Telling someone, especially a new player, to "not rush things" over "the game is dead" is perhaps the best advice that one can give. I feel that the issue is not so much the "lack of content", it's that people are going through the content too fast, which is causing a lot of the stress that we've been seeing lately. Also, instead of just playing through the game for the grind, think outside the box. The Bujin speedruns are a great example of this: Seeing the community displaying their skill with a variety of weapons across all available classes is great to see. I've also seen Alliances have events within their communities, such as fashion shows and BP min/maxing competitions. And as others had already mentioned, there is the Base game. Getting the free cosmetics there is worth it. On the other hand, I also have to agree that SEGA needs to treat the players better, even outside of their social media channels. Yes, SEGA is a business, however, a business is nothing without its customers. Also, their mismanagement of short-term profits over long-term player retention is disconcerting.
Not exactly, their last survey was on monetization as a whole but its to be expected for a company as a whole: They ask what might be interested for their players or consumers to spend money but with how things went people called sega greedy at face value. In reality, its to be expected.

Im taking a break of NGS not because of the current state of the game, mostly because of the community. I used to check various social media sites about PSO2 and NGS, those used to had good stuff, but lately every site and even some content creators only focus on negativity, but the worst is the usual toxic users who have ridiculous demands (want monthly quality new content, total gameplay rework, etc ASAP) or just spread hate. There's a lot of good criticism, SEGA has really screwed up on some areas, but still i enjoy the game, is stupid deny how much fun lots of us had when we started NGS, and while right now i only do dailies and then play something else, im keeping away the most i can of the community outside of the game, because lately it had affected me in my mood while i play it.

I've been on a break ever since braver came out, I haven't logged in since. ngs is a relatively new game so why would I bother playing and complaining about lack of content, it's not gonna magically spawn content into existence so I only return when there's content. I had the same experience with monster hunter world & iceborne, content isn't something pushed 24/7, I've taken plenty of breaks between its free dlc updates yet I have 1k+ hours across 2 platforms. I advice anyone that can't stand the lack of content to just wait it out and go play other games, there's plenty out there and just come back whenever they drop more content OR just take a long enough break so you come back to a good amount of content EDIT: and for new ngs players they can always give pso2 classic a try, worst case scenario if you don't enjoy it, you'll be able to grab some free cosmetic stuff from there to ngs

