i love your descriptions of "anything" in your videos. your so funny, love how you make me laugh when I listen to what you have to say... and i agree... that meal looked delish
Great video Ryan … when you say “ the best inflight meal ever “ , I know it must be good , coming from an authority on tucker like you 😀. I’m still to fly on a A350 , so don’t feel too neglected. Cheers Ryan , and thanks for posting .
Nice one! I have flown Cathay Pacific a few times and the food is usually very good. 1 time I did have a fish dish which smelt very fishy but this was the only disappointment
When I went to the US 8 months ago, I took Cathay Pacific. I experienced the facial scanning upon boarding. That was for the Hong Kong-San Francisco flight & Hong Kong-Manila flight. By the way, I used to live in Singapore couple of years ago.
Hong Kong is one of my favourite airports as well.. can’t believe it’s been over 4 years since I’ve been there. Need to make an excuse to fly there soon! Probably a good 5.5 years since I’ve flown cathay… ADL- HKG- PVG. Really liked the trip report… made me keen to fly with them soon and so glad they are still flying!
For a long time, CX was very well protected by the HK government. They will be flying for a long time yet until something drastic happens to HK. The airline, just like SQ to Singapore... Is so deeply entrenched in the HK psyche is almost impossible to imagine HK without CX. They are thankfully a very well run company and have been consistently very profitable expect during COVID. So I'm hopeful they'll be flying high again. Until then, they're sadly still in recovery mode.
@@LukeCrisp yeah! It wasn't so much flying past close to high rises, but we could literally look into people's homes and watch their flickering TV, see them having dinner with chopsticks, hanging their laundry etc... It was SURREAL! This was made possible because the plane would be banked at a 45 Deg angle during the final phase of approach which meant we were only a few hundred feet off the ground as we came out of bank to level off for the final approach. Goosebumps!
@@ryansofly haha don’t worry, I know the approach very well thanks to flight sim 2000… as a 9 year old this was my favorite place to land. 😆 certainly would have been an experience! Thanks for the vivid description
in malaysia, if you said you are having curry meal, it means you are in jail. I never knew curried chicken meal was served in wake. They usually served vegetarian meal, no?
1 - Tom Cruise is the same height as Ryan 2 - That sick bag was rather nice! Cathay is a big of an enigma to me. Some people RAVE about them, but my personal experiences (economy only) have left me feeling they are quite vanilla in their offerings. The material they use on their economy seats - like the ones on this plane - seem drab and always worn. I feel like their fleet is rather old and the airline, whilst always solid, needs a it of a facelift and it needs a bit of re-energising. Hong Kong is regardless a great city to fly out of in terms of views out the window.
Yes, CX's beige existence is why their hardcore fans love them, consistency. They haven't expanded (or reduced) their network in decades. Their cabin products remain frozen in time (fans say it's timeless), and they somehow still manage to be levels above a lot of other major airlines out there.
This is seriously so meta! I'm watching your video whilst i'm in Hong Kong in the Cathay Pacific Wing First lounge on transit to Paris. I'm currently on hour 12 out of 17. OMG i almost spat out my Virgin Colada when you did that gate agent voice. I've flown on an A350many times but never on CX. I was supposed to fly this MEL - HKG but equip change to 777. I have to ask, how do you get your footage SO smooth?! My bits also got very moist without the air vents on the 777. I am not a huge fan of the CX inflight map in my opinion, SQ still has the best. Ryan, holy moly, you brought up funeral food. HAHA I love how wide your gopro image! Mty camera does not compare! The economy lav looks quite spacious! Your thai is amazing!
Man a 17 hour transit! Sounds like my Colombo transit! At least you're in HKG. I mount the GoPro on my roller for b roll footage to reduce jitter. Excited and looking forward to your Instagram updates on your trip!
Thanks for producing this video Ryan. Yes 3-3-3 seating on the A350 isn't special. But one budget airline (which flies from Paris0 French Bee has configured its A350s with 10-across seating. Air Asia X also specified 10-across at the time it was considering buying the A350 but in the end it did not order it (A350).
I've experience Air Asia X with their 10 abreast economy seating, suppose its similar. Thankfully on those flights I had the row all to myself, so it was bearable. Not in a rush to do it again.
@@ryansofly Yeah I looked it up. That’s today’s ear worm, proudly brought to you by Cathay Pacific. It does have that Barry White thing going for it though. 🤣🤣
Hey Ryan, another great video. That chicken curry looked delicious. So I your opinion where does Singapore airport rate? I reckon it's top notch compared to our Australian airports 😊 Safe travels, Erika from sunny Perth 😎

Can't wait for your Europe travel series!

Great video. Keep up the good work.

Yepppp Kai Tak s take off and landing rocked. I m impressed you mentioned it. Yep our "younger years".

You cannot go wrong with the Asian options on CX. Always a treat.
Ryan, love it, you had me laughing so much. Loved the mission impossible line. Food looked fab. Subscribed. Wish I'd found you sooner.😊
Glad I was able to entertain. I aim to please! Welcome to my channel! ☺️
Nothing beats a good curry and potatoes
Omg I know right?
Nothing will beat the 2-3-2 configuration which was common on the 767 on on some a330s/a340s
You said it! 2-3-2 is the best!
Awesome report 😊
Thanks for watching!

Hahaha yes jail. We normally have vegetarian bee hoon, ngoh hiang (known as lobak in Malaysia), and curry chicken.

Another thing I remembered from flying CX as a kid; do you remember that theme song they played whenever the plane was rolling to take off?
