Nice videos. Trust me, once you learn how to upgrade and repair your weapons and armor yourself, you won't go back. I play now with only self repair and upgrades. Unless it is faction specific stuff. I just started finally playing as an Ecologist and only wear or purchase Ecologist based armors. I also jack up the repair/upgrade prices in settings to deter myself from paying for them. Starting as a Loner where nobody will sell you weapons and armor makes your playthrough way more interesting, you fix what you can find. Making each playthrough more dynamic. Just make sure you are always on the look out for toolkits for Traders, and repairkits from stashes. There are usually some type of repair or toolkit inside the tent a bit north and east of the Rookie Village in Cordon across the street.Get a multitool and pistol repair kit as soon as you can afford it. Pistol repair items also repair submachine guns. So keep that in mind. You can use items from the mechanic and from pickups to repair weapon parts like barrels and gas tubes. I try to repair something for every type of ammo you find or buy. You can get gas masks and helmets from certain armors you breakdown. The all in one systems like the Seva or Exosuit. Provided you are able to retrieve it from a dead body(see in game settings). Helmets are cheap and easy to repair yourself. Beakdown crappy jackets and light armor early game to get cloth to help clean weapons, parts with lube, fix armor/helmets with glue. You will enjoy it once you learn it. This free standalone game is my most played game now. Good hunting Stalkers!
My recommend add-on list: 1) Jayko's immersion and quality of life pack, contains the following add-ons with all the respective compatibility patches: Aim rattle Ambient music 4k 3D PDA, also enhances map graphics Wall textures Food, drug, drink animations Soundscape overhaul Sorting plus (better inventory) JSRS sounds (guns+) Weapon reanimation and rebalance Damien's animation compendium More armor and outfits Death animations Nav's 4k mask overlays Also includes mod manager to make activating the add-ons a one click way to keep your install clean, NEVER just merge add-ons into game files! 2) Blindside's weapon reanimation and rebalance to add back missing pistol animations 3)Anomaly radios extended, adds location and faction specific music all around the zone played on radios 4)Upscaled skybox for a pretty sky 5)Dynamic crosshair, not so much immersive but more a quality of life thing 6)Fixed Hip in Rookie Village, makes her more attractive.... 7)Flashlight and headlamp 50 meter, allows further sight distance at night when playing with dark nights setting (best immersion) 8)PDA radio extended, adds a cool personal playlist that can be played on your PDA when spending downtime in the zone, Ukranian rock/hardbass/folk music to jam out 9)Quieter rain for soundscape overhaul, trust me the rain is INTENSE and needs a little dialing back. There's a few more that I could add like more 4k textures, other quality of life stuff ect... But this list is complete and everything jives well together, no crashes, very stable and is very IMMERSIVE haha. Have fun Stalkers! Oh and these are all for version 1.5.1, the latest and final version. Jayko's pack also comes with extra optional patches for about seven other mods like Trader overhaul and others to make everything work together if you decide to add more. I didn't need any other patches to make my additional add-ons work with Jayko's pack, but they are there and should be checked out before you add anything else. ALL MODS FOUND AND AVAILABLE ON MOD DB Also important to note I'm using DirectX 9 (enhanced) with every graphics setting turned up to MAX. plays great on my I3 processor with NVIDIA card and 4G of RAM.
Just finished watching your guides. I'm new to the game and I'm about to start, and man... if I wanted to play this 1 now I want to play it 1000. You did a great job explaining things, and I really appreciate your effort and time to make these videos. I assure you that you achieved your goal with me, I CANNOT wait to get into the zone. The depth of this game seems so intriguing like no other game has of this type.
you say a pusdodog dosen't kill you quick and you're right in that. but i hardly encounter just one. it's usually two accompanied by a pack of dogs. don't brush any dogs or cats off in the zone they're lethal.
There's a few you missed off like the physucker and also the Karlik which appears in Anomaly. Also the little rodent Tuskano things which are really weak but can surround you if there's 5-6.
Thanks, been playing mods like oblivion lost on Shadow of Chernobyl for years but after the HOC trailer I decided to try one of these huge total conversions. Instantly lost haha!
Great tutorials brother. Really helpful for new stalkers venturing out in the zone. The crafting system isnt as much complicated as it is tedious and obsolete. I find by the time i get the stuff needed to upgrade/repair/craft what i want i already have the cash to just pay for it. I still like crafting despite its artificially extending the playthrough. It forces you to scavenge which makes it a completely different game imo. Btw if you right click an item and click on details youll get a ton of information very useful for the DIY. For gear for example itll show you what upgrades it has and/or can get. It also shows what upgrade kits you need for those upgrades so that saves you the 1k rubles you pay to use the vice to check it that way. Compatible repair items can also be found on that screen. Checking out the details screen of repair items show you which items are compatible as bonus items because not all are the same. Duct tape for example is a universal bonus item pretty much usable with every repair item in the game but steel wool is only compatible with a few. As for the material you get out of scrapping gear. The mechanic sells tools that let you repair them which makes it perfectly doable to find a weapon in say 16% condition, scrap identical or similar weapons for parts, repair those parts and then use the repaired parts to bring that 16% up to a full 100. The crafting/maintenance system is quite fun if you invest time in it but again its kinda obsolete because it takes so much time to get it up nd running nd by that time you probably have the funds to outright buy whatever you want already.
Thanks!! Yeah I totally agree on the craft/repair stuff. I learned it a bit later, but I still really only use the repair and maintenance. That's key for higher difficulty. The crafting just went over my head because I'd usually have bought what I wanted before I had the recipe for it
@@WaveysGamingAdventure, crafting was what put me off. Repairing is good. I am a rich man so I purchased most of my Schtuff. Will get my PC in a week. Have shifted to the mountains with just my backpack, #JhaaHaaHaa. PC comes next week in a truck.

