Always level headed and realistic. Also his voice is really calm and soothing

    Most of you already know this, but please don't look at the best online poker player of all-time who's put in ungodly amounts of hours studying the game at an extremely high level where there's a lot of grey area and conceptualization, and think "I can go from $50 - 10M too!".

      Phil galfond didn’t put in lot of hrs of study. He taught people how to play poker wrong and was Terrble at Texas Holdem just like to dwan. They were bum hunters that went broke when they faced good online players

    17:30 this is why i enjoy 5 card PLO. with holdem being mostly a solved game and PLO further along that road than it's ever been, adding in a 5th card changes the game radically enough that it's got more of that wild west feel that Phil is talking about. 5 card PLO is also exploding in popularity in online poker as we speak. It's the game I will be focusing most if not all of my attention on for the foreseeable future as the edges are currently large there and should remain that way for at least a few years.

      Agreed. Too many bots online to climb through the stakes but live PLO5 is taking over in Brazil and my winrates are totally insane

      @@Rags2RichesPoker Live PLO5? That's awesome! I hope that starts picking up in America. I see your profile picture, Suprema is where I grind 5 card for now, and I mix in several other smaller sites too. Good luck at the tables!

    Hi! Loving your videos as a new parent currently on leave. For blackjack, what table rule set would you suggest practicing first(e.g., H17 vs S17)? What are your preferred table rules? Thanks!

      You're going to need to be okay with travel if you wanted to get the max benefit from joining BJA. You can practice plenty at home, learn the basics, etc. But to get the value and profits from the training you'll have to travel to many casinos.

      absolutely not a sole cares what you do, go back and watch this video you may see it is not all about you and blackjack. Also the fact taht you play a game where there is aalways a house advantage unless you're counting cards at a high level (which you are not) then you are now and will always be a losing payer which does benefit the casino so by all means please keeep doing waht you're doing and keep believing you're smarter tahn those really dumb brlliant mathematicians who devised blackjack

    • @royjonzejr
      @royjonzejr 4 місяці тому +1

      @slowery43 I don't know what you're ranting about but I AM counting cards "at a high level" and have beaten casinos for $12K so far in about 400 hours of play. I have been counter measured in 2 places close to me, and I only have one close place left. If I burn that place out too, it's poker time.

    • @AchtungBabyMaverick
      @AchtungBabyMaverick 5 місяців тому

      Well sure he misspoke BUT I think it's still acceptable to simplify and call 6-max for instance solved for the intents of this conversation, when it's close enough to "solved" that no human could possibly compete with a "perfect" bot applying as close to GTO as it can. Chess for instance is not solved but we've reached a point where there is no world in which any human would face Stockfish for cash.

    Anybody that saw the final table of the 2024 WSOP Main Event knows what a joke the game has become and how heavily reliant players have become on solvers.
    We have lost the great characters of the game who depended on their skills and abilities to read people.

      Yup, most people are buried on their phones just playing their cards and position. All it takes now is money because it's all rebuys which is why these guys will probably never win the main event. A freeze out doesn't work for them.. it makes them like everybody else
