Welcome, so happy that my video helped but you did all the work. Good job man. Yes, your thinking makes sense, buy new tools to do the job. Besides, if family or friend needs their starter replaced, you can do it and get paid back for the tools you bought. Thank you for subscribing. Have a nice day.
I want to thank you as well. It gave me an idea how much effort and which tools would be needed. I had someone willing to do the job for $80. Based on this, I paid the cash. But, now I know if I had some more time and the right tools I can do it.
I wanted to take a second and thank you so much for this video. You saved me over 300 dollars by purchasing the starter and using this video to do the work myself! Thank you so much for this great step by step video!
Dude! You are the MAN! Best video tutorial ever, I respect the fact that you dont sit there and talk the whole time giving your opinions blah blah, you clearly show what needs to be done, what needs to be used to do it, and get it done. Keep up the good work, appreciate you, the Maxima is running lovely now.
i just want to say... " thank you so much for this video " saved me on a 175$ tow......got a starter amd changed it myself..my maxima started right away!!!
Yeah... this is me tomorrow, but thanks for taking the mystery out of the process. I could not even find the darn thing. Where I live this would be at least a $400 job - taxes in. As for the video, great job! Forget the gab, forget the music, just give us the goods.
Folks THIS is how a "howto" video should be done. No extraneous yakkin for 10 minutes before starting. No this dude does not mess around. Point at part. Unscrew Part. Remove Part. Next. Is this effective you ask? When a person with ZERO experience working on cars (hell, I've never changed my oil myself before) can follow this video and be successful FIRST try, I would say that it couldn't be MORE effective. Kudo's to the aptly named Fix It Angel, please know that your video helped at least one person scrapped for cash do a fairly complex install all by himself. I cant begin to tell you the satisfaction of sitting in the car and turning the key and hearing that baby crank the very first time. Amazing, thank you for the help.
Thank you Jim for taking the time to write your comment. I am so very happy this video helped guide you. If this video just helped one person in this world then this video has done it's purpose. You have a nice day and please like and subscribe. Thank You
Thanks for the video, saved me from paying for a tow truck and service man. Video has all the details someone needs except how to get the stupid connectors off. Took half my time messing with them. Overall I think it took an hour.
Thanks I was half way there on my own and got stuck. I watched your video and learned what I needed to finish the job. You made it quite easy for a carpenter to become a mechanic. Thanks again
my girlfriend's car motor died recently and i'm not a mechanic but thanks to your vid i was able to pull the sucker out in 45 minutes after having the required tools. thanks very much man!!
Welcome!! thats great you understood the video that is straight to the point. I get haters saying I don't talk. Well, it's simple, just follow the video. Funny how I get critics out there and all they can do is complain. I always tell them, you don't need to watch my video, better yet, make your video. LOL. At least the video will help a few people that are fast to understand what is going on. Have a nice day man. Please subscribe
If you got the same car and a good set of tools your video will make a lot of sense without talking. I liked a lot how you zoomed in at the several components that needed to be removed. It's a simple and straight to the point video, thanks one more time!
Thanks a bunch for posting the video. It helped me do the job on my own. It took me about 3 hours total, but that's because I have little experience and had a lot of difficulty with one of the connectors. It saved me a good deal of money though and gave me the satisfaction of fixing my car by myself. So, thanks again!
Totally mezmerized by your style. I love how you just point at What you're about to do. Way better than every other UA-camr. Right to the point and easy to figure out. Most people talk so much that they actually confuse you or give you anxiety over what you're doing. Keep up the great work.
Hi Frek Disco, Thank you for the comment. I really appreciate. Many say "how to" videos should be like this. I too get tired of other videos out there, the blah blah blah, get to the point already!! That is why I do my videos like this. I don't like wasting time. Have a nice day.
Brilliant...by not talking you were forced to illustrate and point directly and perfectly to every step, screw, connection and bolt. You are on to something Sir! Talk rarely fixed anything!
Thanks for the video! I've changed a lot of rear wheel drive starters but this was my first front wheel drive. Frankly I didn't even know where to look. This was a big big help!
I love the silent movie lmao its comical to me😂 And how you tap on all the nuts and bolts. I kinda wish you'd scrap a knuckle just to hear you squill a lil hahaha! You make it look easy thanks😁
Thank you. Trust me there was some pain doing this. LOL I just edit it out. Yes it looks easy because I have the right tools. If you have the right tools it would be much easier. Thank you for watching. Have a nice day.
Great video! I do have a suggestion though, where you take the last hose off which is part of the air intake, it seems as though you just tug it off with one hand. A bit misleading. I tuged with all my strength and it would not budge. I had to pry it slowly with a flathead before the hose separated from the metal part. Other than that, great video and thanks.
Welcome, Sorry that a shop did a poor job. It's great that you just do it yourself with a help of my video. It's sad some shops rip off people and do bad jobs. Good luck and if you need any answers don't hesitate to ask. Please subscribe and have a nice day.
AWESOME video it did help out alot !!! If anyone wants to do the job on there own this the video to watch! i just did it today and it was not sweat Thanks BRAH 88bmyvegas
Awesome, I just started removal of the starter on my 2000 Maxima and got stuck trying to get to the 17mm bolt. Watching this I see I still need to remove some of the ducting and that wire conduit, then I think I'll have this thing down! Too bad it got dark and I haven't got a good light. Will have to get back to it tomorrow.
Absolutely love you video format and style. I just wish the wiring clips and hoses would come apart as easily as in the video. I learned the hard way that all I-30 and Maxima starters do not have the same number of gear teeth. A trip back to the parts store got me a match for my car.
Thanks for the video. Really good job. The only problem I got was getting to the starter upper bolt (the 14mm). I had to take the metal plate on top it because even using the same tools you were, I couldn't get it. Other than that It was an easy walk on the park
Did my starter replacement today per your video - straightforward enough and well done! My biggest hang-ups were getting the green sensor clips off - burnt a lot of time on those. Push in lever and press down HARD is the trick. A couple other connectors were a pain too - a small sharp blade chisel did the job better than a small blade screwdriver in order to bend back the tab to remove the connector. Once the starter was in clear view, all 3 air intake boxes removed, it was a piece of cake after removing the 17mm and 14mm bolts - came prepared with cheater bar for leverage as there's not a lot of fulcrum room. 2 hours to tear down for a first timer. Installation and reassembly was 30 minutes. One question - at 5:11 in the video - (right when the phone rings) you are removing a smaller bolt - what is that? I didn't have to deal w/ that and wasn't sure why you had to remove it. Great vid - thanks for your help. Saved me some labor dollars.
Hello, Thank You for your comment. I really appreciate it. That bolt I removed is for a small bracket holding that cable, it's just to give me more space to remove the starter. Please subscribe and have a nice day.
I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima 3.5. There are 2 cables to the starter. One has a round hole and the other is horse shoe shape. Which one goes where? Awesome video. Thanks so much.
Starter can also be removed from the underside with only a small splash plate in the way but seeing the bolts is challenging. The other way is equally effective
Is this the same procedure for an Infinity I 30? I know Nissan and Infinity are basically the same but would like to make sure before I tackle this myself. Good video as well!
Thank you, I really appreciate your comment. Great you understood what I was doing. There are people that complain that I do not speak on my other videos. I don't understand, they just need to follow and do what is shown. It is very difficult to record, talk and replace the part with one hand, believe me I tried. In a car manual, you have to read and comprehend what was written and sometimes that is difficult for some. Anyway, please subscribe and have a nice day.
Be careful on the reinstall that you do not pinch a wire that runs by the starter. I didn't see, it and ended up pinching it. It grounded, blew fuse to computer and would not start. Had to splice wires back together and replace fuse. Just a tip.
I just did my 2003 Nissan Maxima starter with the 3.5 L engine. It is basically the same. I pulled the whole air box assembly out in one piece rather than two. Neighbor asked me to change his starter.
This is the most informative video, yet! Thank you.
I watched this, repeated it, couple hours later had my starter in and car running. Thank you. Next time though, maybe cut out all the chit-chat :)
Welcome and thank you for the comment. Sorry all my talking bothered you. Have a nice day and please subscribe. :)
You saved my life man!! It's always better to put money into buying new tools rather than paying someone else to do the job. Subscribed

