I've found the Tom Crown Gemini mute, specifically the aluminum, to be one of the most solid and versatile straight mutes I've tried. Personally, I think it's a very direct upgrade from the Wick. Similar buzz, but slightly more open and much more in tune. Definitely worth checking out at some point.
I saw John Hagstrom use the plastic Bach on a PBS Performances show. Saw him laughing about it on stage and commented on Trumpetherald and he answered back immediately. Likes it for certain soft passages.
Lyric trumcor is so good!
For sure!
Give my regards to Mr. Goldenbergschmuyle!!
Good info as always!

I used to have that mute a long time ago, but I guess I lost it? I remember liking it though.

Yeah that makes sense. It doesn’t buzz enough for loud passages. I guess I just like the trum cor lyric for soft stuff better. Thanks for watching!
Love the vids!
Thanks for watching!
Marcus Bona makes different sizes of straight Mutes. Do you have the regular size or the Large size?
I think I have the smaller one? It doesn’t look as big as the bigger one.
@@RyanBeachtrumpet Good to know! Thanks for making all these videos

I didn’t realize they made a straight mute! I only knew about the practice mute.
