The only problem with your reviews is, no matter what you pick up, you make it sound good. Heck, I bet you could strap 3 bass strings on a shovel and make it sound great! (Actually, that's how I found you.) OK, seriously, I always enjoy hearing you play, and this guitar does indeed appear to be a winner.
I never knew Cort made such nice guitars, those tapered edges and the fretboard were beautiful. Pickup system sounded crisp and clear, real nice sound with the slide..

I bought a Cort about ten years ago, however it was branded “Carvin”. It was model 980t, electric acoustic. Very well made, sounds wonderful and I’m very happy with this guitar.
Justin! Buddy! Really love the guitar, I really dig the cut out for the hand, great smooth tone, BUT... what you didn't mention is the price. lol. And BirdYoumans is totally right, you could make anything sound awesome. Thanks for sharing your review with us.
I worked for a Cort dealer for several years in the early 2000s, after being away from commercial music for 20 years I was amazed at many Cort products, & how affordable they were. Until I retired from music in '84, I used nothing but USA built Gibsons, Fenders, Rickenbackers(except for one Ibanez bass I bought in '83 while gigging the 2nd year for 6 weeks in Daytona Beach. )I have probably 10 Cort basses & electrics, the fit, finish, stability & fretwork was high quality at a reasonably low price. I used to deal with reps from Cort, I remember being told around 2010-12 Cort produced 600,000 units that year, with a number of brand names everyone knows. I realized at that time the USA-built high priced brands were mostly hype, sad to say. At that time most Corts were still built in Korea. I still enjoy my old Corts.
Funny thing is I remember many years ago I had mentioned to a friend who played guitar that somebody should do cut aways on an acoustic as the electric Fenders had and still have, that was over 40 years ago.
Truth is "Justin" could make a Milk carton with yarn strings sound Good. Nice to hear you speak Brah! Athough your playing speaks for itself😉!👍👍 Be Blessed...
I really like the way they sculpted the bridge so that it's recessed where the bridge pins are, in order to get that steeper break angle of the strings across the saddle. Yairi ( the ultra high-end, hand-made Japanese "Alvarez Yairi's" ) was the first to do this ( to my knowledge ) with their now legendary "2 piece" system that uses a block of wood embedded completely in the guitar's top that runs down through the bridge plate underneath, which is where the bridge pins are located. This totally eliminates the possibility of a bridge pulling loose from the top. The other element is their completely separate raised bridge, which gives that nice steep break angle of the strings across the saddle. Alvarez sort of copied the Yairi style 2-pc bridge, but made it all 1-piece, much like the bridge on this Cort Gold series guitar.
I have the Cort Pro Custom acoustic which I was debating on cutting into the Kona wood to convert it to CE, but now I'm going to check out the Cort Gold Edge thanks to your review, Justin. I have always liked your Slide guitar riffs/JJ

