    no need to grip a tank really on a cruiser. I always have my legs pretty loose. This demo has forward controls for some reason. the mid mounted pegs feel even better. I toss this bike around like a bicycle lol. I had this as my 2nd bike but I only had a sportster for like 2 months before getting it. this bike never felt like too much to me. Unfortunately it got totaled 2 weeks ago because some lady didn't see me and blew a stop sign. I plan on getting another when I get this cast off my hand. I can't think of any bike I want more. I loved my fxdb

    I just got this as my first bike and I absolutely love it. I was looking at the Sportster 1200 and 883 Iron, but they felt perfect and I knew i would grow out of these. Ive had this for just over 2 months and I really enjoy her.

      Do you have any videos of your wife riding her street Bob? I'd love to see them. I bought a street Bob and it just feels so heavy. For me. It's my first bike.

    It really depends on the person honestly, if that person may feel uneasy about it than they may want to consider other options....they just need to understand and respect what they're getting themselves into...

    If you have mid controls you won't notice the air box there. but all in all you can't really hug the tank in this kind of bike.

    Thinking this or the Victory Octane, would this be a good beginner bike? I have road my dads Road King I haven't moved the acceleration yet he taught me by just releasing the clutch. The turning was a little difficult since it was my 1st time but I loved every minute of it lol. I'm stuck here any advice would be great! Awesome review btw:)

    Is there a big difference in vibration between this bike and the sportsters?

  • @americanrebelking8337
    @americanrebelking8337 6 років тому

    Not sure why people say beginners can't ride a bike based off "power". A Indian scout at 1133cc has 100 horsepower and is the beginner bike for Indian.. flick ability, breaks, size. All that is what beginners who are not speed demons need to worry about.

    Hey man, thanks for posting this video! I test rode a new Street Bob and a new Forty Eight the other day as both are appealing to me. I haven't been a long-distance highway rider in the past...mostly just around town on my '79 Honda CB650 that was modified into a brat-style bike. I love the sporty feel of my bike, but it's small and could use more power at higher speeds as well as stability to combat wind since it's a smaller, lighter bike.
    I"m just curious which of those two did you actually get more joy out of riding? It sounds like you enjoyed the torque of the Street Bob, but aside from that which would you choose? The rides that I went on were too short for me to really get a feel for the bikes and it was my first time on a HD, so the experience was very alien to me from the vibrations, haha!
    Thanks in advance!

      I rode the Fat Bob and the Street Bob yesterday and bought the Street. Found it a bit more agile than the Fat Bob and easier to split lanes. That said, the styling of the Fat Bob is kind of awesome. Both great bikes!

    I recently bought a 2016 dyna street bob for my first bike. put certain mods on it that I liked both to enhance performance and cosmetics. And I ride it just fine for my first bike. Although I have had experiance on alot of off road bikes. But I think your right if it is your first time twisting a throttle, I wouldnt suggest it either.

      @arch417powersports  8 років тому

      A lot of dirt riders can jump on street bikes and have no problems like you mentioned. They know control for the most part. A completely new rider might have a hard time with this bike between the power and the size.

    well weekend bikers need to leave this bike alone. I use mine as primary
    ride and back and forth to work. 1690 cc and 98 torque. love how
    everyone goes to harley and takes it for a 4-7 mile ride and gives
    review. had mine 1 year now. great bike. only have 4300 miles on it
    because got where I could not ride it for 2 months. but going to do an
    owners review of this bike.

    Quick question about the starter switch. So it doesn't have a key or something? Like if you park that in the Walmart parking lot, what prevents somebody walking and turning it on, and of course possibly stealing it? If there's nothing preventing that, not sure I would to leave that unattended. Not the best idea if you ask me. Just wondering about that.

      It might be a little intimidating for your first bike but give it time and take it easy... I'm only 5'4" and yea I dropped it twice also, mostly due to not wearing the correct shoes. But it's a great bike and easy to ride

    when I was shopping for a bike this was one of two Harley Davidson bikes I looked at in the end I couldn't justify the price for the lack of power, warranty, and build so I bought myself a Victory Highball for 10K less and got more. ...I like the Harley Davidson bikes but they just cost so much.

    • @tony2227
      @tony2227 8 років тому

      And that's where you fail a Harley rider doesn't buy a Harley because it's the best bike,,, because it's not ,,,, we buy it because it's a cult it's a culture it's a brotherhood ... You buy a bike and you make it your own ...you will spend LOTS of money making powerful ,,, true ,,, BUT it will be a wild stallion brother and no matter what people say if you buy a Harley yes you will spend a lot money but in resale value no one,,, NO ONE can beat a Harley your bike will cost half in a year in 3 years your bike will be worth next to nothing and that's the difference with Harley ... But hey .... To each it's own ride safe!!

    • @Roadhammer3406e
      @Roadhammer3406e 8 років тому

      Tony Vasconcelos I buy what I want cause I like it and I'm paying for it not cause of some
      "Brotherhood"

    • @tony2227
      @tony2227 8 років тому

      And that's the difference in being a rider and being a Harley rider ,,,, day and night.

    • @Roadhammer3406e
      @Roadhammer3406e 8 років тому

      Tony Vasconcelos then your buying a bike for the wrong reasons a bike is meant to be enjoyed not to impress people

    • @tony2227
      @tony2227 8 років тому

      Dude I said that when you buy a Harley is because of the culture because of the brotherhood because of the resale value because you want to make it your own,,,,
      WHERE IN THE HELL DID YOU READ THAT IT WAS TO IMPRESS SOME ONE?!!!!!!!!
      when did those reason I gave you become the wrong reasons to buy a Harley ?!!!!
      My reason are exactly the reasons that would make a rider feel good... If economy is your reason for not buying a Harley then it's your reason!!!
      My reasons are the same of many and never once I said that it was to impress some one... You buy whatever makes you feel good and if Japanese cruiser makes you feel good then Good for you.
      My original comment was that a Harley rider buys a Harley not because this are the best bikes in the world ,,,because they are not ....we buy them because of the reason I posted above.

  • @Peter-976

    Out of the two Sportsters, Streetbob, and S Slim, it seems like you really enjoyed the Streetbob the most. Would that be an accurate assumption?

    • @arch417powersports
      @arch417powersports  8 років тому

      Yes, the Dyna Street Bob felt like the "truest" cruiser. I liked the ape hangers a lot. I liked the Softail Slim a lot as well but the Dyna takes it for me. The Sportsters were low on power and a rougher ride but I wouldn't put them in the same class as the Bob and Slim.

    NOT FINDING NEUTRAL? ? ? ? NO, I CAN'T HAVE THAT. THAT HAS YET TO HAPPEN ON MY 2016 SUZUKI, WHICH I BOUGHT BRAND SPANKING NEW. HOW MANY MILES TO DATE? OVER 8K, NOW.
    THE WAY IT RAN WHEN I BOUGHT IT, IS THE WAY IT RUNS NOW. MAYBE IT CAN BEAT A SPORTSTER 1200.
    THAT'S A STRONG MAYBE. I'D RATHER HAVE A SMOOTHER RUNNING BIKE WHERE YOU CAN FIND NEUTRAL EASILY AND NOT HAVE ANY FLOATING NEUTRALS.