Pretty much. Like with any game, if the game is good, but the content lacking is the biggest offender, that's a minor issue only remedied with time, just know that it could've, and CAN be a lot worse, but it's here now so no point for could've, would've, should'ves. I'll still come back when Bouncer comes out, or when they release new content, play through it, get BiS, then back to playing casually, or straight up taking a break until something new comes out. I'm doing that with Destiny at the moment until The Witch Queen comes out, all my characters are in BiS armor and weapons, and that's a game riddled with replayable content. Playing FF14 right now and that's being loads of fun. Point is, if you're bored or feeling burnt out, come back at a later date when there's new stuff for you or stuff that catches your eye so you feel refreshed instead of forcing yourself.
To be fair they are "just" re-doing the exact same as they did with base PSO2. The only difference is that Japanese players aren't as toxic and we received 8 years worth of content all at once instead.
I don't think calling the game or any game really dead is toxic it's just kind of a fact, i wouldn't recommend anyone play this game until it's im a better place. First impressions for most people will make or break their expectations and enjoyment and this game released as a glorified beta, I'd rather people avoid it and give it a chance if and when it's worth investing time in not now especially since most people will do everything in a week or so and think the game is a waste of time and is going no where, which is why the player count dropped so low. Now recently they've been doing better thankfully and that's a good sign but we'll have to see where everything goes from here on out and hope for the best, but I'll tell you right now i won't tell anyone seriously looking for an mmo to play this game, especially not compared to other games at least not right now, it'll probably just give most people a bad taste in their mouth and they'll right it off, the only reason i am sticking with the game is mainly because if base pso2 and i quit that game several times for several reasons. So when you try to highlight some issues, they always defend the game saying that PSO2 was the same as the beginning blablabla.... They are so on copium, they are not listening, so SEGA has a shield defending them and avoid the noise to reach them enough... They really need to drop the fact you can't sell if you don't buy Personal Shop ticket... But the fanbase don't see any issue there, they want to continue to do like PSO2, not understanding that the game they like will die soon or later. And that the real player base is actually maintained by the fact there is no new game and lot of MMOs got postponed to 2022/2023. When those games are gonna be released, it will be too late for NGS to shine. New World and FF14 (new extension) already hit the PSO2 NGS player base when they were released.
Want to know what we deserve as players? Go play the FFXIV free trial for a couple weeks, watch their live letters, go to their reddits and forums. Get a feel for the community and how their development and community leaders actually give a shit about their players. Like my favorite thing I found out was during a fanfest, a guy suggested an controller vibrate option for queue (party dungeon) alerts because he's hearing impaired. Yoshi-P was like "I gotchu homie!" and threw it into the next patch.
A couple of things: First, the "ERP bans" are warranted, when the ERP happens in public. There is a lot of titillating stuff in the game, some of it comical, but that doesn't mean you can Area chat your ERP. In private chats, you're welcome to do whatever you want. If that is the reason for the bans, then I see no issue, and I don't think anybody else would. Second, the real bans that should be discussed are Alliance-wide ban waves to people who complain about the game, both in game and on discord. I say discussed, because I'm hearing that this is happening mainly at the hands of the CMs who got entangled in Alliance drama on certain ships (which luckily I'm not on, dodged a massive bullet there). The part where the CMs are entangled in Alliance drama seems to be true as there are screenshots of chat logs. Same CM who antagonizes customers who are understandably dissatisfied and frustrated on twitter, while at the same time refusing to do the bare minimum of at least tweeting about maintenance. Finally, you can't just put "Toxic" in front of anything and make it into a thing. That's not how it works. "Toxic Passion" is not a thing. You're just trying to paint people complaining about the state of the game in a bad light, with no substance behind the accusation. *"If you complain, you must do it in a neutered and ineffective way"* , is that what you're asking? What is "toxic" about asking for any down to earth communication from a dev team that asks for $100 to let your character do a scuffed Naruto run? *Why is half of this video about the players being toxic* when talking about a game that killed PSO2's economy by removing free personal shop access to all of its players? How is that in any way acceptable? How are people "Gatekeeping" by pressuring SEGA to address these problems? Where is the gatekeeping happening?
Fine points on the first and second one, but toxic passion is a thing (Enneagram 2) and it's simply players going overboard by saying things that wish the company and game dead. Like we said, there are more pressing issues to address, not the ERP bans (but of course, it's still an issue). It matters what actions they do first as that is a huge factor in player retention, something that's supposed to be far more important to them than sales. Remember the wave of hate when they first announced the bans? Imagine if they announced "We're thinking of giving F2P players a chance to put things on the market". We never said to stop complaining, we're only implying to see it on a different perspective. A lot of players love the game as much as you do, but said players never really went overboard by hating it with a passion. That's where the difference is.
Sega needs to git gud right now because NGS already lost majority of it's player base at the fastest rate that I've ever seen and I've played all sorts of MMOs. It won't be long before NGS only has 3 digits of players left.
Great point, my guy! There's a certain "balance" in criticism. Overdo it, and the company tumbles. Underdo and they would barely do a thing about it. What matters is that we do something that makes them listen, not tumble.
This is why I feel both sega **and** the community needs to change. Yeah SEGA 's causing problems but I feel that this whole tough love spiel from the community would just be as problematic as it is. You can be critical without being vicious and frankly some positives wouldnt hurt in your feedback.

NGS as of now is impossible to recommend to anyone and if that is "Bad for business" for SEGA well, that's the point. We know PSO2 can do better, just look at the Global PSO2 launch - we had FUN scratches for Shop Passes and accesories, we had the ARKS Hour episodes that featured content creators and fanart . . . yeah, it's not all about the content. SEGA won't do anything if they see only positive profits offering a less-than-minimal effort product and poor community handling , that's why voicing our concerns and demanding, for starters what we lost, is the best thing to do. I own MHR a new event quests has been put out quite regularly. granted yes that is a game you actually have to buy but still. sunbreak was announced for summer 2022 but the developers are constantly updating the base game. this is just the bane of f2p games. the development process is a LOT slower.
Ngs will always facing lack of content because of early game, the issue I have with it is the global handling their bans like a generic shitty discord mod or a child mod you see in gmod servers. Because of it I made the switch to Jp server, at least starting over is something to do lol.
How are we going to find the reactors now?! F......Why couldn't SEGA just allow the reactors to show up on the minimap?? There are so many things that I wish SEGA had done here, but didn't....it's sad to see. I had such high hopes.

