Bro, the level of PASSION you put into this car make me tear. Shout out to you and every passionate carhead out there. You, gentlemans, make moving art.
In a world where most people build cars like this to look like race cars but never even go on track, seeing a simple and clean build like this never fails to astonish.
Lancer evo series is one of the best Japanese materpiece JDM icon indeed what a video it was appreciated every second of it the passion for the car is mesmerising
its not that thwy want to discontinue it for good but economy is changing, most people nowadays doesn't want to get sport sedan but a family Suv that is why maeketting a sport sedan that doesn't on demand is too pricey for them and will blow as not profitable...in pur world right now, money talka not passion..
Build????? This is a modern car that’s just had a clean and a detail with a paint correction & a few new parts thrown in for good measure. Nicely done but calling it a “build” is just hilarious.
You have better detailing technique than most detailing youtubers. It's clear that you know what you are doing. Love the refinements to an amazing car. Just amazing.
Like I always say to people, you put more time than money into a car. I have about 640hours into one of my Audis. Thats just redoing the whole engine and trans and suspension brakes, subframes, etc. Its all been put back to factory, and everything painted, new hardware OEM++++
I’d like to think that at least one of the people who helped build this car all those years ago sees this and feels content that it’s getting this degree of love shown to it.
Is it weird to say that this video has made me tear up? i got so emotional watching how this car goes from used and dirty to factory new and shiny. its truly a from of art. this car is also one of my favourite cars out there
What did I just watch?! Probably one of the best videos I’ve seen in a very long time! Bringing me back to the warm feeling of wanting to build cars my own way! Seeing you do your magic is just awesome! Keep it up! It’s amazing to see this quality of a build in a time of car culture like the one we are lacking
I am a senior citizen and it does my heart so good to see a young man like yourself putting such pride and quality in to your work and vehicle. You should be very proud to drive that vehicle anywhere, and to invite anyone to ride in it. I wish you very well.
My only thing to add is using steam on a headliner. Not an evo issue specifically but the glue that adheres the headliner might lose its ability to bond after being hit with heat. You seemed to be very cautious using steam on the headliner but for anyone else looking to clean theirs be careful.
This video made me start tearing apart my 02 WRX to start something similar. It might take me a few years, if not longer. But watching the work and care you put into this has inspired me to give my old Bugeye new life.
This video is amazing. I love the camera work and the music! You can clearly see that this is a passion for you just from all the attention to detail. It’s all about the little things!
I assume that the whole process of restoring and recording was done by yourself. I admire all the effort and desire you put into giving more life to this legendary JDM. All my respect, mate.
Incredible. I owned a 2006 lancer and put my heart and soul into that vehicle. My only regret was selling it. This video brought back so many memories of the endless hours working on it. You are very talented and I will check out your other videos 👍 Much love from Australia
My eyes were glued to the screen for the entire duration of the video... This level of devotion comes out of pure love and passion. Awesome work Chris...
This level of commitment and passion is unrivalled. This is truly inspiring. A few months ago I also got a jdm evo 8 from Japan to Australia and have just had it fully resprayed. These cars are icons and deserve all the love. Thanks for sharing Chris, I can't wait to see what you have in store for this beautiful car!
Such perfection, man. I just picked up an 05 SSL and this has quickly become my favorite/most inspiring channel. I wish I could be out in my garage all day.
I've never been to this channel before this video. I knew this was being filmed in Florida but didn't get confirmation until the end. You gotta love a vehicle to invest that many hours that you did. Great job, great video. I just subscribed and can't wait to see what's to come. 👍👍
@ChrisGoorbarry No problem my dude, the pleasure was all mine. Keep it up. I live in Florida also. In the middle of restoration of my 1997 Nissan XE "Hardbody" pickup. Just sourced a Nissan RB26DETT engine and transmission from Japan with 38K miles. This is going to be fun. 😉✌️
Thank you so much for making this video, u lived the dream of many man. The quality, time and effort in this video can be felt by many. Again thanks for making this video.
Amazing, the amount of work you put in is just insane. I have a short attention span when it comes to watching videos but damn watching this video feels like it's too short. Would love to watch more of these type of content!
Absolutely amazing! The build quality is top-notch, but the editing and narration in the video is equally as high! Did the Evos in Japan have the same issues relating to the paint and extremely thin clearcoat issues Evos in the US had?
@@ChrisGoorbarry That stinks. Does yours need a paint job in the near future? I have a 2008 Civic Mugen Si. Thar generation of Civic had similar paint and ckearcoat issues. Also, are you keeping all the parts you're replacing? I hope you are!
I think you missed a spot 😆 jk So proud of you, for your dedication and the outcome of everything you do! You’re definitely an inspiration for others! Keep it up! 💪🏼🔥🔥
Ahh geez, I watched this a year ago and also today without skipping any part. It’s a moving piece of art and I swear evolution 8 is one of the best looking car probably up until my last breath imo. 🎉
Das Auto sieht einfach extrem gut aus in seiner Gesamtheit. Und es sind eben die Details, die Alles am Ende so bündig aussehen lassen. Excellente Arbeit!
That's one of the best Evo 8's I've ever seen. The fact that you've preserved everything good about Japanese performance in it is a rare sight indeed. They just don't get much better than this. Kudos from Japan.
I don't know what it is, but yours is one of the only channels where I eventually end up watching the same video again and again. LIke a really good movie or great cartoon, you will just watch it again some other day. Sometimes I just need motivation to go clean / care for my 9MR.
I have no idea why I was so glued to this video (apart from my undying love for Lancer Evolutions), but great work both with the car and the video. I've always been partial to Evo 6, but this 8 is definitely a dream car as well. Just a beautiful piece of machinery, and fantastic work done restoring it to it's full glory. Happy driving, give it the beans for me!
This video is so full of pure love and passion to the car, that you can clearly see and feel from the effort and patience put into restoring the car.
Attention to detail is an understatement.. This isn’t something you see often in todays world. Hands down the cleanest evo probably on the planet.
This is art you didn't miss a single thing. Really showed that gem the appreciation it deserves.🤧
Thank you!! 🙏🏼
@@ChrisGoorbarry your Sweet ride is looking real Hot on your UA-cam videos have a 1:24 Subaru WRX
Thanks so much in keeping this much loved EVO on the road in sunny USA , would be hard keeping this clean in the UK

This is modern day art. I love car restoration videos. You've clearly put so much work into this and it really shows. The car is absolutely mint.
You call this car restoration..... 😂😂😂
Lancer evo series is one of the best Japanese materpiece JDM icon indeed what a video it was appreciated every second of it the passion for the car is mesmerising
Mitsubishi made a foolish mistake discontinuing the Lancer. I hope they wont regret it if they should release a new Lancer in the future.

All the blood, sweat and tears… So much dedication put into this build! I’m so proud of you and the outcome, hard work does pay off!! ❤❤
Thank you! I appreciate you always ❤️❤️
don't forget about the lower back pain lol
Well, dude, you have got my approval and a sub. Plus top marks from a person with OCD haha.

It's refreshing to see someone restore a car rather than throwing mods on top of a bad foundation. Great work!

all cars born into enthusiasm deserve this

This video took me back to my childhood. Your love for the car is loud. Love this.

Can't fathom how much this restoration cost, but damn your passion and attention to detail is brilliant to watch. Great work!
