    I just purchased a JD 4066R myself for snow removal work, I added the exterior review mirrors that help tremendously for seeing behind yourself, and a beacon light so I am more visible. I have the 5th hydraulic running to the front with a power attach skid steer plate on the loader, this will make going from a bucket to a snow pusher a dream, without even leaving the cab

    VERY WELL DONE. I JUST BOUGHT A 2014 MODEL, I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS TRACTOR AND THE POWER THIS TRACTOR HAS. I LOVE THE FEATURES THAT IT HAS TO MAKE IT EASY FOR A 76 YEAR.

    I've had my 4066r for about 5 months. I ordered it with the skidsteer quick attach and a 72" skidsteer bucket. Glad I did because I can at least see the cutting edge of the bucket and how much I have in it. I also marked my two front attachment mounting pads at center with white paint and then marked each of my attachments off of these marks. It's impossible to see the edges of your mounts because of the loader arms and it was a hit or miss until I did this.
    I usually fill my tractor out of a hose but one time I was away from home and had to fill it out of a 5 gallon plastic fuel can. It really sucks where the fill cap is especially if you're short. I put some rags down on the fender and set the fuel can on them so I could reposition and fill. Bad move. The fender cracked in two places immediately. Luckily Deere covered the replacement as this is a new tractor. I found that this has been an ongoing issue with these plastic fenders and mine is a 2019 and they still haven't corrected it. I'd hate to see what a new fender would cost for this let alone the labor to install as it looks like you'd have to remove the cab.

      Good idea on marking the SSQA, I noticed the same problem with not being able to see it.
      That fuel location is better than the hood on many of them, but I do like the lower location on the Kubota's better.
      Doesn't matter if it's a tractor, car, ATV, you break something and it's not a cheap repair.

    Had a 4066r for one year and traded it in. Hated it. Got sick up leaning forward to rev up rpm. Went with a Kubota L6060. Huge cab and I would look back. Good luck with the tractor

    That is the nicest 4066R I've ever seen!!! It is set up with virtually everything I'd ever want on a tractor!!! I'm always torn between the 3046R & the 4066R which I'd like or want more!!! 😊

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  5 років тому +1

      Thanks Jimbo! For me, it's missing a couple options that I want, but don't think I'll spend the money on. One is the mechanical self leveling loader option, the other is the deluxe grill guard. Well, having some extra outlets on the front of the tractor would be nice too, but I can just run a hose to the rear outlets. Overall, I love it so far!

    Antenna breakage is common. The original was 2 piece but when I went to replace it was 1 piece and you have to pull the cab headliner and VERY EXPENSIVE. I found an aftermarket antenna with and adapter bushing for about $10. Works great, by the way mine worked fine without the antenna.

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, mine also worked fine without it, but I added a new one anyways.

    I bought a new 4050 to our cab tractor with R-1 Ah tires and, even though it came with the loader, I was going to use it for bush hogging work and didn’t need the loader, so I saved $6000 that way. I really like the update they later did to the R series with the exterior handle and the secondary step. I wish they had kept the one piece hood and the wraparound grill guard brush screen from the 4020 series, The air conditioner got clogged up from bush hogging chaff and required having the roof removed to clean out the condenser, which is an expensive and time consuming pain in the butt. I do like the tight linkages for the controls and the soft touch electronic buttons.

    As you say, you do have a "cream of the crop tractor". It is a very nice set up and I am envious! But, $5 or $6000 for a couple of rear remotes and a T&T kit is a waaaay over estimate. As an add on, remotes are roughly $250 a piece. A top line T&T kit can run as high as $1,000. A TSC store type, owner sourced, cheap T&T would run under $500. Enjoy and good luck.

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah, it's probably more like 4k for everything you see from JD. I forgot I don't have PB nor hard lines to the front likey old one which drove the cost higher. Sure, other ways to do it cheaper, but this is JD parts, not aftermarket.

    For around the yard lifting chores a small 5000# telehandler with all-wheel steering, would be the bomb. nearly 20ft vertical lift, long horizontal reach, maneuverable, 4wd, small footprint, advanced electrohydraulics, and to top it off ..... 5,000 pounds of lift. No tractor OR skidsteer can come close ....... and I'm a staunch tractor guy. You could lift entire tractors with it and set them on the roof.
