- Growing up in Kansas City, Missouri, Samantha Fish developed a love for music at an early age. Starting out as a dummer, Samantha switched to guitar at age 15 and began discovering blues artists at Knuckleheads Saloon in Kansas City.
In this episode of The Songbook, Samantha discusses her approach to songwriting, favorite influences and performs the song "Dream Girl."

All of her albums are outstanding and amazing journey of great music. She writes complex songs they are not easy to sing. But so beautiful

I hope you are not playing on the weekend of the Dallas Guitar Show like last year, that’s a tough choice. Do I see Samantha Fish and her great band or do I see a 1959 Gibson Les Paul, more Les Paul’s, and some great 50’s and 60’s model Fender Strats ? LOL I hope to get to see you preform at your Samantha Fish Cigar Box Guitar Fest. You have really grown leaps and bounds and have some great music on the new album, it seems like you tour nonstop. Good old Knuckleheads. I've only been down once from Des Moines to see someone there but it has a great atmosphere. It would be great to see Samantha there.
Knucks is a awesome venue. All their stages are very intimate with the audience. Personally I think that she would need a little bigger venue that is still very intimate. She has a lot of fans in her home town of kc. I think starlight theater would be awesome.

Damn that was sweet
So is this evidence of formal Gibson endorsement...? Great video anyway. I saw her do War Pigs last year as the encore in Birmingham (UK version - birthplace of Black Sabbath) and it was one of those spine tingling moments. Some of her songs are raw power but this is one of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces she has written. Five star performance and great to see Gibson providing a platform for her.

Nah. I do it all the time, especially when it comes to Samantha
as much as I love Slayer, Dylan the Stones, the Dead... she is the coolest, smartest, most talented, HARDEST WORKING, I mean last year{2018} she played over 250 shows. Ive met her twice and she is awesome! she stays and talks/takes pictures with anybody who is in the line till they are all gone. her shows are as awesome as her band. Im 58 years old and she is , every day becoming, I think the BEST ALL AROUND MUSICIAN OF ALL TIME! ya ever seen her play war pigs! watch Samantha fish with trampled under foot/goin down slow wow what a video of a young Samantha in complete control of everything( watch drummer, he is in heaven). she writes, sings/fronts the band, only guitar player needed on stage, very business savvy , beautiful, honest, sweet and funny ALL IN HIGH HEELS!!! EVERY ALBUM (6 now) IS GREAT! turn your friends on to her! DREAM GIRL WITH A DREAM GUITAR, THANKS GIBSON, WONDERFUL VIDEO!
