Awesome! These videos definitely have me wanting to give trolling a try this year 💪
Adam, always enjoy watching your videos. It was nice to run into you last weekend at Tahoe. Paul
Great video bro. Awesome fishing. 💪🏾💪🏾
Nice video and catches!! 😊
Nice catch Adam, glad to see you back after the halibut, bet you can't wait for the rockfish season to open back up? I bet your just itching to get some big lings again? It's been awhile.
Nice way to get the day started with a double, keep it Adam 🎣👍
Always finding fish. Im waiting to be taught. Good job man, another solid video.
Maybe if you experiment with the different swim bait size/brands/ scent it might get closer to the herring hooks. As the water warms up the swimbait might start to have better action in the water too. Im a believer in procure scent.
Make sure you have a Commercial Ocean Enhancement Stamp if you plan to do commercial on White seabass south of point Arguello (Sancta Barbara). This stamp costs 64 bucks.
Halibut wise ,technically taking more of the smaller overstock halibut and releasing the bigger breeder size would help the fishery the most but its a huge ask for commercials who are suffering as is with so many restrictions , license fees and operating costs.
Thanks for the heads up!
Caught your limit of hali + bonus striper! Non stop action, Adam!
I think those jets went over me up at Fort Bragg too...
Nice day on the water😊Thanks for the education 🙏
Really good day for , Got a question, planning to go out at oyster point with 12-15 mph winds on a small boat this Saturday, u think that advisable?
People buy striped bass too, you know. They make great tacos. I definitely would have picked up that 30" from you.
Throwing nice eating size striped bass back. In KY, White Bass and Striper are good table fare and we catch them in freshwater. I caught some in the Chesapeake Bay, when I lived in Philadelphia. I liked to smoke them in my smoker. Yusuf should try them.
Any chance i can get a boat launch of where this video is taken?? Got a small boat and just got myself a new 9.9 Outboard. Looking for some places to fish for halibut that i can get in and out fairly quick, just in case wind comes up and conditions become not so favorable. Thank you
Bagels sliced and toasted with butter is awesome. Yummy flavor choices too. I have to take issue with the title.... I don't know if you are "The WORST COMMERCIAL FISHERMAN in the History of Fishing"... but you are one of my very favorite UA-cam fisherman and I watch quite a few. Always enjoy your content. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures.
I appreciate the support! Thanks for supporting!
Where do you keep all the ice on that commercial vessel?
Man, I’m the same, I don’t keep every keeper I catch. Just enough for a meal. And yes I’ve lost fish after bleeding them out. It’s a dam shame.
Great Fishing Adam.
Knee driving with a bagel on the freeway...classic
Great day of fishing Adam!
Hey Adam...what size lamiglas is that? I have the 8'6" x11 ...you think thats too long for this type of trolling?
Dang good from a Yak.
Saw a commc'l fisher last week at Oyster Pr marina docks. He unloaded 17 butts from his 22' center console fishin' boat. Loaded up his fish in back of his pickup. Then shoveled ice from bin#2 to fish bin.
yeah but that guy you saw actually does depend on the fish for his livelihood.
I find it a bit contradictory for him to wax sympathetic for the fish stocks, when he's taking fish to sell that he repeatedly says he doesn't need to sell as he doesn't depend on it. So those people that buy his fish could've bought fish from someone who actually depends on the money.
And today, 4/28/2023, the same comm'l fisher caught 25 halibut for the market. Talked to him, he's a nice fella.
Awesome video!
You assured my question about the 2 rod in the bay.
Nice strip 2
We fish for them on the regular.
One of my favorite 4 sure
It was a pleasure to finally meet you in person today, was not happy that you kicked my *ss at the weigh in 😉 good job on your catch, at least I got bit by a Pro! Moshe
Nice fish! I miss the stripers! Down here in SoCal, we don't have them. I had some great striper days in SF Bay, off Pacifica, HMB, and up the Delta.
They're in the lakes.
@@tagamial stripers in the lakes in SoCal? What lakes?
@Mike Connor , Pyramid, Castaic, DVL, Skinner and the Aqueduct.
