    How did God respond to our sin and descent into nothingness? He sent Jesus to rescue us all... so beautiful... no, you don’t belong to nothingness, you belong to me!!!

    this one message should be required listening by every person regularly enough it gets into all our craws.
    ... then augment it with many of his other talks. like John's revolutionary message, the cat's out of the bag especially part 3, and many others expounding on this.

    Interesting, but no Scripture! I'm not saying I disagree, but should we really use psychology to define our theology? I agree that the reason the Father sent His Son was because He loved us and wanted to redeem us. Nevertheless, it was God who "set the limits" of our freedom. It was He who said, "In the day you eat of it (the tree of the knowledge of good and evil) you will surely die." He cursed the man and the woman and Satan. But He did not stop there. God loved mankind so much that He wanted to protect them, but when they fell into sin (and under the curse), He provided a way out (Genesis 3:15). I will have to listen more, but it seems to me that C. Baxter Kruger, John Crowder and others want to deny that sin interferes with our relationship with God, and until we repent, we cannot be in a right relationship with God. Reconciliation (through the death of Christ) provides the forgiveness of sins (redemption) that restores that relationship. So why do we think this teaching of love is something new? Perhaps the modern church has forgotten this, but the orthodox church has always believed that God the Father is a God of love! Is this a rebuke of the holiness churches, the charismatic and Pentecostal churches, or the reformed churches? Who would he say is closest to the truth?
    C. Baxter Kruger says, God did not send His Son to save us from the wrath of God. But that is exactly what He did! The world is under a curse because of sin (Galatians 3:13). It is wrong to say that the problem of sin is not a legal problem, but an organic problem. It is both! It is both a legal problem and an organic problem. By solving the legal problem of our sinful flesh (by nailing it to the cross), he simultaneously crucifies the "old man" (solving the legal problem) and creates the "new man" within us (solving the organic problem). The new life we have enters our spirit. It changes us from the inside out. Throughout our life it transforms our soul. One day even our bodies will be redeemed by this same life.
    The law speaks ONLY to the old man. It creates fear. The old man (our flesh) does not want to obey God. The Law speaks to us and our flesh rebels against Him. The only way out is to reckon (a legal term) him as crucified and dead. Then, and ONLY THEN can we live in the new way of the Spirit as our spirit cries out, "Abba Father." C. Baxter Kruger and John Crowder do not want to acknowledge that sin remains a problem for the christian. As long as we live in "our body of sin and death" the law will condemn us. The solution to the problem of sin is to count the old man dead to sin because of Christ's death on the cross, and to count ourselves alive to God because of the resurrection (Romans 6). This salvation ONLY begins to work itself out in our experience, when we acknowledge that "It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me (Galatians 2:20).
    In conclusion, we cannot begin to live for Christ until we realize how Christ dealt with our "old man" on the cross. Only when we realize that we have been raised with Christ and He lives in us (the new man - our spirit), do we begin to live for Christ. It is both a legal problem as well as an organic one. Jesus solved the legal problem 2000 years ago. When we appropriate that by faith, we enter into the life He has for us. In other words, when the legal problem is solved, the organic problem is solved when we are given a new identity in Christ.

      It's not psychology. It's just what is: new covenant reality.

      Jeff Cunningham I believe he is speaking the same language. he's just seeing it from God's perspective of His original intent in creation.

    • @BjJonesMusic
      @BjJonesMusic 7 років тому

      Jeff Cunningham they are recognizing that the grace of God and the fellowship that we have been brought to through christ is what sets us free from the sinful nature. like, darkness is the absence of light. so you deal with darkness by growing in the Light.

    • @77goanywhere
      @77goanywhere 7 років тому +8

      Jeff Cunningham So God cursed them? Where does it say that in the Bible? What it says is that there IS a curse because of disobedience, not that God active cursed them.
      You seem to believe in a God that curses mankind then goes to a lot of trouble to undo his own curse! So it is God who must pay the penalty for the curse? How can a God of love curse anyone?
      There is a big difference between declaring that a curse exists and brings the one doing the cursing! Does a doctor cause cancer when he diagnoses it? No. And neither does God. And just as the doctor does his best to bring about a cure, so does God.
      God often declares "cursed are you when...." But that simply explains the source behind the action. In other words God is saying "you are cursed, and the evidence of that is...." Big difference to the idea that it is God who lays curses on people!
