Like I said before, a 357 magnum revolver is a great do-it-all weapon. With 7 or 8 chambers in modern revolvers, it gives you the same capacity as a 1911, more than enough to deal with 95% of self-defense situations (practicing with speed loaders will make it about 100%). It also allows you to hunt and protect yourself from pretty much any wild animal in the USA. I'd shoot at a moose with buffalo bore with confidence. Grizzly's not so much, but I don't doubt the 357 magnum at the higher end of the power spectrum can kill grizzly bears.
I just got a 10mm 1911 on layaway recently. I'm excited to get it paid off and to try it. I never thought a semi-automatic round would ever exceed a 357 magnum, but 10mm can do it.

I agree these modern B.B. and underwood loads are wild and close to 900 lbs of energy pushing 180's, What 10mm did you buy. I bought a Kimber 10mm I'll post the review link below. I also just found some 10mm B. Bore the energies are close to 800 lbs but not there I'm gonna make a .357 vs 10mm video I'll also review that ammo.

This is my whitetail deer round. My state requires 700+ lbs/ft and 6" barrel for hunting big game with a handgun. These rounds "on paper" do 797 lbs/ft but through a chronograph with my 1981 Taurus 66 (same as S&W 66 with interchangeable parts), it works out to over 820 lbs/ft. Expansion is mediocre due to hard lead, but it drops deer in their tracks.

My EDC is a G23 with a Lone Wolf .357 Sig barrel in it. 125 grains at 1500fps will get the job done against mostly anything up to 300-400 lbs...not sure how it would perform against an Alaskan Grizzly and have zero intention of finding out.

Late to the party but since I started researching a good round to carry with my 308 scout rifle that spits 180gr bullets I started looking into 357 180gr. 357 will beat 10mm at all levels when both are loaded with serious heavy loads. Throw in the Ruger Redhawk with 8 shots of 357 and you are slugging it out with a 10mm for sure. That 10mm will sling some lead like nobody's business no doubt but the reliability of a revolver with a trained shooter wins in my book.
