Thank you Josh for creating and sharing these cool comparisons! I've always enjoyed the muted trumpet sound. It's part of my own personal definition of "cool jazz". The plastic mute has a very warm sound. Perhaps it's the lack of metal in the mute. I can hear the metal in the other mutes. The sounds are slightly metallic to me. I like hearing different mutes for different songs. Very cool. Also I can hear the differences better with my eyes closed. Thanks again!

Glad you liked it!! Yes, the metal really adds a metallic sound ... some of them more than others.

Thanks a lot. Very useful. By focusing on the attack and the tail of each note I could distinguish the unique characteristics of each mute. This really helped for my current project.

That all aluminum is sure lively. Oddly enough the brass bottom version sounds similar. The copper with aluminum is my choice. It quiets things down a bit more and sounds jazzy. Nice video! Thanks

Yeah, pretty great that they have so many options. Can't go wrong with the aluminum/copper, an awesome mute.

Well, they'll sound different for everyone - that's the great thing about it, everyone hears things in their own way. Out of curiosity, what type of speakers/headphones did you listen to this with? If you haven't, try putting it in 1080 or 4k, the audio will be at a higher resolution.
