    As you're picking the maggots off the pile side of the carpet then it is likely that food was dumped there prior to the rug being ditched. But I happen to know that some carpet backing materials can also become maggot infested. I'm going back about three or so decades here, but I recall that, after my maternal grandmother died, we were asked to remove the carpet that had been laid in one of her sheltered housing rooms. This was done, and the carpet stored in the family home garage. I noted at the time that the foam backing of the carpet had a distinctive smell, slightly sweet and not unpleasant, but not very strong, either.
    Sometime later, I noticed that something had been eating this foam backing, leaving a branching pattern. at the ends of each of the branches was a brown coloured pupa, which I thought resembled a fly pupa. I told my mother about it: she was dismissive at first, but later apologised when the papae hatched and the garage was swarmed with greenbottle flies!
    Now I know my grandmother's carpet was clean- she was a fastidious sort, and up to a couple of weeks before she died, was active and able to do the cleaning. There was also no alternate source of food in the garage, not even cardboard. All that the maggots had to eat was the foam backing on that carpet, and they not only ate it, they got enough nourishment out of it to complete their development.

    • @pikathechao3701
      @pikathechao3701 Рік тому

      @@yFilex If all flies stopped existing, dead stuff would pile up so fast it would be a biohazard. If the flies get to it, they can eat it and turn it back into soil. Just because one touches your food once in a while, doesn't mean they're all a bad thing. Even mosquitos, their larva feed small fish and tadpoles. Big maggots like that also make really good fishing bait, so they'll still be more useful alive and wriggling than squished!

    You did an amazing job on this rug! It looks thousands of times better than it did when you started! Thank you for sharing this video on here!

    My favorite part of these videos is almost always when the back of the rug gets the power washer. You can really see the grime getting blasted out and it's so, SO satisfying.
    About how long does it usually take to clean a rug - especially a difficult job that requires sanitizer - from first rinse to centrifuge?

    My 7 yr old daughter watched with me and she was counting all the times you put soap on the rug. She had some really cute commentary.🤣 "Five times, now, buddy. Really? Five times!?"

    I came across another cleaning channel and hoped it was as good as yours. Nope. You put in so nuch more CARE than the other page did. Their videos felt very rushed, not taking the time to do it with care. This page has become my favorite ❤

    Wow, that was a seriously impressive amount of dirt that tiny rug held onto. I didn't think you would be able to get it back to 'as new' condition but you did. Very impressive and meticulous cleaning.

    Sir i think you need to sue Rug Doctor brand cause aint no way they deserve to use that name after THIS. you're the TRUE Rug Doctor. I cant believe how cute that rug was under all that, for lack of a better word, biohazard. That's probably the cutest rug ive ever seen and you made it look brand new. absolutely inconceivable and nothing short of a miracle. I hope it went to a good home.
