Jim, you are one hell of a musician, fan of yours in 1973 and still in 2023, Thankyou for your music ❤ we loved you blokes in Australia and still do 🇦🇺😘
This is one of my favorite Slade songs of all. ...and I have been a fan since 1972. Great to hear you do this version Jim. I actually recorded my version of Kill em at the hot club tonight...great song
From 1970 to the present day, there hasn't been a single day gone by that I haven't listened to a Slade song, slade was the Soundtrack to my Teenage years & my Youth , and touches my Soul everyday, thank you Jim for the Legacy you Boyze made with your Big Noize, your Talent is endless & Pure Genius, I just like the things you do, Don't you change the things you do "Keep On Rockin" 👍
Me too. That night in 73 when Noddys ugly mug screamed BABY BABY BABY! out of the telly on TOTP was a life changer. I had no real musical interests and as a 13 year old I listened to just about anything. Then BAM! I was hooked 😂 Never looked back and never will. Sweet, Sabbath, Priest, Maiden Ghost, Rammstein are my most favourite bands but above them all its Slade.
Simple answer. It was released for the Christmas market in 91 and as we know the media is only interested in one Slade Christmas song. The band have stated that they were invited to do the usual round of Xmas tv shows but even telling the producers that they have a new single out the reply was if you want to appear you have to mime to MXE we aren't interested in anything new.
My god, luv this. Just as good as the way Nod sings this. What a voice Jim Lea has. Does anyone recall Nod singing Cum on Feel the Noise with an acoustic guitar on the TV series the Grimly’s?
Nearly all the later material was by Jim in the studio himself. Jim literally recorded TAKS, YBMBN and RG on his own and the rest just added their parts later. He was the real power in the band but doesn't get the credit he's due.
Beautiful, my lovely wife and I got married with this tune in the background. Jim, you are so underrated, should have been such a massive hit. Thank you for the music Jim. So,so, good
Jim Lea, you are just a legend. Absolutley fabulous. What a song. This deserves to be at the top of the heritage Charts now!!!! Slade's last 45 single release, and now all those years later back in the Charts. Say it again, James Whild Lea, you are a legend. 👍👍👌👌🤗🤗
Mate i voted for you on the heritage charts. Bloody great song. Been an Aussie fan since the early 70's . Never got to see you guys live. Saw Don play with Suzi Q a couple of years ago in Melbourne. Keep on rockin mate ,from a huge fan in Australia
As good a song as any you care to mention - as good as anyone. Should be a massive hit but sadly the whole music industry has gone to hell in a hand basket and top quality songwriting like this is no longer valued. What a crying shame. Still those who get it get it and know what a quality piece of writing it is. Well done.
GREAT SONG- with a nice memory of the old days I was able to experience with Slade !!! Jim is for one of the most important musicians that have shaped my life since a young age and still today🙏🙏🙏 very best regards from Germany Klaus Ruple
Absolutely beautiful! I can't work out if it's a double bass or a cello. I'm thinking of Don's comment from when you first joined the group and about the spike sticking in your neck 😂🤣🙃😅😁
What a wonderful musician, what a brilliant composer, what a wonderful melody, what a lovely human being! 🥰😍 Thank you and thank you and thank you again from a Norwegian fan in more than fifty years! 🎼🎵🎶
I THINK WE SHOULD ALL GANG UP ON JIM (NICELY) AND EVERY TIME HE UPLOADS SOMETHING DEMAND HE GIVES US A TOUR! He's got the talent, the charisma and we love him.😊 And what's more he can show Dave how it's done.
Beautiful. It shows who was the real talent and powerhouse behind Slade. Come on Jim give us a tour. I wouldn't go around the corner to see Daves dire offering but you are the only one I would travel across the universe to see.🙏
Jim, an extremely talented musician- but what an original talent you are; if you think it would be fun to do, please consider another go at the reinhardt & grappelli approach that I think you love … (“Kill ‘em” is beyond phenomenal).
Jim Lea done a nice recording of this song Universe..but for me i do agree with some peoples comments as they prefer Noddys Version too in all fairness...but jim done well on tbis track..
@@guyfurfaro9902 with respect have you heard Nod lately? He still has that raucous sound we know and love bearing in mind his age but the soft timbre in his voice has gone.
Jim, thank you for your great music (that's with me over 50 years)! Therapy album is one my favourite!
So far so good
Jim, you are one hell of a musician, fan of yours in 1973 and still in 2023, Thankyou for your music ❤ we loved you blokes in Australia and still do 🇦🇺😘

There certainly is a special connection. Can't understand why the Americans didn't get it. Yet they like some things as mediocre as Kiss?
Brilliant Stephen ❤🤗👌🎸🎸🤘
Jimmy Lea the best from the west
Fantastic Jim. Why this wasn't a hit way back in the 90s, I'll never know. A lovely reworking of a beautiful piece of music. 👍

That was great Jim. I reckon it was a better version than when you were with Slade. 🙂.
I have also been a Slade fan since they began, well in my life anyway, I saw Slade when they were skinheads in the ocean Room Weymouth, circa 1970 ??
Love it James
Just another voice, the same emotion, wonderfil chords, such a break. After all these years, it is so strong to ear this song again. It is timeless.
Awesome 🎻🎻🎻🎻
Shades of ELO, mixed with a hint of Dire Straits, but ALWAYS our Jim! Long may you continue to entertain us with your creativity! Thanks, Jim!!!
