i’d like to give some of my own advice for others looking to take care of their skin: firstly, oil cleansers should come first if they don’t emulsify and wash off easily. if they emulsify, then it’s fine to do them second, but if they don’t, it’s best to do them first, so the second cleanser removes any traces of oil from the skin. makeup wipes are not the best choice if one has sensitive, dry, and/or dehydrated skin (my skin is oily/dehydrated and sensitive, and doesn’t tolerate makeup wipes well). they’re somewhat abrasive, don’t actually clean everything off, and can be very drying and irritating. it’s better to use some micellar water on a cotton pad. same quickness as a makeup wipe if you just want to get everything off and go to bed, with gentle cleansing that still takes things off your skin effectively. for those looking to add more products to their routine, be aware that your skin may not tolerate any “actives” like salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, or vitamin c. my skin tolerates salicylic acid very well, but benzoyl peroxide damaged my skin barrier and made my skin worse. patch test to check for irritation and allergies before adding new things, and only add things in one at a time. i’ve never tried vitamin c, but it’s not really recommended for beginners. it can further irritate already irritated, damaged or sensitive skin. some vitamin c products are also ph dependent, and so you need to use ph-altering products before the vitamin c product to ensure it’s effective. it’s just really complicated and annoying to work with if you’re not into skincare. products with tea tree might not be tolerated well if one has sensitive skin. hyaluronic acid adds hydration, not moisture (hydration = water, moisture = oil, in skincare). generally, one should be moisturising one’s skin with a light moisturiser in order to keep any hydration in, including if one has very oily skin (can be sign of damaged skin barrier). if one’s moisturiser is making one’s acne worse, one needs a different moisturiser. my skin is oily/dehydrated and needs a moisturiser or else it will get worse. my moisturiser also has hyaluronic acid and actually helps when i have acne. i currently use the cerave acne foaming cleanser w/ 2% salicylic acid and the cerave pm face moisturiser. i used to have really bad acne, and used benzoyl peroxide for it, which damaged my skin. this stuff helped clear up my acne. i still have dehydrated skin, so i’m looking for hydrating toners, but in the meantime, this works.
@mossbrained Everyone's skin is different. My suggestion may work for some people and then not for others, just wanted to share my steps so people could try if they want to. 🤓☝️
@@amandamacdonald6561 of course! i wanted to share my own experience. i've struggled with my skin for years and it's only just started to get better. i've tried a lot of different things. i'm happy that this routine works for you!
I’m a demigirl with a love-hate relationship with makeup. I like wearing makeup because it hides the insecurities I have with my face, but I hate how feminine makeup makes me feel. This video helped a lot with finding a non-feminine makeup routine! I have also been trying to look less feminine when it comes to hair, clothes, etc, and your videos help with that, too. Keep doing what your doing and never let anyone tell you that what your doing is wrong. You have brought me and so many others the confidence we otherwise didn’t have. Have an awesome dayyy:)
This is perfect timing, I just told some of my teachers to refer to me with my new name and now I'm looking for more androgynous clothes and makeup TYYYY (demi-boy btw :3)
I also really don't like feeling like having too much makup on, I feel really uncomfortable in it (both on a sensory and social level). But most makup tutorials are about the full glam look and big winged liner. Lol, even before this video, when I saw your makeup I knew it was a viable option for me to learn how to do. I'm finally starting to feel confident through my makup for the first time in my life and it's kind of empowering 🙃
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! ❤ Im not sure if im NB yet, but definitely makes me feel weird dressing hyperfeminine (which i love) but having an extremely feminine face combined. Idk why, it just makes me feel weird 😂
I've found that less blush and light/no concealer on my undereyes helps me feel less dysphoric about makeup, and putting black eyeliner in my waterline to make my eyes look a bit smaller
