That jab parry is exemplary. As is this entire exchange. Beautiful! 👏🏻👏🏻
As somebody who practices both Boxing and Karate, these are things I’ve noticed as well. I would say both may indeed be a “Do” but that depends on the practitioner. The bow, has not changed. 🥋🇺🇸🙏🏻🥊

If Murata's son wanted to become a Boxer I think it would be interesting to have him train in Karate under Naka as a youth then merge and adapt these principles with Boxing. It would certainly make for a unique fighting style in Boxing.

Tenshin Nasukawa has undergone a similar transition. From kyokoshin to kickboxing.

@@pradyumn2692 well that's not surprising since the Kyokushin to Japanese Style Kickboxing has always been a pipeline for talent in the Sport.

Ryota Murata is 36 years old, but he looks 20 !!
P.S. Kizime is nothing but being non telegraphic. Boxers use it all the time. I wonder why Murata is surprised about it.

The feeling that you cant punch well with gloves on... is because Combat punches are designed for instant Impact damages... where as the gloves absorb most of the initial impact forces. As such... you have to gain much more "Penetration" strength... to be able to overcome the gloves initial absorption. This also makes the punches slide a bit closer.. to a Push.
There are different kinds of Striking energies: Surface level, Standard Impact, Explosive (short range impact), Penetrating, Circular, Spiral, Downwards (Sinking), Pushing... and a few more variations, based on these. Training each one... should use different equipment. For Impact, a wall mounted Sandbag is one of the best training tools. Focus mits are "OK" as well. But for Penetration depth strength... hitting a heavy bag with gloves, and or hitting thick foam targets.. is a good option.
If you already have heavy Impact power... then Once you gain good penetration strength... your Impact punching power output will be even further increased... due to a lot more muscular strength involved in aiding it. If you only had good penetration strikes... its possible that you will lack good impact power and short range power... as you have not learned to Focus all of that energy at the precise split-second timing. There is also reflex and Speed training... to develop much more explosively fast limb movement abilities. And then there is Endurance training... designed to keep you from easy fatigue + sloppy technique.
As for the KI stuff... thats not actually KI / Qi. Whats being shown, is Visual Hypnosis, and the removal of Subconscious Cues. By having more relaxed movements... it removed the danger cue of the subconscious mind... and so it doesnt send the feeling and signal to react. Rigid movements are spotted quickly by the mind.. and so you react quickly.. especially because the mind recognizes the cues from previous experiences, and send out the "React" signals. This is not just in the movements themselves.. but also in the facial expression. Any little cue of aggression or stiffness, will Cue the OP that you are about to attack. Where as, a fluid, soft, and non threatening movement... will delay their reactions, making them way too late.
