Appreciate your keeping us informed of the flooding situation. The local government needs to put into place a better sewage system to drain the water. Not only in Manila, but those areas in the country that are prone to flooding easily.

syettttt pretty flooding in MANILA...but this is very typical in manila when typhoon hits bcos of roads are very low. During rainy season you should always expect that Manila will be flooding. The last time before i left manila since i was only 12 years old... the water level was above my neck and that was in OBANDO BULACAN. Its pretty sad bcos most of what you own inside your house or apartment always gets destroyed by the floods and its really cost a lots for my bros and sisters from the PHILS when it comes to their furnitures and other things.
It looks like in Texas,Florida and even New York, here in Italy entire region of Emilia Romagna

Are drains clogged up , insufficient amount of drains or time for a new drainage system . I think a vacuum truck would be handy to suck out any debris from drains .

Due to nonstop rain caused by typhoon
panong di matagal humupa ang baha iisa ang treatment para pumunta ng manila bay,dadaan muna doon bago irelease sa bay,then come summer rasyun sa tubig,samantalang sawa sa tubig ulan at baha ang pilipinas,kung sa halip na ibulsa at kurakutin ng ating mga pulitiko ang pondo ng bayan ,ay gastusan na lang sana sa flood control na tunay na gagawin at hindi kunwari ,at palalimin ang ating mga reservoir ,para maka accomodate ng mas maraming tubig,di yung tuwing summer na lang problema ng mga juan de la cruz na di nkatira sa mga subdivision at sila ay sa ordinaryung barangay ang tulo sa gripo,na di prioriting paagusan ng mga concessionaire,samantalang for the service of the pilipino ang layunin sa tubig na yan,kaya sila andyan,,distributing lang ang function ng mga ito,pero mga abusado,ginagawang gatasan ang mamamayan sa pamamagitan ng pagsingil ng kung anuanu at sa mataas na halaga pa,till now since time immemorial walang pagbabago,gahaman pa rin sa tubo at the expence of the people,at di lahat ng parte ng bansa may tulo ,sa pampanga pag summer malakas pa ang ihi sa paglabas kesa sa gripo na nasa kabahayan....

Happens every typhoon. Sure, a decent sewer system would help but you don't realise just how much water the Goddess can dump here until you've seen it.
They predict that Manila Philippines will be underwater in the year 2030 it's because of the rising of the sea level. Not just Manila Philippines it's also other countries like Amsterdam, New Orleans, Venice Italy will be also underwater as well.
They have been saying the same thing for 40 yrs dont always believe what crap they post on MSM . Just needs more investment in drainage and better managed but that is money and investors and govts only after quick bucks.

Snippet: dahil habitually rainfall does come whether we like it or not sa bansa, smart na kung ang administration ngayon ay mag order ng mga street sweeper trucks -- more than one truck is obviously what's needed to take the water to the drainage and off back to sea. Your streets and highways should dry-off before the sunshine is back in its usual business. Mga 200 trucks sweeper should be good to cover most grounds submerged in water. Know too rainwater is cleaning your roads but you must sweep them and do not allow them to linger for more than 2-3 days or mag deteriorate bako-bako ang inyong mga bagong simentado na streets -- this not smart. It's bad engineering and urban planning. Vietnam has the same issue in a lot of places.
the easiest solution is to build actual sewer system.
Build more pumping station to draw water to the sea Manila elevation is below sea water elevation.
