Such a beautiful arrangement, love the 'surprise' elements of pokeberry and hydrangea ❣❣❣
Thanks so much Michelle! I love Pokeberry- when it's in Season... and Hydrangeas... are a dream!
The Marigolds were hitting me in my EYE!! ❤️
BAM- Thanks Ira- I'm glad you enjoyed this Project!
Great job! Love the "fresh from the garden" form. I love marigolds and glad to see you using them. The spicy fragrance, ferny branches, cheerful colors and ease of growing is great! Nothing more satisfying in the garden than to hear the "pop" when deadheading. 😀
It's true Kristine- Marigolds are MY FAVORITE To deadhead... that POP... You got it!
Absolutely love marigolds. They are such underrated cutting flowers. I grow lots of them and they sometimes can last for 4 to 5 weeks on a vase.
I totally agree! They are very underrated- I love all types of Marigolds Gretchen!
Beautiful Bouquet, love the flowers you picked and their colors.
Thanks so much- Color is my Biggest Motivation... I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Really beautiful! Thanks for your work. God bless you!
Thank you so uc Milagros- I appreciate you watching and commenting!
My first year of flower farming here. Grew some Marigolds this year planning to sell them in bouquets with other annuals. It turned out that I experienced flower discrimination for the first time, only sold a handful of bouquets. Some of the potential customers said: "it is the flower of the dead" and that I might have luck trying to sell them on "el día de los muertos".
I'm not in México, by the way. Now I try to hide them under other flowers just to give volume to the bouquets.
I think it is a beautiful flower and never thought that people here see it only as something good for a cemetery. 😔
Hi Boris- and thank you for taking the time to share your experience... I want to REASSURE you- that people can sometimes be less than Kind... and I'm sorry you experienced this trait... UGH! - At the Same Time... the Disney Movie "Coco".... gave rise to great interest in 'dia de los muertos'- one of my favorite holidays- I say Holiday- because it is the time for us to Celebrate the Lives of our Ancestors- and Friends... even pets... and the significance of the Marigold- is the flower is thought to transcend space and time- and help us connect- to our Loved ones... and their Spirits... - It's become quite popular throughout the US... and my Wonderful Friends- that celebrate it as part of their culture- find this celebration- to be happy- joyful- meaningful- and usually observe the holiday in their homes- rather than a cemetery... just a little bit of background...
In turn- lets talk about how Marigolds are being used as Exceptional Culinary additives- the flowers are edible when grown organically and can be successfully (and deliciously) added to Salads, Pasta, Ravioli, and infused into syrups, elixirs and even vodka, tequila or gin... to much enjoyment...
I always try to remind myself- (and you have given me a good reminder today- THANK YOU)... That I need to trust my heart-eyes and soul- when it comes to flowers... I would buy your bouquets of Marigolds ALL DAY LONG... and I would relish- the opportunity to have a marigold or two - in my bouquet- every week...
I also forgot to mention- that the Very Successful and Popular Cologne (for both men and women) Issy Miachi- is created with Fresh Marigolds- and is Popular all over the Planet... so don't let a few unkind- naysayers - ruin your Passion for Flowers my Friend... I believe in YOU- and I love Flowers- and I truly LOVE Marigolds... Feel Free to share my comments- with your customers- and Put your Marigolds Front and Center... I think you may find MORE Customers that LOVE them... especially when you encourage them- share recipes, cultural experiences- and more with them... THANK YOU again for sharing your thoughts- and taking the time to comment - it was a great opportunity for me to try my best to help and encourage you... Keep up the Good Work- and FLOWER POWER ON my friend!
@@LifeinBloom Thanks for such thoughtful and reassuring reply. I'm not in USA too, needed to clarify that. I live in another latin country but there are some cultural differences regarding that holiday. It didn't stop me from growing them and will keep looking for other customers who just appreciate all kinds of flowers.
Thanks again J!
I love marigolds. The ruffled petals, the spicy fragrance, the ferny leaves, the cheerful colors and ... from my childhood, the satisfying "pop" when deadheading!!
Just stunning! Thanks.. judy in Pensacola
You are so welcome! I appreciate you tuning in Judy!
FABULOUS!!! I do not have a flower farm but where might I look in my area to find the selection of flowers year-round?
Thank you Pix... A professional Florist is a GREAT Resource- they can help you find season flowers all year round!
🥰🥰🥰
Thank you Lysa!
What is the variety of marigold you are using?
Orange Doubloon Marigolds... Bought the plants at the Farmers Market... and then cut them from the garden...
Loved the fall colors. I was never a fan of the smell of marigolds. Another channel gave a hint that if you pull every leaf off and put them in water, within an hour the smell is gone. I am not able to try this trick to see if it works.
I've not heard that Kenneth- but I notice they don't smell nearly as strong after they have been cut and in the water for about an hour... so maybe it's just the cutting... I don't know... HOWEVER- I LOVE the SMELL of Marigolds... so I wouldn't want to test the trick either... LOL!
😵😍
Thank you so much Vika!
