How many miles per chicken! Love it. This is over 50 years ago and he's talking about less pollution. A real life Caractacus Potts or an unknown eco warrior?
Not nearly 60 is it. It's 51. Which is very very near to 50..
Maybe you said 60 to give it more effect.
@@unknown55158 thank you for pointing that out - just human error
I'd say both.
It is interesting to note that back then, a man of 63 looked 20 years older than he would do today.
Keep these posts coming. So educational and wonderful
he is 114yrs old today and his secrets of the device probably went into the grave with him..
It’s simple technology. Still exists today.
The patent number suggests it’s registered with HMPO.
It’s a CNG (compressed natural gas) vehicle using gas from a anaerobic biodigester with chicken poop as the feed stock. The tech is not dead and quite accessible.
@@mach1nefan do you know of the books on converting cars to run on this simple technology?
No government involved just him and his chickens and he's able to make tax free petrol to drive his car....
63!!! tough life
Just wonderful 👍
The colonel's other secret recipe. 🐔
MI5 probably showed up at his door right after this aired
I *really* wasn't expecting the interviewer to ask "mile per chicken"!
Doc brown
With the created fuel shortage, starting with Diesel now, this might be an interesting alternative!
He's 63 here he looks 73 😁 thanks for sharing.
His idea would be killed off by the greed of the oil companies.
Absolutely! Methane is a naturally occurring gas and inexpensive to use.
His idea is called Biomethane today, and you can buy any CNG truck and run on it.
Can you upload Hangar 17 complete collection. With bands and music cut.
Doc Brown!!?? 😄
He was only 63?!
They actually lived life back then. They always looked older because they spent most of the day outside.
"Great Scott!"
He was ahead of the game.
“Pollution free”. Harold was blissfully unaware of greenhouse gases.
Which don’t exist.
@@handsoffmycactus2958 ?
@@handsoffmycactus2958 please can you give evidence
The chicken poop would give off those gases anyway
@@buidseach Yes, but burning them is much more harmful to the environment.
With the cost of living crisis and the rising costs in petrol in the U.K. why can’t we use chicken manure to power our vehicles?
That's quite a title.
gretta would love this guy lol
What y'all get for Christmas?
A chickenpoo car ...
Imagine dying and you’re mainly known for being the chicken poo guy 🐓 💩
He was my wifes great grandad.
He didnt look too great for 63. Maybe people age better these days.
I Love the Monty Python Style on this.. greetings from Brandenburg,Germany
ha, miss berlin. greetings from NY
@@sherry5751 greetings from nearly Berlin
@@1speedtreiber haha, I heard its nearly 37 C these days in Berlin, be safe
@@sherry5751 yes in the next Days...☀️☀️☀️😝
'How many miles per chicken?' LMAO
❤️❤️❤️
The Oil industry would want it unless they can control it !
Not an idea to be poo pooed!
He could have been the next Elon Musk made his car company named Tesla or Cock-a-doodle-poo.
Never caught on
According to the inventor chicken manure was about twice as energy dense as petrol.why not tie chicken to front of car.
Gordon bennet he’s only 8 years older than me 😬😬😬
But really why we don't use every resource mother nature have provided? At some point petrol should become rare, lithium could be destructive to mine.
To say that his car runs on chicken poo, is to say that our cars run on dinosaur bones.
I don't speak British. How much is seven pounds ten?
150 shillings, pre EU decimal, thats roughly 75 of those new fangled Euros.
seven pounds and ten shillings. 20 shillings to a pound, so £7.50
Taking into account inflation, probably about £200 ish now- say $250. At a rough guess.
Not good for the environment
Indeed... emits too many KFC's!
@@gan9e 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣
@@joannietrotter2344 true I totally agree with you but methane is worse
@@joannietrotter2344 nope I don't mate methane is contributing to greenhouse gases
@Russ Ingram still contribute greenhouse gases mate can't get away from that