I enjoy your videos all your tips and information. Do you need a special license to commercial fish safe travels out there
Love your vids!! ❤️🤘🏻
Next year, lots of under size halibut, all the keepers are getting caught this year, just like 2008 salmon season closer, much pressure with all the party boats staying in the bay
Totally agree!
Adam, since you're not that fond of cream cheese on your bagels, have you ever tried salmon? I make a salmon salad with broiled salmon, liquid smoke, lemon, wasabi and a little mayo. Not as good as lox, or smoked salmon, but good on toasted bagels if you have fresh fish.
“Wonder if all the left sided halibut hangout together”🤣🤣
I have seen a big striper like that in years. I only caught 5lb like stripers in recent years.
what speed are you on when you are trolling on the autopilot?
Awesome job brotha. Have you looked into treating your commercial catch like they do for upscale/sushi markets? Brain spike, bleed, spine tap with wire, ice slurry? Better quality, better shelf life.
Always enjoy vids. You're the best commercial fisherman... from a yak!😂
I wish I could do the ice slurry on my kayak but I am limited on resources unfortunately
I do the ikejima but I'm still a little hesitant to eat raw without freezing...
@@chrisw1339 I'd still freeze the fish if you're planning to sashimi it. Cooking/acid preparations I think is fine.
@@threengcircus 👍
Do you ever have any bigger fish or seals try to eat the fish when you have them on the stringer floating behind you?
Lol that’s what I was wondering too. You know other creatures can smell that bleeding fish, some frok miles away. I’d 💩my pants if I looked back and seen that I had a shark coming at me for the fish I have dragging behind me.
Giving me the itch to get back out there!
Killed it on the fishing. That striper though, huge. Never seen one that big from that spot. Best fish of the video.
Lol I catch striper from the bank all the time in alameda they usually always in that range to like 15 inch to 24 inch.
Just curious how fresh they are just hanging in water no ice?
You're my favorite commercial fisherman. Maybe one day I'll be able to make the 2 hour drive to get a halibut from you.
Herring has scent; Just add some scent to your swim bait
Why didn't you keep the striper to sell , is there a market?
I love my lamiglass x11 too
What’s your set up ?
That fish will survive, I've seen worse... you can try a using a speargun used for diving with a break away tip and that gaf can go in the trash.
I wish more fisherman were like you regarding the commercial take, some are really bad, keep the videos coming
Where I live in Delaware we call call Stripers, Rockfish, and we love eating them.
Yeah idk if they truly resemble rockfish though
Bagels are to healthy. Doughnuts , pepperoni stick and a Pepsi breakfast of champions for fisherman
What reel is that??
I love a poppy seed bagel with butter. Second choice is cinnamon raisin with butter. And I enjoy your channel. 😊
Both great choices!
Is that true even if you pay for the second rod stamp
Love your channel here on the east coast. So, how about you just drive. So we can keep enjoying your content.
How many rods in the water can you have when fishing for California halibut?
depends on where you are!
Nice fishing 🎣 wish I was there never fished the sea
Looks like the fishing is picking up a bit.
What size swim bait is that 6”?
I'm not 100% sure but I would guess its closer to 4.5"
Another bare handed grab! What a boss!
can't believe u let that go
Adam where are you fishing at in California. My friend wants to get into that, I told him I don't think you can make a living doing that. Am I wrong? He wants to buy a Kayak and do exactly what your doing. He wants to fish out of Oxnard CA
Fresh shrimp from Florida for me tonight. I had to peal and devein them but they were yummy grilled.
Sounds good!
Cream cheese is over rated and no one can ever change my mind. 😂
Blueberry bagels are where it's at.
2 years ago same thing 4 me. Mine was a good 32” or so… gaffed him… pulled him outta da water… and he went berserk. Flipped off the gaff?!?! That’s fishing 🎣
Yep, we will get the next one!
Not commercial. Do you have a market to buy your fish? How much per LB do you get? Thinking about selling my boat and buying a kayak.
