Hi Joshua, I planted Thuja standishii x plicata 'Green Giant' and they are one step above the Emerald Green, Grows 2-4 Ft Per Year. Will follow you to see how yours does! Wishing us both luck in our gardening/
Hey Joshua, I absolutely love your videos and have followed you for a while 😄 Quick question that isn’t specifically related to this video: how would you approach acclimating a plant (Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum) to direct sun? I live in Portugal and they grow in direct sun here, but when I left mine outside for 1-2 hours the leaves got badly scorched 😭 Thanks a lot and have a great day!
Hi! What I can say to answer your question is if the plant is starting out inside, place it in a shady area for a couple of days, move it to an answer that gets a little bit of direct Sun for a couple more days, and slowly being it into full Sun over the course of a week. If the plant is already outside and you need to transplant it, try to do so when there’s a chance for clouds/overcast for a couple days when you transplant it. If not, you can try to stick it in a pot and do the same before finally placing it in the ground.
Thank you so much for the information on these!
Light blocking drapes work fabulously too😁
Would love an update. Make sure you water them consistently the first 1-2yrs.
Great video! Those Emerald Green Arborvitae also do a nice job hiding the fence.
Here's a tip, Lowes has the same Arborvitae on sale for $40! I just purchased 10 yesterday. Good Luck!
I will have to take a look!

I have those planted at my dad’s house! In fact I will be uploading a video tomorrow (Saturday 10/15) on these!

Hi, How much space you have given between the plants?
I can’t say a a toy how far, but about 1 1/2 feet apart. Definitely less than 2 feet
