      Oh yeah, they NEVER lie in the product descriptions; nope. If I buy anything off Temu I always plan on it being 2" shorter/wide than what the pictures/title/description shows. Good on you if you've gotten exactly what you paid for! I can't lie, I've bought a few things i'm super happy with but 7/10% of items have gone in the trash. :)

    When ordering the speed square it said pretty clearly that it was 160mm x 95 mm. Looked to be exactly that. How is that a scam?
    You said the chamfer plane didn't work. Why didn't it work?
    You gave the scribe line thing 0 for usefulness. Why? It seems to be the size you need when working with smaller stock.
    Was the scam that you ordered a lot of stuff without knowing how to use them? I don't want to be too negative but I would appreciate a little more background to the purchase, real testing and well explained opinions. I happen to own a few similiar products and they are definitely useful.

    • @JesseNardone
      @JesseNardone  Рік тому

      Hey Daniel, I don’t believe all the products were bad, the chamfer was dull and the red paint was causing so much friction that it was rubbing off on the workpiece. You would think it would come with Atleast an initial sharpness, I was pretty bummed out when it didn’t work the way I hoped.
      Be negative as you want, I chose to put this video up, feedback is always good. This was my initial review, and the scam is that these are woodpecker knock offs, in the essence of time, I do believe a second video is worth while to really look into how these products work and if they are worth the price!
      Thank you for your insight!

    You can't call it a scam because you either didn't read the description, including dimensions or didn't understand what you read. Temu recently started ops in Australia, so I decided to see what I could find that I needed, and see what the quality/service was like.
    What I have bought so far has been cheap in price, cheap in packaging, but of decent quality compared to what I could buy (for much higher prices) locally.
    I do spend a lot of time looking around on the app or site and won't buy any 'big ticket' type stuff. Time will tell I guess.

    I think using the terms ‘scammed’ and ‘garbage’ are a bit unfair and perhaps a reflection on your inability to read the item specifics on the Temu site.
    I’ve checked several of the items you bought and they seem to be listed as exactly what you received. You complained that the large ‘T’ square was marked in millimetres??? What were you expecting from a ‘450mm Metric T square’
    Also, you really didn’t give the plane a fair chance. Trying to take the corner off a 6” long piece of scrap is not a tool test.

    I have just done my first order to test Temu however this review is pretty poor given that most of the products you were expecting to be larger are not what you expected. That’s down to you to actually read what your buying. Secondly being a woodworker myself I think it’s safe to say that you should not buy planes (spokeshaves/chamfer planes) from places like this. Only decent vintage or veritas/quangesheng/lie nielson work well out of the box (with a honing).

  • @DoD33
    @DoD33 Рік тому +1

    Everybody is right, READ THE DESCRIPTIONS! If they printed a different size and you ordered it then you would've gotten scammed, they tell you exactly what the sizes are. And another thing, the whole world uses the metric system, THAT'S WHY THEY ARE THAT SIZE, you're used to inches and feet that's why everything you have is so damn big. I wish I grew up using metrics instead of inches and feet because to tell you the truth, it's so much easier to carry around all of that SMALL stuff and get the same, and more exact measurements than to carry all these big bulky things around we have to.

    I watched your video to see if there were any other products from Temu that I do not have yet. I have all 6 of your items and 4 items I was able to buy in inches (Imperial) and they all work fine. The T-Square is aluminum and is nearly 1/4 the price of a American brand and is accurate. The chamfer I use the 1/4 round to take the sharp edge off my work (especially on french cleats) and it worked just fine also, and better than a small straight planer. The 6 inch square is great for checking my blade angles and measuring out small pieces. They are all sturdy. The spokeshave is a tool you must practice with, no one can do good work with one on their first try. Mine took a couple days for me to get accurate with. A few items from Temu are junk. Those items in Imperial versions are fantastic and a great deal. I think if you had imperial versions you would warm up to them.

    If those items are anodised, which they look to be, then they are aluminium, not steel alloy. To me you got what you ordered. The fact that most of the world has gone metric is not a scam- it is an excellent measuring system that beats your ''metric inches'' (and that's an oxymoron if ever there was one). Temu isn't structured right for survival. Its trying to airfreight all its stuff from China because it fairly clear by their shipping time that that is the only way stuff can arrive in that short of a period. That why packages are so oddly shaped because they are being flown as extra cargo and simply crammed into the aircraft to fill up space. You can also see it by the product they are selling its all lite weight and small.
    There is no other way they could set up and gotten products through to customers. Amazon has built huge infrastructure in the US to do bossiness and Temu simply lack that.
    So my advice is to abuse the hell out Temu before they go broke. Buy there cheap consumables and things you want try but stick to hardware store on anything you intend to keep long term.
    You also weren't using there coupons because I have one sitting unclaimed that would taken twenty dollars off your total. Also you weren't exactly being a value shopper in the item you chose you could have hunted around and received most of then for 50% discount on the site.
    Also watch out for the scam listings there are common where they will try and trick you into buying something not as listed. This fairy common so always make sure your buying what you think you are before clicking yes.

    No scam involved in anything you bought just an extremely poor shopper who did not read the data given with the products. Sizes are shown with most tools and are generally in imperial for your market and metric for the rest of the world. For the price, the quality is more than acceptable when compared to branded makes. The only 'scam' is that a lot of tools on Temu appear to be rip-offs of their expensive cousins.

    Read the description. Dont act all indignant and let down when the product description says what it is. You didnt get scammed. Im 6 mins and clicking off. Talk too slow. Take too much time to open stuff like slow motion and then act like you got cheated or something...nah...no thanks

    They coerced you? You must have a freaking weak mind. I love temu. Very low prices and everything came as expected, provided you read the descriptions and measurements in the pictures. I only had 2 mistakes so far. A lamp that arrived broken. I sent in a pic and they refunded me right away. Another is missing set of magnets. Again they refunded me right away. I tend to stay from wood working tools as most stuff they have are in metric only.

    I know nothing about Temu but, if you don’t understand what 150mm x 90mm is…you might want to look it up.
    25.4…know this number

    This was satire right? Right? Because clearly you have no clue. You bought a bunch of cheap stuff, and thats what they send you, cheap stuff

    This has to be just about the most uninformed, useless and careless review I have ever seen. A great example of the bad side of UA-cam. As someone says below - the only scam here is this video :(

    You just set out thinking you were going to be scammed and found any reason to show that you were. You showed no demostration of use for any of the items to back up your thoughs. I have 2 of these items and they do what they are ment to do, very accurately at a cost a lot less then branded items. This is one of the worest reviews I have seen on Chinese tools! Stick to the day job!