Great video!!! Im a woman who knows nothing much about cars and i did it all by myself :)
You are AWESOME Amy!! Thank you and Please subscribe.
U just encouraged me. Thanks

Welcome!! Thank you. I will try and keep on trying for people like you that appreciate my videos. Have a nice day.
Took me 30 minutes to fix myself saved me 100$ watching this video 👍

This is the best DIY video EVER!!! I had my starter pull out in about 30 minutes.. Thanks so much for posting this!!!
Thanks for making this video. I saved about $350 by doing the replacement myself on a 2000 GXE. Every step to get to the starter was well documented.
Michael Holland Welcome!! Awesome you did it yourself!! Good job man!! Please subscribe and have a nice day.

Thanks for the video! I've changed a lot of rear wheel drive starters but this was my first front wheel drive. Frankly I didn't even know where to look. This was a big big help!

Thanks for the video! Took me about 20 min in all to replace. This was a life saver!

good video...
Thank you very much for your video. I am almost done but now I'm stuck and I can't find the way to figure it out :/
whats wrong?

sipock97 tip is very much appreciated. Thank you
I know right?? My annoying voice is too much. Thank you. Please subscribe and have a nice day.
The way he's tapping everything it's like he's trying to make sure it's ripe....
Btw I just subscribed!
$100 says impossible to do from the bottom. I'll be waiting for that video.
no space to even get to the starter if you do it under the car.
welcome, please subscribe.
I have a 2003 i35 which should be the same configuration and installation as this, correct?
Hello, I looked at the manual for your car, looks almost the same as this video but not for sure.
I just did my 2003 Nissan Maxima starter with the 3.5 L engine. It is basically the same. I pulled the whole air box assembly out in one piece rather than two. I used a short 14 mm socket with a 1 1/2" extension for the top bolt and short 17 mm socket with a 4" extension on the bottom starter bolt. The 14 mm bolt has a cable mount obstructing it. I pulled the cable out of its mount for more room and I was able to get it out with the short extension combo mentioned above. The 17 mm bolt is in there very tight if it is the factory starter. Use a long handled ratchet and make sure it is on there good! Thank you 88BmyVegas for the video!!!
welcome and please subscribe
How do you remove the connector at 3.38?
same for the gle as well?
One thing I subject is to show the tools needed first to do the entire Job.
