I recently bought The Hidden Life of Trees and can’t wait to get to it. I have a deep interest in mycology and read a lot of books on this subject. This will be a good nature read and be related in someways. Enjoy!
That is a great book haul. I’m not science trained but I wish I had studied biology because I’m interested in all the books you showed but I would have to be a botanist, a geologist, a geneticist, an ornithologist....I will always regret giving up sciences, but my maths was awful so I’d never have done much! I can read about things though. If you go to All d books D is for Doris and she’s hosting a nature book read you might enjoy. I see several titles in your collection that I’d like to read when my purse is in slightly better shape!! 😊🌷💕
I'm so glad you've still got your interest in science, even if it wasn't your area of study! Science communication is something I'm growing increasingly passionate about. I think too many people see science as a big scary monster, but the whole point of popular science books is to relay scientific concepts to the public! And I can totally relate to the maths thing... Thanks for watching :)
I Love non-fiction books. Reading nonfiction I have a stronger feeling that I’m truly learning something, because it’s “not fiction” 😁 idk I’m a woman of science so nonfiction makes more sense to me, but I end up learning a lot of things lately with fiction books as well. I love your channel, it’s very rare to find a booktuber talking mostly about these book category. 👌😉🔝
I've been trying to get more into non-fiction and when I say that I mean that I love the genre but struggle a bit more in finding titles that sound appealing to me in comparison to fiction, so this was super useful to watch! Aroused sounds incredibly intresting, I have a long story with hormones imbalances and how they can affect you and there's a general lack of knowlege on the topic, which is completely undertstandable but the fact that you've picked it up to know more about this subect really shows the power of non-fiction!! Loved this!
Great recommendations and an interesting haul. Looking forward to more. Can you leave a list of the books you have talked about below. Its just easier to look them up on Amazon than pausing every few minutes!
You might love "The Last Stargazers" by Emily Levesque as well. I tend to read history/sociology nonfiction, but these sound great. So excited to branch out!
I just spent to many hours watchind/ discovering nonfiction booktube and iÎ hust have to say you seem really nice and I really enjoed your video! A few books have just been added to my goodreas want to read pile =) thanks for the inspirations
Interesting book haul, Nicole! I would be interested in seeing you review any of the ones you read and your opinions on them. I, too, agree that all living things are evolving. I don't think Earth has reach a dead end yet. Those changes are subtle and take time. But it's interesting if you look at humans just over the last half a century, you can see changes going on. Checking back in a few millennia could be an amazing experience.
Oh I remember my own anatomy class at uni. The professor had this segment called 'what went wrong' where he'd show us slow motion videos of horrible sport injuries and boy did that stick with me haha!
this is so interested!! i'm really bad at reading non-fiction haha but some of these sound so cool!! aroused sounds super interesting and I loved oesteology stuff too!!! I love sciency non fiction aha
Please make more videos like this. I am making a list of books to read.
Sapiens is an absolute must-read.