GOTTA GET THE LOX W BAGEL... IS THE BEEZNEEZ
make a video sharpening the gaff
I agree brother
What rod is that with the lexa?
I understand not burning spots but, not revealing what rod and reel your using. Too secretive. Why post and not say what your using. Subscribers subscribe to get tips right?
I’m not criticizing you K.
I want to use two rods in the bay.
We received a ticket long time ago.
Is it ok to have two rod ???
You are not driving a Tesla. Keep your hands on the wheel 😂
Literally catching fish left and right 😆
I hate losing a fish and knowing its chances are not good. Nothing goes to waste in nature though. Some predator or scavenger will get it and the crabs will get the rest.
I once tried releasing a trout who just struggled and kept going belly up. After struggling about 20 feet out in the pond, a bald eagle came down and swooped it up. I was shocked and relieved at the same moment. Haha
@@Division4oh yea. Even if other fish don’t get it some other animal usually will. Very little goes to waste in nature.
Cool video and concept for fishing but generally commercial fishermen operate from a boat. I’d be too worried about tipping over out there in that kayak. Have you ever lost any that you caught and were towing behind you? I’d think with a wounded fish being dragged behind you that it would attract other fish to feed off it. Do y’all have dog fish over there?
Never mind on the dug fish question. I didn’t realize you were in California.
Bro, STOP DRIVING AND FILMING! Hands on the wheel!
put your damn hands on the steering wheel....sheesh
everything bagel with jalapeno cream cheese all day
Ya or eat before ya go. Definitely need something
The smaller halibuts are better because they don't have as many parasites.
And less time in the pollution of the bay and delta
What was with no hands on the wheel? Are you using a self-driving car?
And you need a checklist that includes all the things you need to bring, including BAIT. But you are WAY FUN to watch!
"What is up with these halibut".... Ummm, dear fisherman, I just had a gaff jammed through my body. If you don't know, one just might wiggle frantically in discomfort.
lots of halibut get stunned/stop moving when they’re gaffed though, unless ur netting them they don’t squirm too much
Adam, great new content, have a question, sport fish like strippers, can you gaff them in the bay if there legal limit ?
I'm not sure! I would double check with DFG.
I love bagels with butter.😃💯👍 . Or you can make a breakfast sandwich with your bagel
Everything bagel or blueberry with cream cheese
Gotta have the pizza bagels!!
oooo game changer!
Great day of fishing.
Nets are bigger but when fish is inside...no worries
Another great day of fishing. Do you really want to trade in your kayak for a trawler?
Definitely not!
Why did you cut out the part when the fish got off the line? The video cut from the fish shaking the gaff to a slack line. What happened? 😉🤐
It’s an insult to bagels everywhere
😬
I beg to differ
Just curious why you bother with the gaff? You still have to bring the fish close to the yak, and I feel like netting fish would be easier and more beneficial. Specially in this case.
I personally think gaffing the fish is easier than using a net, but I recommend using whatever you have the most confidence in!
Loxs and Asiago bagel
Solid choice!
Healthy? Sure, just like apple fritters. Too bad about the lost fish. Maybe shorten up your gaff handle? That's a long lever. Tight lines
eyes on the road. hands on the wheel. give the driving/filming bullshit a break
I understand that you can’t fish near all the amateur fishermen now where you have a commercial license😂😂.
You should sell the stripers.
You redeemed yourself with the cinnamon sugar bagel 😂 Toasted with cream cheese it’s actually super 🔥
Its fire!!!
Trolling is lazy fishing.
👍👍👍👍👍
You need an SUV or a truck my man lol
I couldn't agree more!
Yeah I'm learning that if you simply say the words "swim bait" all of a sudden you're on with a striper! Thankfully they taste great!👍
I figured that those stripers looked like food. But not good enough? Why'd he throw them back?
I'm 21:15 into this video and stopping to tell you I don't understand in anyway shape or form why you titled the video the way you did. Maybe something will happen in the next four minutes....?
Ok. Just finished the whole video. Nope, you're just as awesome as I thought you were. Keep it up, Adam.
Appreciate the kind words!
