Super cool dude! You rock! When I was young, nobody told me that I had to practice and I simply thought that I didn't have very good balance. Now I am practicing and I can finally wheelie pretty dang good but I am 58 years old! So by the time I am 60 I will be excellent! Life is good bro!
"When you were younger!" How dare you... I am 45 and I still can't nail a good wheelie! 🙈 Total respect mate... Today I try this your way. Best wishes from an Englishman in France, your energy is infectious!!! 👍🏆🇬🇧
Only just got into this lark and I'm older than you . Starting to get into about 10s of keeping it up. I've used to be into BMX MTB but I'm too old for smashing myself up now but still want a bit of fun on a bit. Wheelies it is.
I finally have the basics to wheeling but if you are having trouble just make sure to get your weight back that and a hard pedal will get the wheel up watch this and @VanCan video because they teach a lot just getting the front wheel up took me like two months but focus on your timing (pedal when you explode backwards) and you can get it, then simply keep your weight back and pedal. Keep at it and keep practicing and you will get it. God loves you guys and Jesus died for all of our sins. God Bless!
He is definitely right on the weight i am getting the 2021 Maniacc flyer soon but in the mean time ive been wheeling a mongoose dolomite fat tire bike that weighs about 65 pounds and no brakes, Ive ridden my friends scott mtb and i can fall back, tap the brake and come back down and im pretty new at this, Lawton, your such an inspiration like you said in your 1 year progression, i want to inspire other kids to ride bikes, i ride bikes because of you and i love it, thamks for everything Lawton, have a good day. The bike has 6.0 tires
Yo u need to come out to California. Ik it’s super far away but maybe once u hit 100k. Been watching your videos since 20k. Love your content. It would be great to ride with u.
Hey Lawton. Thank you so much for this video because it is way more helpful than all the other wheelie videos cause all they say is kick up with dominant foot. I have a BMX bike 22" inch and Ican wheelie and do like 4-5 pedals but i want to improve.I am getting a blocks Flyer or a Maniacc Flyer.
I started off not being able to even pop the wheels up and I started to watch your videos from back when you rode your so cal. Oh and I was going to ask about riding with you in Nashville but I had other stuff come up so yeah. Thanks
Imagine Lawton posted daily i love your videos lawton im probably getting a blocks flyer for Christmas but right now i wheelie a diomdback hook mountain bike
What should I do when I can’t keep a straight wheelie. I’ll pop it up, wheelie for like 3 seconds, then either lean to right or left causing the wheelie to end. What should I do?
(ADVANCED METHOD) Hey guys, another option for pulling up the bike. If you guys keep getting calluses, (making your skin flap, or cutting skin) then you can use the method that I use which is to pull up the bike without holding on to the brakes with a finger, and it works. I also Doing that also helps you learn how hard you need to pedal to get it to your balance point. A con with this method is that it’s easier to loop, I’ve learned how to put my finger on the break fast, but if you really end up putting a lot of force into it and it loops, either switch methods, or apply less pressure on the pedal. I also recommend getting gloves if the problem persists. Anyways, cheers!
i have just started to learn how to wheeli and my hands are getting blisters on them so i reperpsed some gloves that i had and its working alot better and by i just started i am like 3 days in its going great i would love to be able to do this stuff instantly but its also fun learning it to
@@llyrB8You’re pulling harder on one side of the bars than the other. How do I know bcz I was doing the same exact thing 😂. I’m betting you’re pulling harder on your dominate leg side as you bring it up (I was) causing you to drift more to the opposite side off balance. I started consciously pulling more with my left arm (I raise it up with my right leg pushing) and viola.
one tip for people when you get up into it don't look down at the front wheel or fork it'll bring your front wheel down straight away i learnt this by getting so frustrated that i couldn't keep my wheel up so if you're in a large area lock your eyes onto something 10-20 ft away and keep them on it. also pls pin this so people see it
Hey bro u might remember me asking about what bike to get, depending on what is available im going for a dblicks big ripper or a big flyer, u have inspired me and have got good at mtb wheelies
I am pushing my foot down on the peddle pulling up and going pack and pedaling and it just is not working can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong sometimes I’ll get it up but then I pedal and it just goes back down can someone please help me
@James Rodriguez don’t over do it, if you overcomplicate pressing the back brake it will always fall, so be simple, and press it when you absolutely need it
When i first started i just had a coaster brake bike and i can hold the wheelie down my block. also, another way to pull up the bike is to raise the seat up about half way and then u can pull it up while sitting down
I just got a haro bike and it’s a wheelie bike, I used to know how to wheelie on a mountain bike but this haro wheelie bike is way heavier and I am learning slowly but this helped
yo lawton, i have been following you since like 5 years back and i think your dope, but i changed my forks on my mtb and now i cant balance, i dont know if its because they´re a little bit smaller or if im not used to them but before i have been wheeling rly far but now i cant even go like 10 meters without falling to the side, can you help me? if its because they are smaller or what it is, but they are rockshox so there a lot better and softer, like i can go all the way down but i cant balance anymore:( im just falling to the side everytime, should i just changed back to the old standard trek (qsp) forks or should i keep grinding? sry for the long comment👍👍

I ride a hero steel reserve 1.3 and I practice everyday to wheelie and sometimes I can do like 5 pedals but I think my hand is still a little to small to get good grip on the brake
