Sorry you have to wait so long for it. The shipping is just one major screw-up. Not going to do the brand any favours. I don't think anyone is going to rush out and pre-order whatever new IEM they come up with now
@@AndyAudioVault Hi Andy, I have pre-ordered the Deuce. Many users have commented that the Deuce does not drive well with dongles, even the Alpha and RU7. Can you recommend any powerful dongles?
@@SoundmeowAudio I am curious if you had a chance to spend more time with the onix and the deuce? only reason i ask is because in the comments before you said you didn't like it so much, and I am looking for a powerful portable DAC under $120.
@@bobsmith3130 yes I did. Listening to it now with the Onix! I probably should have been more clear but what I wanted to say was that the Deuce scales up very well with more power. Less powerful dongles still work fine with it but you're just not getting the optimal performance out of it, which is true for most power hungry IEMs. The Onix has more than enough power for the Deuce. Volume-wise I use 45 out of 100(?). Soundstaging is good, treble clarity is excellent with the sharp roll off filter and the bass has the Onix character - deep and spacious, not much definition and a bit bloomy but it doesn't muddy the mids. Note that I'm using Divinus Velvet wide bore tips which might actually add more bass. I mentioned that I didn't like it as much because I was comparing it with a desktop dac/amp and the iBasso DC-Elite so yeah those are a bit more expensive
For a second I thought the thumbnail showed a cat with a medical device on it like it was on an operating table. Nurse - Doctor the patients ph levels are too high!! Doctor - Get this cat more BASS immediately!!
Hi Ben, do you think a BTR15 or Onix Alpha be enough to hear what this iem is capable of without compromise? If not, what dac/amp would take this to the next step?
@@shareclipsave I haven't paired it with the BTR15 but the Onix Alpha can do the job. Next step up I think the KA17 might be good but I'll have to confirm it since it isn't neutral and adds energy. When I talk about scaling up what it does is firm up the bass, improve separation, layering and soundstage. The Onix does a pretty good job already
saw your post on the facebook group, was gonna watch it later, but then it disappeared... I'm glad i briefly remembered your username had meow and was able to find your video through youtube. but even on youtube i had trouble finding it without filtering it to past week.. anyways here's a comment and like to help other people find your video. Looking at photos of the tips given, they look kinda meh to me and i'm actually considering using one of my favourites on it, which is the Final Audio Type E tip. Hope they'll fit because i heard they made the nozzle lip thick intentionally from Bloom Audio's interview with fatfreq)
Thanks for the support! As a new channel with few subscribers and engagement UA-cam doesn't make it easy for my video to be found so thank you for going out of your way to find it. The nozzle lips top the scale a bit and I'm wondering why Fatfreq didn't provide easier to fit tips since they're aware it's huge. I'm very curious to hear how the limited edition red tips sound since they came with my set but after more than 30 mins trying to fit 1 in, maybe the ROI isn't there. LOL Good luck with the Final Audio tips! Hope they fit
@@SoundmeowAudio forgot to update you but i received my Deuce and was able to fit the Type E on it, although with a brand new tip it needed abit of stretch so i ended up using a older pair of tips so that I dont stretch out a new one and it fitted on easily. Atm i personally prefer the Type E over the stock Tri Claron as it gives the bass a larger size, making it less analytical and abit more fun.
@@mkalok1307 to elaborate a bit, the Onix gives it a higher soundstage but not wide. For more busy productions it might sound a bit cluttered. Still listenable though. With the adapter the sound becomes L shaped. Mids and treble are reduced and there's a bit of bloom to the bass. The FC6 works well with the Deuce. Bass is nicely controlled and mids have a slightly analog sound on it. I'd say the texture on vocals are more noticeable on the FC6. Soundstage is slightly wider than the Onix though not as high.
@@SoundmeowAudio @SoundmeowAudio Thank you. Is the FC6 drive better than the Alpha? That's really interesting. The Alpha has 500mW, while the FC6 only has 100mW with a 3.5mm port, so that surprises me. Can the FC6 drive well with the adapter?
@@mkalok1307 Yeah it is. For both dongles my volume is set at around 50%. So IIRC around 46 for the Alpha and 17 for the FC6. On the FC6 the adapter is quite boomy, so I don't recommend it.
A comment for the algorithm. Gg man, appreciate the review. Imo could be beneficial to show off the product more, as people might find some answers looking at various angles that differ from official imagery.
This is not special or a value. You had to wait three months for it and you cannot return it. It’s OK, but it comes with a little cloth case that can’t zip up with the giant cable and IEM. Why did they even bother? to me? The whole thing is a bust
The sound is hardly perfect. The Deuce had bass congestion on The Wheel, Sit Next to Me (stereotypes mix), Walk Across the Water. Songs without a ton of bass like Nightswimming don’t fair too well. Those could be exceptions, but I didn’t like the way it played us and them by Pink Floyd. It also can’t take higher your volume so well, at least running off heavy R6 III. I was burned again by a bad boy.