The Cort Gold Passion is my favorite model from Cort. The Edge is an amazing guitar, especially for the price, but the Gold Passion is my favorite. It just has a little bit more body to the tone and I really love the flame maple on the sides and back
I bought a cort hollow body electric with bigsby and found it to be very clear and great to play. Very nice compared to a lot of other hollowbodies I compared it to in my local guitar store.
I've been seeing a lot of jazz players with the Cort Yorktown hollowbody electric. Great value and produces lovely clean tones. Looks the part, too, without paying the big bucks for Gibson or Gretsch.
My 2009 solid rosewood back sfx 6r is a beautiful example of Cort brilliance. I love my lp style CR150 as well. If sound is more important than headstock and price is an issue, you can’t go past a Cort…
Justin sublime toutes les guitares qu'il joue ,c'est un merveilleux guitariste que l'on peut passer des heures à écouter et voir jouer sans jamais se lasser !
Thanks for acquainting us with this beautiful instrument, Justin. Such wonderful tone, I love it. My first bass as a Cort. Wish I still had it! :) Having a blast with my Ibanez, though, so life is still good.
i have a cort L 200 which cost 700 usd online. its so good, sounds like taylor. what i dont like is the pick up system, so i changed to fishman prey, sounds so good plugg in. but Im aiming for higher cort, wish i can try them personally
Man you inspire me like no other. So much so that I made a lap slide guitar from a kitchen table leg, two exhaust clamps, two pieces of steel pipe, some old guitar parts, a mason jar lid, copper wire and a Dean Markley acoustic drop in pick up. I am sure you get this a lot, but I would pay the shipping from here and back just to hear you play on my creation I call the EllBow. She is rough and crudely made, but I don't know what I am doing and I can make a decent sound with her, can only imagine what you could do. Short video of me playing her right after I finished building her on my channel if anyone is interested. Either way, Thanks for the tunes and the inspiration.
I used to sell Cort guitars, so pretty familiar with all their models. I own a low end one as well. Great guitars for the price. Around the 400 to 800 range, they sound spectacular. And they use great woods too. I would use these over any Ibanez, Fender, yamaha, Epiphone or even a low end taylor.
They've got a similar popularity to Yamaha here in Asia, they're really trying to make it in the west too it seems since there are more and more promotions there. They're certainly very great, one of those brands that actually have more affordable price but barely any compromise in quality.
Hi, That's a dream Guitar right there for not a lot of money. I have their Gold O6, and it's amazing. The sound and the feel are above some Taylors I tried. Who never tried a Cort Gold is definitely at lost.
I’ve owned a Cort Earth 70/12E 12 string for over 15 years, and she still plays as sweet as the day I bought her home; and that’s a model at the cheaper end of the scale, let alone high end!! Would love to get my hands on one of their Gold series!! : )
Justin, I am to flutes what you are to guitars. I am going to buy a very inexpensive guitar and learn to play it though. I don't believe I can ever afford a Cort guitar even their least expensive one. Flutes with solid silver headjoints and gold risers I understand the way you understand acoustic guitars. The Cort you are playing in the video sounds beautiful and I seriously love the sound of slide guitar and too, steel guitar.
Thank you Justin. For me, a $1500 Cort Gold Edge simply the best value acoustic guitar in high-end quality category. I cannot continue dreaming about $3700 Taylor 814ce as a modern day acoustic guitar.
Many people have played Cort's and didn't even know it, they are one of the biggest sub contracted guitars builders there is they make many companies guitars for them.
It doesn't seem so long ago (a few months) when I watched you playing the A6 gold that I purchased an A8 gold. I love it. It would be nice to have "edges" on it. Thanks.
No kidding, i lately had a stay in a psych ward… they had two guitars there, one was a Cort. It was a drednaught and i could tell it wasn‘t expensive. But it was really well made. Good neck, nice sound, very nice playability and string height. I as so surprised! I own two guild guitars and some more guitars. One of the duikds is westerly built (it‘s a dv73, only 50 ever build). So i was absolutely surprised how fun it was to play the cort (compared to the other guitar, a aria dreadnought). For beginners and intermediates on a budget, a Cort must be a very well solution.
I’ve had a Cort for about 12 years or more. It was inexpensive and came with a hard case. I spent a couple of days away in the country with 4 other friends and they all commented how really good it sounds. 3 of the 4 play Martins and were really impressed. I actually like the warm sound better than theirs. Oh yeah I’ve got 10s on it.
I like the look of this guitar. The headstock is astonishing! The top looks understated and that‘s what i like very much. Very balanced looks, aesthetic. The sound is amazing.
I bought a cort last week in a pawn shop. Shallow body. To test how good it was, I sang into the hole and found the body to resonate in the pitch of C. Brilliant. Resonance lasts 30 seconds
Cort like silver tone, Kay, and Lotus made some decent affordable guitars. I use them for slide, camping and let others play them. I had an old Cort effector electric with 5 buttons kinda a built in pedal. Was a great beginners guitar.
I own an acoustic PRS made at Cort factory. On one hand, its playability is very good and it’s nicely manufactured, on the other it’s the most problematic of all my guitars because the wood was not properly seasoned, dried or whatever you do to make it stable. It;s a bit tricky with these guitars from Far East
Hi, this might be your experience with the PRS, but I own several (7) Cort Guitars that you can see on my channel and they are all very good quality. The Gold O6 exceeded all my expectations. It's a level above all I tried so far. But for sure, there will be in any manufacturer a quitar that might turn bad or so for some reason. PRS might have told Cort what wood to use and provided, so you can't tell for sure what happened about your guitar. I heard before about PRS that are not great on acoustics. By the way, how do you know your guitar is made in the Cort factory? Is it written somewhere?
@@77guitarts22 Hi, yes, the back of the headstock says it’s made by Cort for PRS. Truth be told, I returned one after I bought it and Andertones replaced it with another one, this one turned out to be faulty too pretty soon. It’s not a big problem, the strings start buzzing over 15th fret in wintertime and the top visibly curves downwards. I keep my guitars in a humidity controlled room most of the time, and still this one is problematic - I own two more acoustic and several electric guitars. . Still, I decided to keep it because I like it, it sounds very good and it’s almost uncanny how easy it’s to play. Well, it’s good to know Cort is worth giving it another try, thanks 😊
@@saysaylor7662 Oh, I see... my opinion is that it needs a small adjustment on the neck by the truss road. Just measure your neck relief and see if this might be the solution. Also, the frets might need a leveling in this case. But this can happen to any guitar when climate changes. Probably also because the action is set so low, there are some downsides to it. What is your action measuring at the 12th fret? Usually shouldn't go lower than 2 mm on the low E String and 1.5 mm at the high E.
This is beautifully perfect. Thank you for sharing your experience and love for the instrument. I lost my hands a couple of years ago and I haven't lost my love of the guitar. So please play- on! Somebody is playing through YOU! Love multiplied!❤💋
2:22-2:29 Replacing bridge pins can make a LOT of difference, especially when the original ones are cheap plastic ones. Ebony mellows the sound in my experience. My Cort L-100P really needed brass bridge pins and uncoated d'addario EJ-16 strings. The OEM EXP strings with plastic pins are a really bad combination. Esthetically brass is not so nice as ebony or bone with a MOP or abalone dot of course, but it sounds really good on the parlour guitar. And I was on the edge of letting it go.
Never tried a custom shop limited edition (LE models) made in the korean custom shop from early 2000 to 2007/2008? They were AMAZING! If you find one don’t let it go!
This guitar sounds amazing. And, of course, great playing. I have a collection of early 2000's Master M series semi and solid electrics that are excellent as well.
I had a Cort in the 90s, most people aren't playing at Maddison Square Garden or recording at studio 2 at Abbey Road, then a regular guitar is OK for a regular gig or practice, if someone steals it, then no big deal
Hey Justin ....followed one of your reviews on a guitar called a lag hyvibe ....f me its amazing and love it just wanted to say thanks - got me interested in playing again can not put it down ...sounds great with the bendy silk Martin strings ....

