  • In this video the starter motor is replaced on a 4th generation Nissan Maxima. It was making an abnormal noise and had a weak crank even though the battery was fully charged. We go through the steps necessary to get the job done that most any DIY'er can do. Thank you for stopping by the Ozzstar's Cars channel. -Glen

Way to go Glen on the starter inspection and replacement. It was "Hammer Time" on the old one for sure.

Thanks for the lesson, people were telling me that it was a bear to do but I have always done my own repairs except for rebuilding trans..YUTUBE and people like you have shure made car repairs easier. Mine is the starter solenoid some times doesn't want to engage the starter just gives a slite click like a relay. Thanks again for your how too.

You are welcome Steve. Other than that one bolt that is factory tight as cryptonite it's not a hard job. Good luck with the fix!

Good to see you working with your son to teach him some mechanical skills! Like most teenagers at the end of a job, they're off and gone. Have a good one Glen!

@@ozzstars_cars All is good Glen, but I’ve been busy for the last few weeks. The neighbor’s RAV4 alarm was constantly going off. He wanted to remove an aftermarket alarm, but his mechanic wouldn’t touch it. So, I removed the system for him and made him happy. Cleaned the outside of the house. Cleaned the deck and will stain today. Tailgate on truck won’t open. Stepson’s 4Runner has a small evap leak and wants me to help him with it. And next week I have to help him change out his service panel. It’s always something. Take care Glen! 😊

Replacing with brand new part is the right thing to do if it's starter or alternator. When i first started working on my cars i was into rebuilding them, but sooner or later , the thing must be taken off again and some other part needed to be changed.. Nice one man. Small channel but interesting videos always 🍺

I have never worked on a starter that wasn't underbody, very cool design. I believe Ryan is 17-18 so that puts you at 37-38 right 👍

Yes Ryan is 17 now and I wish I was still in my late 30's. 😃 At least I'm wiser nowadays. haha Take care Steve
