Having raced in the bay area for 60 years, Antioch is best explained like this. A lot pf crashing/fighting and every once in a while a race breaks out!
Tanner, I’ve been following you since your beginning. I’m 64 and have been around sprint cars all my life. Cut my teeth on the bleachers at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City IL. I want to offer this: The difference between good sprint car drivers and great ones is this; good drivers are consistently in the top 10, and stay out of trouble. Great drivers drive it like they stole it, and stretch their limits every time they go out. Love him or hate him, Steve Kinser was one of the best! Watch videos on how he drove. You are destined to be a great driver someday I believe. You have to push it! Good luck, win!
Well put. Steve Kinser was a great race car driver the King of Sprint Car racing. We watched Steve go from last to first by turn 4 in the A main? He was amazing fun to watch. 😅
Good race. Started 18th finished top ten. Thats a good night on a short track.
Your heat starts looked fine to me.
I had fun! My right foot was fearhering the pedal the whole way! To storm to a top 10 from that deep in the pack made it fun for me to ride along. Keep up the good work. ✌✌
😂😂😂😂😂love the get out of Antioch advice, spot on 🎯
That heat was bs the car in side tried to take you out 3 times officials made bad call to favor the cali boys
Yeah, it looked like they had the right rear on the left side or something. After they got bumped back he just sails that thing in there. Would definitely wanna have a talk after that.
car 43 was playing games in the heat race, then almost got into your l/f going into 1 , what a squid.
Those starts looked fine to me.
When you can pull onto your trailer in one piece, it was a good day. I would definitely give you the Hard Charger trophy. That was a good race, keep the momentum going!! ✌️
Getting 9th place racing there is a moral victory in itself. ..Wishing you well going forward ..
To come away from a unique track like Antioch with a hard charger award the first time that you have ever been to it I would say that's a pretty good night. Thanks for sharing this video Tanner. May y'all have a good one. Have fun take care.
P.s. I saw Carly limping good doe the first time in a couple videos now. Is she okay?
Excellent performance. Super fun to watch.
Love the Cali content!
It is interesting your comments at the end. I was thinking the same thing about half way through the race. I can not even imagine what things were like when the Outlaws rolled around that place.
Kiddo, nice race staying clean in the feature. Better times around the corner. 👍
Both starts looked fine to me
To bad you'll never get a chance to run Calistoga. One of my favorite track's. Young Man you definitely have so much natural talent behind the wheel. Just keep doing you and stay positive. God bless THR and your Loved ones. Can't wait to see Carly get back behind the wheel soon. Keep pushing forward y'all's
My old home town. Went to the races every weekend. Also raced my flat track bike there.
Great work
Awesome Run Tanner ...!!!
In my opinion, you never jump started AT ALL!
Tanner my grandpa made your motor when you were in box stocks and you gave me some stuff and thank you so much for it i really appreciate
Way to keep focused and drive up 8spots! Looked like the pole sitter was jumping the start, does the front row get penalized for the polesitter jumping?!?
Way to get up on the wheel!
This is one of my favorite videos. I get where you're coming from kinda not feeling good about the night. Don't really think you were at any fault in the heat. Probably would have been a top 5 car in the feature. Great move on lap 17. You ran a solid race.
I raced at Antioch back in the 70s. We raced what we called skinny's. The car I raced was a 1960s Corvair station wagon body cut down to be 30 or so inches wide with out a body from the firewall foreword. And had a small teardrop wing on the roof. So it was open wheel. Some were four coil and some front coil and read leaf. The engines were small block Chevy some Ford. Back then it was a high bank. In the 80s we raced the San Jose speedway super that I built and was the crew chief for. If I remember right I think we ended running 20 inches of rollout because of the banking.
Tanner it is tough to race at certain places, all a learning expierenece. I thought in your heat race the pole sitter had it in for you.
Wow! Top ten from that starting spot on a quirky track you have never seen before is great! Antioch is one of those places you need a bunch of races before you get comfortable. Not many tracks stay wet and tacky on the corners and then it's super slick right where you accelerate out of the corner.
2nd! Love watching you Tanner! That’s why I created my own channel!
Keeping a level head, believing in oneself, each lap, moment may be indicative of the previous and the next. Be aggressive when needed, but, only polite "After" the race......Go get em Tanner...no prisoners, one winner...! Every time you get to a new track, conditions, it builds that repertoire to the next, aka., (wisdom)....
Back in the 70s the fast way was up on the fence. If you entered low you would end up on the wall exiting turn 2 or 4and would have to get out of the throttle to keep from hitting the turn 2 or4 wall. The entrance on to the track was at turn 4 and the exit was turn 3. It has changed a lot since then.
Hey, you climbed 9 spots that's great racing, that red car was crazy I thought he was going to wreck you every time he got close to you‼️💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫 You are my star‼️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼💫❤️💫💫💫
Thx again for the autograph man I appreciate it
Nice run tanner and crew 👍 safe travel to souther Oregon. Grants pass says hello
You gotta get Caleb on your channel more, he's a character
Hey, at least the clock in the trailer is right twice a day.
Nice race, you got rolling pretty good. Top 10 from the starting position you had is decent.
