We need greek aprons!!!! I dont need a Tshirt or mug! But a really great apron!!!. I usually buy the william and sonoma ones not just for my kitchen but I also use them in my garden. Black in the garden and blue for my kitchen they are my work horses!!! Olives/greek herbs for garden! The kitchen ideas are endless!! Your feta logos would be great on kitchen aprons. Greek kitchen tools as well! I buy the plus size so I can wrap twuce and cover my whole body and it goes below my knees! Such great gifts!
Hi Dimitri!! Love your recipes! To help some of your followers, pastirma or Basterma is an Armenian food. I am Armenian and we enjoy Basterma usually at the holidays. This will help them find it easier in the Mediterranean stores!! I can’t wait to make this!! And yes, this is where pastrami comes from!!
That is a very unique recipe! Never ever seen it anywhere and its the first time Ive seen the pasturama. Ill try the greek/medeterranian shops. Virginia is limited.
Looks delicious but I have never seen this meat for sale anywhere and I shop international grocery stores, maybe the wrong ones! On line it is $30 or $40 per lb. What else can we use that may be similar?
Same here, I never came across Pastruma. It sounds almost like pastrami but I guess there are differences, right? I will try to find it but if not, would bresaola for instance work as a substitute?
lol! Omg!! I know that it’s a bit different: longer and fewer sheets. But, the pites that are made with it taste like the ones in Greece 🇬🇷😋 the number 4 yields a great pie; crisp and flaky. Use what you got and love!! That’s my motto 🤣💙
Pasturma or basturma. You can buy in mediterranean shops. I am Armenian and I buy in Armenian shops. I think it tastes better. You can buy it from Turkish stores too.
I made this tonight. Bottom of pie was a soupy mess. Took one slice out and sopped up all the juices from veggies on the bottom. Put it back in the oven in hopes it will dry out the rest of the pie, especially the bottom crust. If it does not, next time I will sauté tomatoes and peppers before putting in pie.

You deserve it I’ve been following you from the start 😊
My fave cook on Utube! thank u for your recipes Dimitroula.
Could you recommend any alternatives for the Pastruma?
I would guess Bresaola would be a good sub. It’s an Italian air cured beef that’s much easier to find.
I love all your recipes. New ideas, bring em on 🤗. Thank God for Wegman's. I get all the Greek cheese I need
I looooove Wegmans!!!!

I want that right now! Can you buy pasturma anywhere? If not, what can you replace it with... prosciutto?
Also would you buy it from the deli section or the meat section?
Any ideas on where to buy the pastotroma?
Pasturma is sold in Mediterranean or Middle Eastern markets.

Kasseri is used traditionally and feta this came from Asia Minor in Greece don't know from which region it is thanks for the recipe
Dimitra is prosciutto or bacon a good substitute for pasturma?
It’s very different in flavor but it will do. Pastrami would be the closest substitute/)
Can we add eggs?
If I were operating that camera, you'd see my hand slipping into view grabbing a slice!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

So it’s kinda like a pizza....in a way? 🤔
Yes, it tastes a lot like pizza in Greece. So good!
Dang I wish Phoenicia would partner with Shipt
Boy you’d be in trouble if you were Greek and didn’t like Phyllo!! Lol!