im playing on jp because NA are kinda dead and since im not kinda guy who ERP or RP at all. so i think it not my problem when i heard about it. ay but 1 year later the game is kinda ok compare to when it launched
Well it's still level 20 obviously it's still pretty dry, to be fair FF also took year or so to be bearable to play, same as monster Hunter world, I believe content would ramp up later on since there should be more stuff in the game, Mags evolution, Quarter, more augmentation crafting recipe, you should notice even if new region being open you still need to farm Ael Domina since it's one of good augment out there, me personally only online like two hours ATM, do scratch and be done with it, market is saturated ATM farming yield low profit. It doesn't matter if Sega launch at level 35 open all Aelio including Desert and snow region, player will just skip to the end content bypassing all lower equipment, they will just chew content like 2-3 month or so. What we need is not only region but variety of activities like different Gigantix, different UQ with Unique reward. IMO what destroying Rare is Potency unleash of weapon the reason why Catleya and other doesn't sell is because significant difference in potential not a mere stats.

I don't even know what everyone is so mad about. I been jumping on for a week now and about to hit 20 an having a great time. Like you said just play. Social media chat and reddit post will tend to bring you down with them. So who cares what everyone else is complaining about and just keep having fun till you don't.
Hope Q3 report serves as a wake up call to sega. Q2 report is exactly after ngs launch so.....its kinda biased really....Q3 and Q4 will be the actual picture of the game's state...just wait and see.

And everything you do is full rng, you don't have control with any content that is in the game, uq are rng, world bosses are rng, weapon drops and upgrades are rng, fixta is a big rng.... It's a shitshow entirely, the guy who directet this game still lives in the early 2000s and have no idea how a modern mmo looks like... And this is the big problem, there needs to be a big change with the managemant for this game, because the people who work on it right now have no idea what people need in a modern mmo, or any mmo....

But the fanbase don't see any issue there, they want to continue to do like PSO2, not understanding that the game they like will die soon or later. And that the real player base is actually maintained by the fact there is no new game and lot of MMOs got postponed to 2022/2023. When those games are gonna be released, it will be too late for NGS to shine. New World and FF14 (new extension) already hit the PSO2 NGS player base when they were released.
Want to know what we deserve as players? Go play the FFXIV free trial for a couple weeks, watch their live letters, go to their reddits and forums. Get a feel for the community and how their development and community leaders actually give a shit about their players. Like my favorite thing I found out was during a fanfest, a guy suggested an controller vibrate option for queue (party dungeon) alerts because he's hearing impaired. Yoshi-P was like "I gotchu homie!" and threw it into the next patch.

A couple of things:
First, the "ERP bans" are warranted, when the ERP happens in public. There is a lot of titillating stuff in the game, some of it comical, but that doesn't mean you can Area chat your ERP. In private chats, you're welcome to do whatever you want.
If that is the reason for the bans, then I see no issue, and I don't think anybody else would.
Second, the real bans that should be discussed are Alliance-wide ban waves to people who complain about the game, both in game and on discord.
I say discussed, because I'm hearing that this is happening mainly at the hands of the CMs who got entangled in Alliance drama on certain ships (which luckily I'm not on, dodged a massive bullet there). The part where the CMs are entangled in Alliance drama seems to be true as there are screenshots of chat logs.
Same CM who antagonizes customers who are understandably dissatisfied and frustrated on twitter, while at the same time refusing to do the bare minimum of at least tweeting about maintenance.
Finally, you can't just put "Toxic" in front of anything and make it into a thing. That's not how it works.
"Toxic Passion" is not a thing. You're just trying to paint people complaining about the state of the game in a bad light, with no substance behind the accusation. *"If you complain, you must do it in a neutered and ineffective way"* , is that what you're asking?
What is "toxic" about asking for any down to earth communication from a dev team that asks for $100 to let your character do a scuffed Naruto run?
*Why is half of this video about the players being toxic* when talking about a game that killed PSO2's economy by removing free personal shop access to all of its players? How is that in any way acceptable?
How are people "Gatekeeping" by pressuring SEGA to address these problems? Where is the gatekeeping happening?
Fine points on the first and second one, but toxic passion is a thing (Enneagram 2) and it's simply players going overboard by saying things that wish the company and game dead. Like we said, there are more pressing issues to address, not the ERP bans (but of course, it's still an issue). It matters what actions they do first as that is a huge factor in player retention, something that's supposed to be far more important to them than sales. Remember the wave of hate when they first announced the bans? Imagine if they announced "We're thinking of giving F2P players a chance to put things on the market".
We never said to stop complaining, we're only implying to see it on a different perspective. A lot of players love the game as much as you do, but said players never really went overboard by hating it with a passion. That's where the difference is.
Sega needs to git gud right now because NGS already lost majority of it's player base at the fastest rate that I've ever seen and I've played all sorts of MMOs. It won't be long before NGS only has 3 digits of players left.
Great point, my guy! There's a certain "balance" in criticism. Overdo it, and the company tumbles. Underdo and they would barely do a thing about it. What matters is that we do something that makes them listen, not tumble.
This is why I feel both sega **and** the community needs to change. Yeah SEGA 's causing problems but I feel that this whole tough love spiel from the community would just be as problematic as it is. You can be critical without being vicious and frankly some positives wouldnt hurt in your feedback.