Good sound does not equal good playbility and quality
That's funny but Sooo true. He can play anything

Cort make guitars for fender, prs, shelter, g&l, ibanez and more!
Love from India, Justin.
It’s kinda rad sitting on the other end of the world listening to you.
Cort is producing some really nice instruments. There are so many options between $500 and $1500 that are actually very good.
$500.00 really??
@@BlueYiperoo yes for the same thing that costs $500 taylor or martin will charge you around 2k. Its absurd it’s not even higher quality or anything.

So beautiful the guitar and the player, thank you
This is beautifully perfect. Thank you for sharing your experience and love for the instrument. I lost my hands a couple of years ago and I haven't lost my love of the guitar. So please play- on! Somebody is playing through YOU! Love multiplied!❤💋
That is a beautiful guitar. Thank you for the review.
Another GREAT DEMONSTRATION - THANKS JUSTIN - makes me want to go buy one today - 🤨😳 Guess that's the point of the demo 😏😊😊✌️✌️✌️
This guitar sounds amazing. And, of course, great playing. I have a collection of early 2000's Master M series semi and solid electrics that are excellent as well.
Really cool guitar! Beautiful design and awesome sound!! As always bad ass playing and video!!
Awesomeness!!🔥🎶🤘🎸
this rock song is really cool to play and learn. Thanks Justin
I had a Cort in the 90s, most people aren't playing at Maddison Square Garden or recording at studio 2 at Abbey Road, then a regular guitar is OK for a regular gig or practice, if someone steals it, then no big deal
I have a Cort Gold A6 and a Cort GA PF Bevel - both are great.
Awesome acoustic I've played many Cort electric guitars over the years but no acoustics love to try 1 tho
I really love Cort guitars 🤠🤠
Sounds really smooth and full rounded unplugged ❤ 🤘 🎸
Such aaaaawesome playing, man!

Got an A8 for my birthday, it's incredible!
Congratulations! I got me a Cort Gold D8 in Lightburst on my last birthday. I like it so much that I’m thinking of getting its Natural version.
I saw these advertised a few years back. I couldnt find any info on them and not a single shop had one to try
I have a Parkwood dreadnought that is awesome. They do make decent stuff
Amazing video, is it the OC8 gold NT in the video?