every low quality repair component that drops in the world can be restored to 100% by using files, sewing kits etc etc so they are not totally useless. i dismantle and collect everything related to my armor and weapons restoring them to 100% so i can maintain my armor and weapons to 100% at no cost using crafting drops i have collected along the way. It's a total mind f@#k to learn but handy when known.

they're stupid, very very stupid and poorly placed mutants that have no place in the STALKER universe. They're just stupid additions from the Anomaly dev team. There already exists chimeras, what a way to water them down.
honestly the crafting / repair / upgrade system is really ruining this mod for me, its completely mental. being uber complicated and realistic =/= fun. it does not add to gameplay at all.
I do have a short video on the repair system in my Anomaly tutorials playlist that might help a little. Other than that, I highly suggest taking a look at Grok's Repair System Overhaul addon. It changes a lot, but makes the repair/crafting so much easier and useful.
I've recently picked up Anomaly again and 1.5.1 is great, it actually runs better than it did before (potato laptop squad). But I'm sad to see the brightness/saturation/gamma sliders still don't work and the game as it is is too dark. Is there any workaround to that or any other way to adjust it?
hi man, i installed the JSRS sounds and the food, drug and drink animations but when i start the client it says at the bottom ''addons can cause problems or crashes'' also i crashed a few times playing the game. any idea on how i can fix this?
That warning is there regardless. As far as crashing, it's impossible to me to diagnose. It could be certain video settings. Could be addons. Check crash logs, you might find a hint in there.

@@WaveysGamingAdventure Interesting idea to mess with stacking repair bonuses. Its on a lot of items especially the ones your meant to consume in a repair right? Ive been trying to find a crafting mod that isnt as easy as the common crafting overhaul i see mentioned a lot. But i also want it to be harder than how gamma is doing it. I could probably turn off the gamma crafting stuff and maybe go back to vanilla... Vanilla feels good in my opinion but the problem is it takes too much initial build up/pack ratting before you can get to the pay off. You know rng parts or guns would almost be really cool, as if it was like a micro looter shooter or something.
To see what you need for repairing weapons or armor, you can right click them and select details to show all kind of information about them. That also works for most items in general. Part of the detailed information on equipment is the parts and their conditions in the item, required items to repair something, installed or required upgrades, etc. I found ua-cam.com/video/kZh0lvwUbjI/v-deo.html to be a pretty good guide about the repair and crafting systems. It's a bit complicated at first, but it is really worth learning about as it can help a lot to save money or get damaged found gear back into usable state.