Hi, Tanner, from my perspective it looked to me like the pole car was jumping the start, and YOU got called for it? Any way, you definitely deserved the Hard charger award. Great drive on a strange track. God Bless and stay safe.
Good race Tanner. 10 more laps and you would have won. Car is in one piece. Great learning experience. Add it to your wisdom and knowledge and move on to the next.
The track has been plagued with rain. This is like only the third show they have got in. Good showing, 18th to 9th. Good luck in your next race.👍😁
I didn’t see any jump start from your camera angle. Lemonade night!
Flag man only has 1 eye. He can't see the start line but he is working there for free.
Looks like you got Homered on the heat race starts. They wanted their locals on the front row and in the dash.
Elvis sang a song about Antioch Speedway, In The Ghetto.
I'd bet a track favorite was in the second row of the heat. There was nothing wrong with the start of the heat race.
Nice job top 10 and from 18 or 19 to 9th.
What engine r u running? Chevrolet/toy/ honda
Way cool! Big shout out to #3 Kaleb Montgomery!
You should hit the 2 day world of outlaws show at Wilmot Wi. in July. I got a great spot for your toter set up to park. Next to a great bargain meat and bulk store. Less than 10 minutes away. Secure with lighting. Track is your style.
Was at antioch speedway to watch this race and being there a lot the track proves time after time it's a rough and tough track to conquer and if your new to antioch your in for a roller coaster of a day
Watched the initial start of the heat several times - leader dictated the jump and went into turn 1 first - how on earth did they ding you for that - was a perfectly normal start??
from we ran there they have flatten out the turns a lot. and YA it`s slimmy in the beginning of the night. and yes get out of the area quickly lol
1&2 was re-done a few years ago. I think that’s the reason the banking is different coming off the corner.
It's too bad that you traveled so far and let NARCs arbitrary race management make such a big effect on your night. Seems like I am seeing this from them every weekend. I hear Skagit is beautiful this time of year.
They weren't playing about the rough neighborhood.
My car got broke into that night and some of my work inventory was stolen
Great Run at Anitoch! Was cool to see you out there for my first ever 410 race watched in person. Thanks for you and Carly for signing my hat as well as a picture with you! Your the Best!
The west coast is such a terrible place to race sprint cars as far as track conditions go. The upside is that it's been producing the best drivers for quite a few years now because of the cowboy up nature of all the tracks, the downside is that it can get really expensive for a family owned team.
Wheres Ryder?????
wow you're A- Mian was cow boy up!!
Would say, dig them corners completely out and bring in some new material. I'm talking down twenty feet, what a sink hole track. Have been apart of road construction for well over forty years and bot this needs a better base.
That was a good start me personally but
Put in your setup book. Never come back to this track.
The heat race starts were fine. You didn’t jump or anything. That’s ridiculous. The lead car looked like he was trying to take you out before he even got into the throttle
Been watching you for a while now. Great job during the main. The heat race highlights, in my opinion, a flaw. Your starts are lacking. They go, you don’t. It’s been this way for a long time. Especially at the front. In the pack it’s hard to start regardless. But keep digging.
You know how to race J.Cox next time....hope you are going to Tulare !
👍🏻
I spent a lot of years at antioch and with the last promoter John Soares.
Oh wow, Johnny Soares, I spent many a Saturday night in disagreements with him and the head official racing at Petaluma Speedway. I'd say it was 50/50 them being hard asses and me being an a-hole kid. He had a crazy racing career though
Who were the racers you were talking to? Guys from OR??? WillyB
It looked like you needed to pull a wire off a spark plug to calm down all that wheeling out of the turns. Good job coming back through the field like that.
This one track you need to ride the brake, that would stop the wheel spin and wheeling. And help the car be more stable.
I thought in the heat 1st place car forced his car into your lane, that's what I seen, the feature looked to go well for ya, seemed like your car had a awful amount of forward bite off ,if you had another 10 laps maybe top 5.🤔🏁🇺🇸ML33MI.
Same track for everyone , I like your channel but just buck up and drive it
You'd been outta your mind with the old tracks like Langhorne or bullring Hatfield where men were men.
Yes tanner ive seen those bind officials before oddesa tx,many years ago didnt matter how clearly you won ,soory son yes you finished first BUT you been disqualified! For what??? Well we will let you know son ,but youve been disqualified!!!! Crazy!
My last name is hommes😂
Cox screwed you he should not be aloud to start up front you were better than that hello Carly
You got screwed in the heat race. That was bullshit.
I hate when NOBODY tracks try and be sticklers for starts. There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with that 2nd start 🤦♂️🤬
O
Antioch speedway officials are blind and dumb .
My older brother has a 500 dollar fine there when he worked on a dirt late model and the car he worked on had another cars front bumper in his rear bumper area
As long as you learn something and keep good data, you win.
@markwatkins5416 my brother was a crewman, not a driver. And other drivers said the same thing
Rubbing is Racing Son? Lmmfao 😅
First, mom said I was my turn to be pinned.
Good effort, you're second
Man, I like your channel but dude your blow-by-blow commentary is very boring, just trying to be honest. Good racing, that track was very rough.