NGS as of now is impossible to recommend to anyone and if that is "Bad for business" for SEGA well, that's the point. We know PSO2 can do better, just look at the Global PSO2 launch - we had FUN scratches for Shop Passes and accesories, we had the ARKS Hour episodes that featured content creators and fanart . . . yeah, it's not all about the content.
SEGA won't do anything if they see only positive profits offering a less-than-minimal effort product and poor community handling , that's why voicing our concerns and demanding, for starters what we lost, is the best thing to do.
Remove all those "toxic passionate" people and you'll have just whales and yes-man drones running around in NGS, such thriving community you'll had xDDD
I own MHR a new event quests has been put out quite regularly. granted yes that is a game you actually have to buy but still. sunbreak was announced for summer 2022 but the developers are constantly updating the base game. this is just the bane of f2p games. the development process is a LOT slower.
Ngs will always facing lack of content because of early game, the issue I have with it is the global handling their bans like a generic shitty discord mod or a child mod you see in gmod servers. Because of it I made the switch to Jp server, at least starting over is something to do lol.

How are we going to find the reactors now?! F......Why couldn't SEGA just allow the reactors to show up on the minimap?? There are so many things that I wish SEGA had done here, but didn't....it's sad to see. I had such high hopes.
Hopefully, RB will come back by December. Besides that, it's all manually looking for those reactors :(

Well it's still level 20 obviously it's still pretty dry, to be fair FF also took year or so to be bearable to play, same as monster Hunter world, I believe content would ramp up later on since there should be more stuff in the game, Mags evolution, Quarter, more augmentation crafting recipe, you should notice even if new region being open you still need to farm Ael Domina since it's one of good augment out there, me personally only online like two hours ATM, do scratch and be done with it, market is saturated ATM farming yield low profit.
It doesn't matter if Sega launch at level 35 open all Aelio including Desert and snow region, player will just skip to the end content bypassing all lower equipment, they will just chew content like 2-3 month or so.
What we need is not only region but variety of activities like different Gigantix, different UQ with Unique reward.
IMO what destroying Rare is Potency unleash of weapon the reason why Catleya and other doesn't sell is because significant difference in potential not a mere stats.

Social media chat and reddit post will tend to bring you down with them. So who cares what everyone else is complaining about and just keep having fun till you don't.
Hope Q3 report serves as a wake up call to sega. Q2 report is exactly after ngs launch so.....its kinda biased really....Q3 and Q4 will be the actual picture of the game's state...just wait and see.

It's not about rushing, the fact is there is no endgame content, you don't have achivements, dungeons,raids, you don't have content that makes you grind for some nice skins, there is nothing, the only countent is pay2win .. And everything you do is full rng, you don't have control with any content that is in the game, uq are rng, world bosses are rng, weapon drops and upgrades are rng, fixta is a big rng.... It's a shitshow entirely, the guy who directet this game still lives in the early 2000s and have no idea how a modern mmo looks like... And this is the big problem, there needs to be a big change with the managemant for this game, because the people who work on it right now have no idea what people need in a modern mmo, or any mmo....
