Man I wished Shane hadn't gone insane, he could've been such a great character when Negan arrived
Kieran Ginther Shane would have been Lucilled, Daryl's popularity wouldn't be as big as it is, and Glenn would have died the same way because of Daryl lol and Abraham would have still been killed by Dwight.

Shane remains the best character this show ever had. He's by far the most complex character on the show ever. He was tough, he was a realist, he was mentally abused, and he was misunderstood. Characters with the most complexity opens up a lot of aggressive conversations on whether the character's morality is correct or flawed, and Shane embodies that notion.
I think Rick feels guilty about what happened to Shane. He came to terms with the fact that Judith is Shane's child, and if he would have accepted that fact when Shane was alive, then maybe Shane or even Lori will still be alive.
Even if shane was still alive Lori would have died either way

Every episode I tell myself "what would it be like if Shane was still alive" I really wish he didn't fall in love with Lorie, if he didn't, he would more than likely still be alive right now. The group ended up turning out like he did, so that just goes to show you, Shane accepted that there was no hope and it was the survival of the fittest a lot earlier than anybody else did.
Absolutely agree 100%. Shane is such a complex character and there are so many layers to him. It's great to read other comments from fans who really understand appreciate the complexity that is Shane Walsh. I'd add more, but you said it all already.

Right they probably would've beaten the governor and kept the prison safe and if there was a way for Lori to survive giving birth Shane would've increase those chances too. Shane wasn't a team player tho and he wanted Rick's family so it couldn't work unfortunately

Shane was such an interesting and complex characters, still mad they killed him. I think I agreed with every opinion he had, he was right, he made the hard choices, he was a survivor.
Only issue is his love for lori got in the way of his smart survival skills, if he didnt love lori like he did I feel like he wouldve survived wayyyy longer, ya know?

I liked Shane a lot he had a temper no doubt but he showed rick and Hershel how the world really was and made them wake up to reality. He knew what it took to survive and showed know fear.

I am telling you. Daryl is great and all but there is no greater force then the name of Rick and Shane.
Shane had to die for Rick to become who he is now. After Shane died Rick understood sometimes you have to get your hands dirty to survive. He became who Shane wanted him to be its really good they way it turned out. The group wouldn't have lasted as long if Rick didn't change. Shane thought Rick was to weak but Shane lost it and couldn't get back, Rick lost it but he came back better than ever.
This was beautiful. Almost got me to tears. RIP Shane, best character the show ever had.

Shane went from a literal character made to die in a few pages to...a really complex fan favorite.
I loved this character so much, may not be my favorite, but I can assure you hes in my top 5
Shane is the most complex character the show has ever had imo. He added SOO much intensity to each scene he was in. You never knew what he was going to do, and I LOVED that about him bc I would feel anxious every time he was on-screen. Although I was glad Rick killed him, I cannot help but miss what he contributed to the show as a whole. I mean, just imagine if he had lived well into Season 3, and they had changed the plotline a bit to where he had scenes with The Governor. I would've paid folding money for that, man!! XD this video is amazing in every way, and the dialogue was flawlessly inserted into the scenes you chose. Excellent!!!

They need to make an alternate spin off show about Shane where he ACTUALLY leaves the group when he said he was going to. Some kind of way to bring this character back to life and give something worth watching

With all that is going on I kind of forgot about Shane....but I remember I liked him, even though he went crazy.... he was one of the first to realize what was going on. Let's not forget he was Rick's best friend... You captured their relationship perfectly!
Im one of those people that wished that Shane lived longer. He had the most potential out of most of the characters we lost in the show..

While it's amazing to imagine how interesting and even more depressing Shane's story would of been had he lived (imagine watching your best friend be happy family's with your child and the women you love) look at what Shane has become, he's become a symbol, he is constantly referenced as part of ricks story arc as rick constantly walks the line of sanity that his best friend did before him

Man, I NEVER will forgive lori for what she did to shane. imagine how chilling it would be to see shane and governor face to face
Shane did that to himself. Lori didn't change him. All of them made choices and she didn't lead him on, he knew that she was grieving her husband, just as he was grieving his friend. He couldn't let go.

I wish the writing of TWD would go back focusing on the little details of the characters. The little things that can make or break a person. I feel like they try and make every scene epic. However, I do like the tension that Dwight is bringing. He has alot of inner troubles. I miss Shane!! Lol

Shane was a good man. Even tho he was a total douchebag, he was a brave man. I kinda feel bad for hating him cause of what he did. He saved rick's family, but he lied to Lori that rick was dead. He saved Carl's life after he was shot, however he had to sacrifice Otis' life to do so. He may be gone, but while baby Judith is still around, his spirit lives on...

Friendship is a beautiful thing, and the friendship between Shane and Rick was beautiful-even if it soured and ended in death. There's something powerful about that-the bond between two men and this video captures that so well.

I love how shane kinda predicted ricks fate along with his family. That whole entire conversation Shane and rick had before Shane dies was crazy. It hits even harder when u watch this video
Also at 2:22 the pain and anger in shanes eyes was awesome. Its sad because u can feel his pain. He knew that his own kid would never be his and to be honest i think that was his last straw
