I bought a couple of these recently and gave one to my son who’s a landscape gardener. He loves it. Here in the uk everyone is paranoid about knives being ‘threatening’, but no one could be scared of this. It’s a bright colour (blue in his case) so hard to lose, has great edge retention and has most of the capability of a larger knife.
I want 3 of these! Carving, ferro, firecraft, patch knife, small knife for very specific tight meat and animal processing caping, rust free with minimal care, lightweight, inexpensive, great grip, neck knife...it ain't a Garberg Carbon or Stainless, or a Finnish Pukku...don't ask me to spell that name..but it's a good knife
I have 4 Eldris. Two normal and two Light Duty and all in bright colors. You can buy a belt loop that will fit the Eldris, Kansbol and Garberg but the Eldris I just carry in my pocket or fanny pack. As someone mentioned the sheath you can put on the back of the knife making the handle longer. I have size L/XL hands and don't need that extension but it's also a good way not to loose the sheath by putting it on the ground somewhere. The tang goes basically all the way up to the lanyard hole so it's a relatively strong Mora and you can baton smaller wood. The Eldris falls into my category 'just in case' knives, great for hiking, backpacking and travel abroad. Most of all in a bright color it won't look offensive to the public, police officers, or customs officers alike. I have other small blade knives but the Eldris has the full thickness handle so it won't fatigue my hand in prolonged use.
Got this in red a few weeks back. What a fantastic little blade. Getting one for each of my three boys for Xmas AND a spare/second (in blue) for me, it really is that good. Bright colours are hard to loose so gotta love the blue over turf or carcass IMHO. Father Christmas never had it so easy (sorry Rudolf). BTW v v easy to sharpen to razor edge out of the box using a leather belt on the kitchen table. Not slipped out of the sheaf yet but I don't use as a neck knife so not really been tested. If neck was my thing I would probably get the secondary clip. I have had a Mora belt hung plastic sheaf split in the past, loosing a favourite blade as a result. This one fits great in the pocket so, for me, who cares. Reverse use of sheath to extend hold makes this little knife really good to handle in the cold. Get one (or more)...you won't regret it.
I’m not a big fan of the Mora Knives. But somehow I really like the Eldris. I have two, and plan to get a couple more. For me, they are dedicated fire-kit knives.
Sandvik 12c27 steel, killing pike in the summer when you don't want to wear pants/belt or when you ned a knife for a small task whilst in a river wearing waders
Really fan of Mora s.One of the best quality price knifes. As paracord crafter i bought the knife only and made myself a paracord neckless with the firestarter+ attached zipper whistle and keychain with firecord. :D
I’ve just ordered this knife. I am a bushcraft enthusiast and have several blades. Great video but I guess it’s all down to what you use the knife for? Same with axes and saws. Just got a mora 210 for wood carving, it’s got a Scandi grind but love it. My main outdoor is a Lars Fault by Casstrom. My pride and joy. However the Mora companion, however cheap is still a good old standby. Think it all comes down to what you expect from a knife?
The companion won't come out either, I carry mine upside down on one of the outside pack straps for quick access.. the plastic sheath the Mora uses is one of the best from the factory, least they don't depend on something like Kydex..
Say Heah, Yeah, I'm getting the Eldris, I'm also teaming it with the Kansbol and eventually It will be a combo with my Fox Bushcraft Parang. I used my Bushcraft Parang with my Frost Mora 840 Clipper MG all last weekend, I was totally impressed, I have the Mora 2000 but its part of my Mora Lite Trio, so yeah, The Kansbol and the Eldris as a neck knife will allow me to carry three knives very comfortably.,,.

If you put the eldris into the sheath handle-first, it will lock in place and double the length of the handle
Got the Morakniv Eldris Light Duty recently. Great knife, cheaper, and the blade more resembles a Mora Companion. GREAT knife.

I got a black one for work (Pretty much opening boxes). It works great also is every low key so people aren't trying to steal it or report me.

It makes an amazing skinner for white tail. I have used mine on 6-7 and it has always done amazing.
Thanks for sharing this. Are you using the regular or the light duty for skinning the deer?
@@ProveAllThings1Th-5-21 didn’t know that they were making two versions I got mine about a year after they came out so probably the regular one
