The Life and Amazing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe (1972) Photo tests of actors

The novel was filmed many times, with the first silent film version dating back to 1913. We offer a film adaptation of the famous book, filmed in 1972 at the Odesa Film Studio by director Stanislav Govorukhin. This is the favorite book of the director, who later gave the viewer film adaptations of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn” and “The Children of Captain Grant.”
The plot of the film is familiar to all of us: after a shipwreck, the sailor Robinson Crusoe finds himself on a deserted island. He is the only one who survived; everyone else died. At the beginning he is overwhelmed by despair, but life goes on and he has no choice but to start settling down on the island; fortunately, some of the things from the ship that ran aground near the shore were saved. Incredible adventures and many challenges await him ahead.
"Robinson Crusoe" (1972) is significant for several reasons: it is not only an adaptation of a favorite story, but also proof of the directorial skills of Stanislav Govorukhin, the acting versatility of Leonid Kuravlev and the entire cast of the film. As you can see, completely different actors were tried out as the main characters, but Govorukhin stopped his creative search with Kuravlev’s candidacy. Although, the creative team was afraid whether the actor would be able to realize the director’s vision, where Robinson does not speak so often, but plays more with emotions and experiences. We think that the actor succeeded. This is evidenced by the popularity of the film among viewers.
Did you know that the on-screen Robinson speaks in the voice of actor Alexei Konsovsky? This is due to the fact that the image of a simpleton guy stuck to Kuravlev, because in order to get rid of the stereotyped perception of the hero, the director decided to change the voice of the main character. The film uses music from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, which blends seamlessly with wildlife and helps reveal aspects of loneliness.
