The explanation of each setting you gave is amazing! definitely sold it to me and your channel definitely deserves more attention!
Thank you so much, this one made me smile for real!
Fantastic tutorial, please keep making more of these. I was glad to discover your channel 😊
Thank you so much! Hoping to make more soon!
Nice tutorial!! Really digging this film look 😍
Thank you! I’ve heard some good things about track club recently, I’ll have to check y’all out!
Hola, great video. Thanks.
FYI about Pushing/Pulling film from an old fart who used to shoot film.
Pushing meant intentionally underexposing the film by one or two stops then telling the lab it was Pushed +1 or +2. They'd lengthen the time in the developer to pull details out of the shadow areas.
The opposite, Pulling, meant you overexposed the film by one or two stops and telling the lab it was Pulled +1 or +2. Then they'd shorten the development time accordingly to hold the highlights.
Beautiful colors!
Thank you!!

Great video! If I purchase a lifetime license to dehancer for Davinci, do you know if that includes the app or do I need to buy that separately?
Thank you so much! Do you mean the iPhone app? I believe that’s a separate payment but I could be mistaken!
@@DustinHarrelson Yeah! You'd think that if you purchased the $450 license for Davinci, you wouldn't have to also purchase the $400 iphone app separately. I'd love to be able to use both, but not at that price.
Awesome video Justin, thank you for sharing your point of view on Dehancer 😊
Our Team is here, please feel free to ask any questions below this comment
Thank you! Super excited to explore more film emulations and the rest of the tools more in depth!
@Dehanser What should my my colour management settings be? I'm using YRGB with Davincie Wide Gamut and Rec709 2.4 is this right?
@nommiezorba I read through a pdf from Dehnacer’s website the other day bc I was wondering the same thing and it said to use DvrWG/Intermediate. Go to the Help tab and then check the Davinci quick setup PDF they have just to be sure tho!
@DustinHarrelson Thank you so much for your reply! I will do that.
@@seasideshutterworx Hey! We suggest interpreting your source material in Rec.709 for further processing with Dehancer. But we have a lot of info on our blog, feel free to read up on that a bit more :)
Nice in depth use of Dehancer. Thank you for your work. I thought the same about the grain and also the halation settings in this tool. I thought tthose needed a preset where you could choose the film and they included it in the new 7 update. Now you can select the type of film (8mm, 16mm, 35mm, etc) for both film grain and halation
Thank you! And oh dope I need to update and check that out!
Can they be used with the free version of Da Vinci Resolve?
Unreal work man. That final grade looks so good. I think it's about time I bought dehancer... ahaha
Thank you!! I use it all the time and like it a lot!
Thanks this was awesome
great video!
Thank you so much!
Dustin I do have a simple question to you. I’m a newbie and I noticed that so many colorist always push the colours in opposite ways, like you did it in this tutorial. When in the lift you pushed towards pink in gamma you did pushed in opposite way to green. Please explain why you did like that ? Thank you in advance 😊
Hey! I still have a lot to learn about color grading but my reason for doing that is to create color contrast. Green and pink are opposite on the color wheel therefore called “complimentary colors” bc they compliment eachother. So pushing one into the lift and one into the gamma can make the image more interesting from a color standpoint at least
@@DustinHarrelson Thank you so much for your reply 😊
Great video
Thank you!

I thought that in the manual PDF Dehancer recommends having their plugin placed after the CST 🤔 Nice video :)
Im just confusing about Film and Film print inside Dehancer ?
very helpful
Very good tutorial. What was your color management settings?
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I was using Davinci YRGB, Rec 709 Gamma 2.4.
But I switched to Cullen Kelly’s recommended settings of using Davinci YRGB Color Managed, Davinci Wide Gamut and Rec 709 Gamma 2.4 about a month ago.
Is it accurate when using hlg picture profile?
I’ve never used hlg but the plug-in does have an option for it, you can select by camera and picture profile used so it should be the same or similar to what I did here!
Hey, what an incredible image of your video! Which lens are you using in your Sony A7sIII?
This was great! May I ask what did you used to record the screen? Looks super sharp!!!
Thank you! I actually just used QuickTime on my MacBook. It’s the easiest and quickest way I’ve found vs using something like OBS
Promo code??? MY BOY MADE IT.
Thank you thank you 😭
Cool stuff
Thank you!
talking about the look you have on the shot of yourself, looks awesome. May i ask what lens are you using?
Thank you! I don’t quite remember but I think it was the sigma 35mm 1.4!
I want a panavision film look
Is it accurate when using hlg picture profile?
I've never used hlg but there is an option for it when you select the camera and picture profile used, it should be very similar if not exactly the same. I hope it works for you!
