I'm so excited! I used your links and recommendations and ordered the adjustable temp soldering iron (on sale for Black Friday 🎉😁), the Silvergleem solder, both the Novacan flux and patina, and your Soldering Iron Jewelry book. It's a big upgrade in equipment for me! Thank you for all you are sharing and teaching! I'm looking forward to handmaking Christmas gifts this year, and all of this is going to help me to do that.🥰 Now that I'll have the adjustable temp soldering iron, I'll be able to try so many new techniques that weren't possible with my set temperature iron.
You should never have to do that. Your copper wire is probably: either coated with a thin coating of plastic, dirty and not shiny like a new penny (clean with steel wool) or perhaps not pure copper. I use regular copper wire, nothing special.
Sometimes you get CCA = copper coated aluminium. At least for cables it is cheaper than copper, but almost unsolderable and you need a thicker wire for electrial installation.
Thank you for a great video!!

Glad to hear it! Good luck, and have fun!
Which kind of copper wire are you using? my copper wire didn't accept the solder so I always have to wrap it in copper foil
